PITTSBURGH HAS PERSONALITY and pretty old buildings, hills, trees, wildlife, rivers, creeks, interesting terrain. I lived near SAN FRANCISCO in SANTA CLARA, CALIF until i moved to PITTSBURGH and visited most major cities west of the Mississippi at least once. phoenix, los angeles, alburquerque, seattle, spokane, portland, boise, reno/vegas, denver, lincoln, omaha, st louis, chicago, kansas city, billings montana, salt lake, des moines, vancouver canada, north/south dakota, wyoming,, north texas, oklahoma etc.. I like Pittsburgh the best.
I absolutely love you for this video.
Born and Raised in the Burgh and got married, left and ended up on the west coast... Even my hubby makes fun of me for talking 'weird' and being an East coaster. This made my day completely! It's soo good to see something that makes me feel so at home! thank you, thank you again!
When I lived in Chicago for a year, my girlfriend tried telling me I wasn't allowed to use Pittsburghese , she is now an ex-girlfriend and I'm back in Pittsburgh
u made a good choice
Smart choice!
Big win for the Nitnany Lions yesterday
Nittany Pride Pittsburgh doode yey now and days it's hard to find Pittsburgh RUclipsrs
Awesome she should learn her lesson
Admit it you find it fun to hold your breath going through long tunnels. ITS NOT JUST A PITT THING!
Just not the Squirrel Hill tunnel. You'll turn blue.
I LOVE Pittsburgh!!! I'm from NYC, and Pittsburgh is the most beautiful, amazing city EVER!!! Yinz guys don't know how great you have it.
"The name Neil O'Donnell sends you into an expletive filled tirade." ROTFLMAO
Ya, even though its been 20yrs I can never forget or forgive Neil O'Donnell!
Me too but I mainly learned that from my grandmother cause I was three at the time but I know what happened and I don't like it. BTW I'm still not ready to forgive Toussiant
More like an infinitely exponential expletive filled tirade! 🤣🖤💛
No other place represents all America has been, where it started, where it has come and where it is going. Its people came from around the world to build this city and give it a character, a personality and humanity like no other. Pittsburgh's people are its life -- its ongoing life.
Many of its people have now departed to all parts of the world. They haven't left the city, its character or its values behind; they've taken it all with them to share.
Pittsburgh is the center of the universe.
Good video! I remember Joseph Horne, Gimbel's, and Kaufmanns department stores. We didn't go to the movies, we went "to the show". Little girls didn't play paper dolls, we played "cut outs". Went to Isaly's for skyscraper cones. Best of all is Kennywood Park... lots of good memories there
How Fun! I've been away from my old hometown of Pittsburgh for 35 years and your video brought it all back to me! Delightful !
Thanks for giving me a piece of the 'bugh here in UK. Brought back a lotta memories and things I've not seen. Big snow of '93? late 50's was a lotta snow. My dad told me of '48 and the floods that followed. I miss Kennywood and all the fun there year, after year. Thanks for posting. CFN
Ah, the memories this brought back! Three Rivers, Kennywood, Carnegie Museum, PAT buses and trolleys, inclines, Primanti's, The "O", Church Brew Works...those were the days...and then, one by one, we all moved to the SF Bay Area. Yours truly was the last in our family to make the move. Been over ten years now, and still I miss the "Burgh. Thanks for posting1! GO STEELERS!!!
this is by far the best 9 minutes i have EVER spent on youtube. my hat goes off to you
8:17 = epic win! I've grown up in Pittsburgh since I was one, until 9th grade, and I plan to move back. And every time I visit, I always see that commercial, with the little ball bouncing over the words to help you sing along! Gotta love PGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Born in a taxi in the Tubes, 1955. Thanks for the great video.
This makes me so damn proud to be from the burgh :')
this is outstanding. thank you Skowronski Liz. this took me home
This is crazy nd soo true! I was born in Allegheny hospital smh. I love Pittsburgh
Gotta love the Steelers. I used to hang out with Mike Webster's kid all the time, he was originally from WI. RIP Big Mike, the only center ever to be an NFL hall of famer
Now I'm homesick! Thank you for making that. It is an awesome video!
