- The Royal Welsh is the only line infantry regiment in Wales and has inherited a distinguished military tradition from its predecessors, The Royal Welch Fusiliers and The Royal Regiment of Wales. Our shared history reaches back over 330 years to 1689. Our story is a continuation of that of our forebears.
Those who serve in The Royal Welsh excel at mounted and dismounted combat and draw strength from our rich history and heritage. Each man must constantly drive to perfect the ways of the modern warrior - a Welsh Warrior.
