  • This is my second major set of testing of the MaestroDMX - this time against a multitrack recording. In this instance, the Maestro is receiving signal from the monitor out - the same as my little Roland AC-60 - so you can hear what's playing. The audio level is nicely green. I pushed up the kick sensitivity about halfway and was getting good kick indication.
The lighting still feels quite random. It is a little slow to stop and restart in reaction to breaks in the music and it doesn't help that things like the laser and mini-movers are on all the time.
I plan to do a lot more testing with which lights go in which group, what music and colour profiles work best for each group, etc.
On the plus side, I like the movement of the mini-movers. They feel coordinated and balanced. My previous show software was Freestyler which was either random, or all do exactly the same thing if in a group, when running sound-to-light. I also think the 2 sides were giving some good results.
I'm thinking about talking to a couple of my local bands and offering lighting at a gig, as I don't have festivals starting for a few months yet. Subscribe and like for more testing!! Thanks

I have a.i. lightshow, but also checking on getting Maestro DMX. Just waiting for moving heads to be fully supported with gobos and color wheels. A.i. lightshow those are supported. But i do want to see about making special scenes for first dance and so on

Hi. Thanks for commenting. We're hoping for the gobo and colour wheel support in the next few days. There's quite a good community over on Facebook and I'm pleased to say the company is active in there, replying and supporting us.
Scenes are pretty easy. For now, you can dictate the energy of the room, with different levels from static to busy on the 3 separate groups. It's easy to set colour schemes, etc. It obviously needs the full mover support, but I'm generally pleased with what I'm seeing so far.

I’m also using Maestro dmx. What pinspots do you use? I can’t get my ADJ LED quad DMX spots running other than as strobe and blinder. No RGBW. Mine are 6channels

Can you use maestro dmx with a pangolin / kvant laser?