Missing Three Rivers? My dad still mourns Forbes Field.
Only a real Pittsburgher can correctly spell both 'Monongahela' and 'Allegheny.'
Thank you, Showronski Liz. ;)
Brilliant!!
I laughed out loud throughout.
You got it down! 💗
While I was watching this, I was chuckling to myself. My dad was born & raised in Pittsburgh. He has a strong accent and does everything it says in this clip. Haha God Bless! :) it's 6-burgh now!
yinz did a real good job on this video....will watch it over and over...love from Ligonier
Been a long time since I was home but this really brought back a LOT of memories Great video Thanks. There's no place like the Burgh.
I can see the kwnnywood fireworks from my house and the school trips we walked 3 min to get to KW
I really enjoyed that blast from the past. Lots of memories there - Kennywood, jaggerbushes, KDKA, Kaufmann's and the Tubes. I moved away for Pittsburgh when Three Rivers was just about finished and now it's gone. There were things in the video that didn't exist back then. One thing you might want to add is Isaly's and chipped ham. And I was born in Shadyside Hospital, which wasn't included. One more thing - GO STEELERS!!!
I'm from Pittsburgh I recognize all the things yinz!
I tried to establish the parking chair thing after some jagoffs parked in front of my house. The wife ain't having it, though.
Hi Lizski
Thanks very much for the very stimulating and enjoyable bunch of Pittsburgh Pa photos and songs that supercalifragulisticexpialidociously make me so happy. Why????, cause I'm
from Pittsburgh since the mid 1940's and although I've wandered off, will be a Pittsburgher till the end of time. I immediately recognized most of the pictures and many of the song stuff, which is medically stimmulating for me as an "oldie but goodie".
Thanks For you and Pittsburgh.
PghKenny, (Ski) Polka guy
I LOVE this video!!! Makes me homesick everytime I watch it!!!
just got back to the Burgh, love this video. You can also add that most people from here don't know it's spelled BURGH. Nice work!
I enjoyed the video. It brought back many memories.
After I got a drink outta da spicket I realized yinz jag offs forgot bout wholeys, sunseri's, mancini's anat...I tied my mullet back in a gumband, put on my bucco's hat and told my ole lady...that after we go to pants n nat later, we gotta hop on the T and go to Parmani's. We saw Don Cannon there last month knockin back some rollin rock...Cant belive those jaggoffs left lay-trobe n nat...Keep postin video's of da burg...yinz guyz did good
Love it!!! Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane!
I Love the video. I grew up in Butler,PA. I still remember all the Pittsburgh cool things and the way we talk like no other. I live in Oregon now with my hubby who was originally from Cleveland. Alot of the people here say where is that accent from? I say, What accent? I am proud of my western Pennsylvania dialect. Thanks for the beautiful memories Kim 4d
That was great! I haven't been able to get home in such a long time. I must say some things I remember (and I'm old) were he clubs Heaven, 2001, 2002, The Library, The Holiday House in Monroeville and hanging out at Station Square. Salerno's Resturant, Playing kick the can, Paul Shannon, Chilli Billy, I was a Steel City Angel for a brief timeand the way I say radiator gets me laughed at other staes all the time.
I love the parking-spot chair! I never, ever saw that in my life until I moved to Pgh.
Awesome memories, moved to Ohio 19 years ago, and miss the 'Burg", that and putting up with Clowns and Bungals fans, they can't even talk football! Great job with he video!!
Born in Pittsburgh Hospital! Think Ghost Adventures went before it was torn dahn!
This actually made me cry a little. Pittsburgh, and proud of it. :)
THIS IS THE BEST FRICKIN' VIDEO I EVER SEEN ANYWHERE PERIOD!!!!!!!
Liberty Tubes, not tunnels! Where you from?
Pittsburgh In an awesome city lived here my whole life just bounced from The Mount to South Park then final stop Beechview. great video.
