I get a lot of great ideas from your videos, but I was wondering if you could show more of the build-up of the subassemblies and flash clean-up instead of the spraypainting. That way we could see if we will have any minor problems. Love your videos and your "build it for YOU" attitude. Keep up the great work!!!
Nice! Little to no PTSD was experienced. We had a recoilless rifle at our facility at Kandahar airfield that also was a US issue. Used in Korea and captured by the Chinese. Sold to the mudjahadeen. Simple and effective. I do love the work you do and I like how you stand up for the first-timers.
Chris I ALWAYS learn something new with every-single-one of your videos! Let those haters keep on hating, YOU keep on doing what you do so us non- haters can learn something new we can enjoy for years to come!!!!
Very cool 🤠, not long ago I came a cross these cars in google and started wondering making one but then I could not figure out suitable gun for it. Well here it is😄 mpc kit has it, now I will go to local model shop for shopping!
I have this kit and it's just about on deck. I'm glad I got to watch you build it first. Awesome job. Thanks! Lots of cool ideas you came up with for it.
I like Aoshima looks but I can't get over no engine. No engine has stopped me from trying their kits, but I am curious about their GPX line. Especially when I'm getting ready to try and build the revell Shelby series 1. The Shelby comes in at 107 pieces and a few extra tid bits like: brake booster & master cylinder, battery+battery top, overflow tank and some of the nicest Goodyear brand low profile vinyl tires I've seen produced in that year.
When I was in Afghanistan the company I worked for had 3 Hilux king cabs. We raised the bed walls with armor and we mounted a Dshk on one of them and a 240 on one. We left the other plan but dressed it up with some local garb. It and the 2 taxis we had blended in perfect which made us very successful. We armored them up the best we could. You can put those things through hell and they just kept going. Hell the one we left plane had over 200,000 miles on it and ran like a champ. We had the best mechanics out of all the defense contractors in Afghanistan. Other companies would bring stuff to fix.
cool video, i have 3 of the real versions of this truck, i am doing a long frame and bed conversion to one of them, and the one i have that runs and drives sure gets looks , the longbed conversion i am building will have a ford 302, and special built dana 44 axles
I know you said you're having a hard time finding 2x black primer. Check your local Ace hardware .all the ones in my area are always loaded with Rust-Oleum 2X primer and colors.
Check out black and grey automotive primers too. Not metal etching primers. These work good too. Remember to wash your parts with mild soap/simple green etc., Before primer/painting. Great videos and techniques!! Build on!!
@@hpiguy Also I'm not sure if you have an Ollie's bargain outlet where you live but lately I've been getting rustoleum and plastikote primer there for a 1.99 a can!they also sell krylons and all sorts of weird named brands Ive never seen before.
That was amazing Chris!! Those dints and windscreen and the sand! Amazing diorama and story buddy. Thanks again for your hard work man. Really appreciate it mate ☺️👍
Awesome work on the Toyota Hilux Chris!! I really got a kick out of that story about the Taliban buying a truck with a plumbing company's name and number still on it hahaha!
A great kit indeed and, you did a phenomenal job on it... I need advice on the best/cheapest heat gun available I, have the academy pony model I want to make it look dented up, badly rusted and just overall crappy looking can you help me with this project???
@@hpiguy That's ultimately what I will do but I, can't afford to at this time... I'll probably try using a lighter for the Maxwell house Nascar I'm currently working on... Thanks for the advice bro'... Enjoy your awesome tundraesque weather and stay safe my friend...
That’s such a cool model. My friend has one so I’m looking to get him a model for fun. Think his a 6th gen 2004 so I’ll have to check as this looks like 5th. What the music at the end? I like it.
You're so right about the aoshima model kits and how detailed they are, I've got two aoshima 1:48 scale plastic model airwolf helicopters and two aoshima 1:24 scale plastic model knight 2000 model cars, great build on the Toyota hilux that's one of my favorite small pickup trucks😊❤👍
Everyone is. Since the refineries had issues with production after storms and freeze outs they don't have petroleum distillates to sell tot he paint companies., Hence the shortage.
modelroundup used to have my truck but it doesnt seem like they do anymore which stinks... i wish it was brought back out so i could buy it' it was the 1999 dakota and mine is a 2000 but still the second gen
@@michaelupton3107 yeah my truck is a club cab and i know there are diecast models but for me plastic is easier to work with but anywhere i look those models are either expensive, out of stock, or on a sketchy place to buy
Great Job ! CHRIS...... Fit the story completely. Like you I also remember that news story . On another note to another of your videos. It looked like you were having a blast with the RC boat. As I have said in the pass Keep Carrying On!
Top notch Chris! I've always used automotive primers on my builds and honestly didn't even think about the potential for a bad reaction with the plastic.

I love that I had an idea for a short film and someone has done it superbly. Gotta love youtube.

Smoked a few of those with Strykers and Bradleys. 🤣 Good model, spot-on replication. 👍🏻
Oh yeah!
The company logo is priceless! 🤣
I remember seeing that on Facebook. Great build

Perfect timing. I was just looking at this one at the local hobby shop yesterday.

Nice tactical vehicle. Needs a bullet hole or two, maybe one through the spot light. Keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching.

Alot of Japanese car kits tend to be curbside models for some reason. Maybe they like the option to convert the model to being motorized? 🤔🤔🤔
Nice job Chris I always enjoy watching your videos thank you sir!!
Thanks!
Looking awesome

Your bills are so interesting Chris always love the subject matter no matter what you build that was a nice one done on this model 👍👍

I may have missed it, but how do you set the grout so it doesn't just rub off?
I don't. Unless you play with the model or haul it to shows it stays on the truck.
Nice kit. I want to get one and with the right hand drive I'd make an Australian outback beater out of it.
Thanks!

This could be an entry in the next "Model Build Shoot Out". Son of a gun, this is a nice build. Thanks for sharing...

Do you ever strip your crome pieces before you paint them???
You can if you want to, yes.
A great kit indeed and, you did a phenomenal job on it... I need advice on the best/cheapest heat gun available I, have the academy pony model I want to make it look dented up, badly rusted and just overall crappy looking can you help me with this project???
I use a lighter.
You can get heat guns what work well from Tower Hobbies or Harbor Freight.

Now that is ingenious. Thinking out of the box as usual. Great build!

How do you strip rustoleum spray paint? nice build btw
Super Clean will take it off.
You do such a great job! I think the shortage of 2X black primer is because of people like me trying out your suggestions and liking it.😄😄
Right?
I talked about Bright Coat Chrome one week and the next time I went to Walmart they were sold out.

GREAT! Now I HAVE to have THIS one too!! Nice build and fun video. It's true, people are stupid.
Thanks!
And yes, they sure are.
Another great build! And, yes, spray paint of all types are another victim of supply-chain issues.
Yeah, the refineries aren't making as many petroleum distillates so the paint companies can't make spray paint.
I wonder if it would be easier for you if you had your masking tape on one of those things that scotch tape comes on?
Great idea for a build - love your back stories, always so much fun to hear.
Glad you like them!

I've made quite a few Coke machines on here.
I seen some sweet curb side modes before right out of the box before but this one looks top of the line #1
Thanks!
Thats alot of work it's something different might half to buy it

It's right hand drive so it's from Australia, England or Japan.
