I've been so annoyed with that there is no perfect one. I was making a perfect Muunilinst 10 gunship similar to these designs before they dropped but this is so accurate I'm giving up and buying them
I love how the UCS version added incorrect minifigs (they wanted the clone commander to be the pilot etc) and it wasnt even minifig scale Like that thing is huge
This model is amazing and imo outdoes the UCS version in everyway especially for display as it's to scale so you can put troopers inside. I also love the brick built cockpit over the molded cockpit, but that's just preference.
@@namialus1376 Yeah, My issue is that lego purposely made it 2x scale when they have done to scale UCS sets (for example the UCS Naboo Starfighter). I know it's purely personal preference, but I think minifigures help display sets, there's a reason why the UCS millennium falcon comes with so many figures that can actually be used in the set.
This, in my opinion, is the single best piece you guys have released yet. Yes, that includes the ISD. These builds are perfect, genuinely and undeniably perfect.

It also uses quite a few illegal building techniques in the wings. I wouldn't say this a weak model, but it does have some weaker points like the doors and wings. If you want something for MOCs, then this is for you. If you want something to play with, I would say the old version of the brick vault gunship is good for that. I personally don't have it, but their video on it shows that it is very strong and well built.
This is what I wanted from the UCS version. The only downside to a custom model is not getting printed domes for a cleaner set of ball turrets, but I think I like the Clone Wars model better anyway.
The one thing I was waiting to see/hear in your video was the handling/stability of the model in hand. Are there any bits that are weak and fall off? Can the model be handled very much at all, or is it only for stationary display? How strong are the door connections? Do they fall off or detach easily? How does this compare to his previous model in size? Otherwise, great video and great builds by David! Cheers.
Great designs, easily the best republic gunship I’ve seen in Lego although I feel that the ball turrets on the episode two model are a little over -sized.
You forgot to do the handling part showing us how strong it is in certain areas also I liked it when you showed the model next to some of your other builds so we can get a sense of size
I'm so happy to have bought the bundle and already buildt the Ep. II version. All I now need is more money for (at least) the Muunilist 😅. But my AAT MOC and a landing platform comes first.
I kinda like the shape of the old one better. Not saying there aren't improvements here, but I find the other one is a bit more rounded off in the front, which looks better in my opinion
I have the ucs set and I’m not digging it. It’s too big. Is it possible to build this moc using the ucs version plus a few extra items? Or will I need and extensive amount of extra pieces ?

Thing is if lego had done one of these without Cody no one would care but the fact they made a meh gunship with no Cody is what people don't like, I would buy these before even thinking about the ucs version

If you’re showing it with clone troopers, this is also size accurate, where the ucs model is 2x scale
