Sie sind Sensation auf der Insel und haben mit ihrem typisch britischen Humor und virtuoser Instrumentalanarchie auch das deutsche Publikum im Sturm erobert: das Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. Die acht Musiker aus England mögen Jazz, Skiffle und Punkrock, alles Musikrichtungen, die sich selbst nicht allzu ernst nehmen. Dafür ist die Ukulele das perfekte Instrument. Alle Musiker sind gleichermaßen virtuos wie komisch, sie sind allerdings auch der Meinung, dass es schwierig ist, mit einer Ukulele ernst auszusehen.
Mit einer Lizenz zum Albern unterhält das Ukulele Orchestra seit 1985 sein Publikum auf der ganzen Welt und ist nun mit einer längeren Show im deutschen Fernsehen zu sehen. Eine Aufzeichnung aus dem TIPI am Kanzleramt.

This is amazing. They have this on another video, perhaps slightly better, but still this is compelling. Who'd have thought "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" would translate so beautifully to ukulele, and across English to German? I love the UOGB!

It's a Baritone Ukulele tuned the same as Standard guitar minus the two Bass Strings. It's generally tuned DGBE. His happens to be a Florentine Cutaway style baritone ukulele. Bushman Ukulele makes/made those.
A great hommage to one of the best Morricone composition!!! In 2014 the UOGB will be on tour in Germany :-))))))

I don't agree plerimest, this is one of the better audiences I've seen with the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, nothing wrong with their humor :-)

They should have used a bass ukulele with rubber strings for the bass. It comes close to the sound of an acoustic bass and is, by all means, still an ukulele.

wo bitte schön sind hier falsche stellen?? lachen ist eine spontane reaktion auf lustige situationen. da man hier meist nur einen musiker im bild sieht, denke ich mal, kannst du schlecht nachvollziehen, warum jemand lacht.. super darbietung btw..! ;)
