If you didn't know Likey was filmed in Canada and Momo made the dance break. For heart shaker the chorus became a famous kpop meme.

To elaborate on the "Heart Shake" meme.... the line "isanghage" is often misheard as "is Sana gay?", which is generally a tongue-in-cheek question fans sometimes find themselves wondering / reference to how physically affectionate Sana is towards the other members (especially by comparison to the others). So much so it has become somewhat of a running gag/meme. I still remember the clips of some of Twice's concerts (mainly in the US) where _THE ENTIRE ARENA_ purposefully sang out the misheard line during that part of the song. 😂😂

Dahyun's rap, momo's dance, and Jihyo's last chorus close-up is why "Likey" is one of my favorite Twice songs! The overall vibe and setting of the song just feels so nice too, its definitely one of their more simple videos compared to the effects and settings used in others.

Dahyun and Chaeyoung's rap is my most replayed part of Likey
And Jeongyeon's line in Heartshaker is my most replayed part in that MV

FUN FACTS: (1) Tzuyu performed the iconic helicopter hand dance in Heart Shaker. The helicopter hands were from the "Honey Trap" MV by C-pop star Jolin Tsai. Tzuyu performed "Honey Trap" in the first competition of Sixteen.
(2) Dahyun's dab in the rap in Likey was the most iconic action in 2018's music award shows. Everybody was waiting for her rap.
(3) Chaeyoung's rap in Likey was recognized as one of the fastest raps in K-pop.
In Likey:
- Jihyo's filmed videos made it to the MV too
- They filmed it in Canada
- Dance Break was choreographed by Momo
- The dance on her part was by Momo too, it was combination of point choreo from all their previous title tracks
- They actually spoiled the Heart Shaker title in the MV, with that Jihyo holding a firework scene
- That Dahyun rap dab was a major hit to every one hshshs
- Chaeyoung spit fire in her rap in here
- Jeongyeon wore the shirt she was staring at on her first parts hahahaha
If you had not noticed, they had 4 Korean comebacks in 2017 (and 5 releases, if you include Merry & Happy). That is probably the most comebacks per year for an kpop group. And, not forgetting that they debut in Japan in the same year (with a few releases and many activities) and had their first official fan-meeting and concert tour, all in 2017!
You’re happy cuz twice is legitimately happy doing what they do. They aren’t just singing happy songs but the living embodiment of them. That’s why it’s hard for anyone to cover their songs and do them justice.

The one thing I'm sad about the "Heart Shaker" MV is that it misses out the original end formation which features the girls form a train of hugs that end with Sana hugging Nayeon, who hugs her back. The number of variations I've seen of them playing around with this is nothing short of hilarious; from Sana refusing to hug Nayeon and hugging someone else instead, to Nayeon getting her revenge by leaving Sana hanging by not being there to be hugged, to Sana literally chasing Nayeon across the stage in order to try to hug her! 😂😂
100% agree. Ive seen so many live occasions of this song and the different endings. There is a 2017-2019 compilation of HS endings with a few of the differences but not many. Its called "The Evolution of Twice Heart Shaker".
In Kpop all the other girl groups are on one level and Twice is on their own at the top. They are truly unique and will never be replicated in this lifetime and for many to come. These 9 young women were destined to be together making hit after hit for the world to hear. Their visuals are unmatched as is their talent. Anything they do is pure magic!

Likey has a special place in my heart cause the MV is filmed in my home, Vancouver, Canada. Just being able to walk around downtown and see all the places they filmed in. That alley with the pink and yellow everywhere is iconic. The song also feels like it shows off all the members strengths too.
My favorite podcasters (Graham & Dave of Stop Podcasting Yourself) are in Vancouver, and Likey was filmed there. I need to visit!

Tzuyu’s “windmill hands” are such a hidden Twice staple. They incorporate it into her parts in several different choreographies and it’s all because she did it during her initial performance on SIXTEEN.
HeartShaker is also VERY iconic in that the very first line of the chorus lowkey sounds like “Is Sana gay?” so international fans literally SCREAM “is Sana gay?” whenever they perform this song on tours. Sana’s hugging being part of the choreo doesn’t help! Lol (you can quite literally see Jeongyeon being like GET AWAY FROM ME in the MV too)
If you watch the behind the scenes stuff for the MVs of their title tracks, they are pretty funny and it shows you how hard they work. This was filmed in Canada btw.

