2008 to me will always be the most crazy year in WSOP history. The bad beats were insane some of the biggest in the history of the WSOP. it had the best fold in WSOP history (rominello folding Jack's full and being right). History was made with Eastgate, and hellmuth was the brattiest we ever saw him. 2008 was the greatest year in main event history.

      Yang was charitable.
      Moon worked in agriculture.
Gold is buddies with Johnny Chan and was hob knobbing with quasi celebs.

First hand with aq vs ak the ak should have shoved rather than called. Shoved or folded. The other player was better and ak is a tricky hand. If you're calling of a third of your stack preflop with ak you'd be better off shoving, it seemed obvious to me that the raising and re raising then re re raising with those hands was because they would rather take it down pre flop....ak.....shove its a tournament and some of these European players are hyper aggressive with a hand like ak stick it to em!😂

While I appreciate Pokergo for providing this, I have to admit I skipped a lot. Very much the commercialization of everything. The sponsor badges, the announcer, commercials and short clips every 20 seconds, and the 'November Nine' idea in general. It's a tough watch if you like to watch poker being played rather than marketed.

montgomery play vs demidov was icm suicide, not too mention just plain awful, he gave up like 4M in equity to be a big shot haha. His A4 play made no sense either so he is lucky to be there but wow.

I remember the Phillips Demidov AQ vs AK hand well. I think it was live streamed with no hole cards and everyone had to wait a couple of days until the ESPN packaged show to find out what they both had. There were some very long forum threads about it!

What a one-of-a-kind WSOP Main Event champion -- zero emotion when he won. And then, two years later, "Eastgate put his main event bracelet up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $16,000. It eventually sold for $147,500 and this money was donated to UNICEF" -- who does that?!

Of course PokerGo WSOP coverage won’t be as exciting. ESPN condenses down 100hrs of play into 90min segments. I still love you PokerGo.

I always thought the whole November 9 idea was bad overall (what if something happens to a final table player between July-Nov?), but it sure did make for great TV at the final table. All the hype gave the less dedicated poker fans to know the players so they could root for someone. I'm glad they did it, but I'm glad they got rid of it too.