Congrats QuinnyBoy95 and ohso41! You two took part in the 10,000th argument I've ever seen on RUclips!!
God I miss home. The parts that made me really laugh is the part about holding your breath through the tubes. I was dying. Also "Century III Chevrolet, Lebanon Church Road Pittsburgh. Minutes from the Mall!". I thought they were gonna bring up the Laser Loop though. I still have my "I survived the Laser Loop" button. lol Oh, and the part about putting on DVE to listen to the game instead of the National Broadcast.
That video was exactly what being in picksburgh is like, i loved it
I felt like I was back home... hahaha. Love it!
well we cant wait for you to get the hell out. im glad you've adjusted so nicely.
I FRIGGIN' LOVE DA BURGH! Great job!
During the Blizzard of '93, I lived on Saint Lawrence Avenue in Swissvale. I trudged all the way dahn to the Co-Go's (next to where the Winky's used to be) to get some smokes! They were OPEN! Can't keep an old jagoff form his Winstons! P.S. I miss Jerome Bettis, He tenure was the ONLY time in Pittsburgh history that we had a bus tun reliably on Sundays!
You're not misplaced, BB! We know where we're at at all times. Welcome to Steeler Nation.
This is so great! This is the epitome of us burgh people
I'm moving to the Burgh this fall. I spent a summer there and now I'm looking forward to going to school there. I'm already quite familiar with Mrs. T's, due to my Polish background, so I should fit right in.
i didn't realize how much of a Pittsburgher i really was until i watched this video...i DO count the doors in the Liberty Tunnels every time i go through, i DO say N at after every sentence, and oh my god, Mineos is amazing.
lol I love this! lived here my whole life and couldn't imagine living anywhere else!
I grew up in Wilkinsburg too. We didn't say "yinz", but my cousins on the "Norsahd" and Bellvue did. My neighbors did redd up their yard. It's funny, even if you didn't day "Pixburgh and other quirky words, you were aware of them and in the back of your mind you knew they were a little strange, but you just accepted it as the way folks talked in certain parts of the city.
Feel old. We moved to Pittsburgh from southwestern Ohio when I was seven. Had no idea what my new friends' mothers were telling them to do when they said, "Read up your room!" Our school picnics were at West View Park. Lived across the Allegheny River from the Highland Park Zoo when that was the Pittsburgh Zoo's name.
and last year, i am in 6th grade, before the superbowl or whenever steelers went to the super bowl, my principal got everyone in the WHOLE school (which is grades kindergarten to 8th) to go to the gym and we all sang here we go steelers!! it was AWESOME!!!
also...You're from Pittsburgh if you know that "kennywood's open" means your zipper is probably down. lol
We'll miss you Myron Cope! Steelers games just aren't the same without you!
Warshed...My hair needs warshed not washed! lol, loved this.
I miss B94 now it's sports radio
Loved the video. I left in 65 and ended up in Michigan. I still say to people that I am not from here. We have a town that is slowly emptying of people. Like living in a ghost town. They have something there that people like.
"Your favorite store used to be Kaufmann's" !! LOL That is dead on..I still call Macy's that!
Hell ya it is!!! I had to move to Houston from the Burgh and I miss it every day.
You're from the burgh if... you keep playing this video just for the songs.
I LAUGHED SO HARD AT THE EDGAR SNYDER THING OMG 😂😂
its such a good vibe in the 'burgh...being surrounded by such diehard loyal fans! : )
You're from Picksburgh if you love chip tam
From Isaly's!
Its pittsburgh til i die i love this place so proud to be from here north braddock in the house love all of the 412
Wow this is very good. Yins nailed it
My mother wouldn't allow me to play outside if I didn't redd up my room.