Heartshaker was my first comeback as a once and it's my favorite song it's like so precious to me 😭😭
Likey also has a good story to it.
It's such a happy song with slightly depressing lyrics.
My interpretation is that the MC (TWICE) is a girl who keeps adjusting herself to be the "perfect" girl to the person she loves (ONCE). She requires herself to be pretty, hides her true feelings, doesn't get/wear the things she likes if she thinks that her crush won't like it (Jeongyeon staring at a dress longingly). In the MV, this is represented by the internet and the need for likes. The members dance in a colorful alleyway but in reality it's very ugly, the alleyway only looks cute through the camera.
In the end, her pent-up feelings are starting to overfill (bridge part). She rides a train that brings her an answer (rap part), that she doesn't need to adjust herself to be perfect because the person she loves actually loves her for who she truly is, and unconditionally. In the end, Momo dance breaks in the dark alleyway embracing this side. Jeongyeon also wears the dress she wanted in the last chorus!
ONCE loves TWICE unconditionally!!!!!
BTW, the train reoccurs in Heart Shaker and ICSM.

In heart shaker, the girls are split into two mindsets basically like a fun version (colorful outfits) and a shy version (pure white outfits). These mindsets are how she acts to the person she loves but doesn't know which one is better. When the fun side dances, the grocery shop is in chaos. When the shy side dances, the grocery shop is still in chaos. The train comes in and they arrive at an answer. In the end, she lets the mindsets coexist with each other and she has the best of both worlds (the fun and shy members dance together at the train station in last chorus).

Production, details, hidden details, effects, choreo musicality etc are all brilliant.. And the 9 angels of Twice bring it all together with their talents, personalities and beauty..

Probably the last of pure cute era Twice. I think these are the type of songs that when you go in hesitant about "cute" songs, it can reinforce the hesitation. I wasn't a huge fan of the snippets I heard in the past but when I sat down to really listen to the songs, I found myself liking them more and more (hehe). Definitely come around on Likey (which was filmed in Vancouver) a lot since I first heard it.
Can't wait for you all to hear the transition towards the newer stuff.
Likey was my first TWICE song. I was obsessed with the song then decided to do a deep dive and instantly became a ONCE...
It's like they said "Twice is a virus, happiness virus", and I agree, every time I watch something about Twice the smile comes easily to my face, and even though I'm having a bad day, that brief moment with the girls from Twice brings happiness in my life... Bro this is crazy but it's really true.
Likey is actually kinda dark if you read the lyrics. There's a great video called Likey explained that goes into detail. It's really a very clever video with a lot of symbolism.
There's also a symbolism of them doubling up in Heart Shaker - look it up.

I don't know if y'all realized btw, but Likey is about being expected to look flawless (especially on the Internet).
The lyrics used are pretty direct and the filters that were put on at certain times show the difference between Jihyo's camera (the camera that films the content that will be put up) and the staff's normal camera (the one without a filter, representing reality). And I don't know if it's a lucky coincidence or intentional, but the Likey move being the TT move the other way around could also refer to Jihyo's lines of hiding her sadness in the beginning.

Likey is my absolute favorite song from TWICE. The bridge, rap, dance break, catchy chorus and post chorus are amazing, but I especially love the message and how the mv portrayed it with how whenever the girls aren't on camera the world around is normal but when they are on camera everything is over saturated.

Twice is very conceptual group. They are so good that the fandom have a lot of theories about their songs. The lyrics, the vibe, the mv even their choreo, y'all will see a lot of symbolisms and the message they are trying to point out.

Likey is really a sad song about hiding all your pain and presenting yourself as perfect and happy and cute on the internet, so the ‘self-made but perfect’ vibe that the MV has was very purposeful, to highlight the fact that it feels real what they’re presenting, but it very much isn’t. This is also why so much of the video features camera’s and vlogging and stuff. The video was a lot more sad and thought through than I initially thought
Likey was truly ahead of its time and basically is the manifestation of what peak kpop was at the time. The song starting of with the chorus was crazy and still it gives you everything you want (rap, dance break, bridge) while keeping it so catchy. It was the first Twice song I heard and it still has a special place for me

if you notice in heart shaker mv, in the second chorus i think (all 9 of them dancing in the store wearing white and jeans) you can see Tzuyu almost tripped and Jeongyeon laugh at it.. that was awesome
