Finally how to video where I don't have to listen to someone telling me their life story before they get on with showing me what I am watching the video to see in the first place.
Prepare your work area, put your favorite music, a good chair and just enjoy your work. If you have a small electric sander(like an orbital sander or a vibrator sander) you can speed up the process considerably. Once you have the first one polished the new molding will be polished too. Good luck and have fun!
This is the process, for sure.... but it doesn't have to be so exact and time consuming, every time, unless you messed up when you're working with epoxy. You don't always have to go grit by grit, from a 400 to a 10,000. Work your way there but always finish with a 10k and a polish. I generally start at 1000 grit. Go to 3000, then 5000, then 10000, then finish with a polish. But the key is to not have mistakes before starting. If you get a bug or a hair or a bubble because you didn't use your heat gun... start at 150.
This must be the only video i have ever seen where someone explains how to do this properly unlike other people who have never showed me properly how to get a good shine like this and I use epoxy resin all the time and have tried so many times to get it right over and over again and still i can't get it to come back again like this super shine and just stays dull and scratched looking and cannot see through it
Thanks for sharing. I’m curious what it looked like before? Is this method used if something is dull and scratched? Can certain sanding grits be skipped to polish quicker? Thank you.
This video is the most basic polishing video. If you have a power tool, you can speed up the polishing process. If your resin works have small scratches, you can even start from 2000 😊
I know I'm very late, but if you try to sand something rough with fine grit sandpaper, the sandpaper will clog really quickly, so you'd essentially be wasting it.