The Creature from the Black Lagoon was one of my favs on Chiller theater.. It was late at night, we were sleepy and we couldn't stop laughing at that stupid looking rubber suit the "creature" wore. Such fun. Chilly Billy made it even more fun.
wow that perfectly describes me, can't tell anybody how many times i've been on the Pitt Fall, like 800000000000000000000 times, Pittsburgh is the best place in the world, hands down, will always be my home
I found when I travel a few hundred miles away that not only don't people use gumbands, but they don't know what soap powder is- nor do they eat City Chicken - my favorite meal....
ha! u r so rite!...i actually just visited the burgh to see my family...it was a blast ..i miss it
yeah, but you'd never guess the way they've been playing for the past 10 years or so
LOL "You've taken taken deliberate field trips to the Andy Warhol museum and Carnegie Science Center."
So true!
That was great fun~! One thing I wish they had mentioned in Kennywood was the old "Noah's Ark" .
lol...love that city..i went on the incline for my first time, it was great time to see it again
born in Philly, raised in South Jersey, but a Pittsburgher at heart!!! I LOVE PITTSBURGH!!!!
this video is so true! haha I love it. Its funny because i go to college in Ohio and no one really understands what im saying (hoagie, jimmies, jaggerbush, jag off etc) and this video just made my day!
giants eagle is the dirtiest but greatest store ever, especially in johnstown, and i love the smiley cookies too
I forgot about this video. :) Love it! We're prahd o' da place we come from.
I was not only on the Steel Phantom int its first season, I was on the LASER LOOP in its first season, Hell I was on the LOG JAMMER in its first season. I'm old, LOL.
I lost it when you said about the killing your brain cells through the tubes lol
I miss Point Park. I couldn't get to it last time I was back home because the streets were all torn up, as usual.
@krayzheman Agreed, sir. Hey, I have a question, ever since hockey season started up, have you had this terrible itch on you back? Like, so bad you need a tool from the shed to take care of it? Do they make something for that?
wow...that brings me back! I was born at the old Pittsburgh hospital and lived in Pittsburgh for 29 years, before moving to Baltimore (which sucks). God I miss Pittsburgh!
Go Steelers! Go Pens! Go...wait, do we have a baseball team anymore?
When some of your teachers taught your or your friends' parents. Seriously, most people never leave.
You know ur from Pittsburgh when u can't get anywhere without going up/down a hill
I love big Mike also, I met him when I was a kid, great great man, and a very large man. But don't forget, we got Dermotti Dawson now in the Hall of fame also. Pittsburgh OWNS the hall of fame.
Hell yeah, I miss the burgh. I was Born in J-town (Johnstown) but spent a lot of my teen years hangin' in the Burgh. Anyone else remember the "O"? And the Monroeville Mall? Not to mention going to Idewild and Storybook lol. God I am homesick. I live up north near Olean NY now. ANd you forgot, Tartar sauce with fries, baby! LOLZ This Takes me back so much. ANd the Blizzard of '93..lol. I got days off in my senior year due to that lol. God bless the burgh, and GO STEELERS! #6 this year n'at'
The best seven years of my life were there. I miss that place!
OMG....I saw this video and I couldn't stop laughing...I've been living in FL for a year now and miss home sooo much. I saw this video and it was like YEEEESSSSS!!! That's me and man I miss Pittsburgh. You can keep LA, NYC and Paris....Pittsburgh's the best!!! Go Steelers!
this just made me sooo homesick!!!
Great video, I Loved it and had my two sons watch it. We have lived in San Diego for the last 10 years, and though the weather and the women are beautiful, it can't compete with my beloved "burgh". Though both of my sons were born here, they consider themselves from Pittsburgh, plus they are both named after Steelers, my sons middle name is Lamber for Christ's sake. Now please please, someone send me a Mancinis loaf. Plus all of the jagoffs in Cali are soft, LETS GO PENNNNNNNSS!!!!!
I thought they had shut down one of the inclines when I lived there from 1968-70.
Go Bucs !
I can't believe it took 7 minutes to have something about the penguins in there! lol
I luv the burgh. It's the best town ever. I never realized how much stuff was so native to Pittsburgh! :D It 's great tho!
GO STILLERS!
"Driving in the winter is better because the potholes are filled with snow" hahahahaha winning...
