Because short videos doesn't produce as much money as longer ones because of watch times. Thats why youtubers who make actual short vids like this are to be respected.
Destroying doors using melee combat (just beat the door, not disassemble it) will also level up maintenance too, because hammers don't break when hitting doors.
No point in grinding unless you took Handy for that +1 skill and +75% xp boost. Default xp rate for all skills is 25%, so effectively 4times xp. Without the skill you'll reach a natural barrier due to amount of xp needed to level. After killing about 2500 zombies with axes and bats I am almost at lvl 4 at default rates.
To explain why this is good advice: the crowbar has the lowest chance to lose durability, meaning you have a high chance per attack to gain maintenance skill.
Whoa, that's actually excellent. I was told the Crowbar was the best but, horrible Stone Axes? What a nightmare! Yet great information I did not know about!
The crowbar doubles as a nice way to get a few early maintenance levels and a durable early game weapon, but I'd imagine it would get a lot slower to level it up by killing zombies after level 4 or 5
You take off and put on one of each component of each car per 24h period. Battery, doors, windows, lights, tires, brakes etc. Time consuming, but not hard.
Better method that’s a bit unrealistic. Take a car, park the drivers seat next to a garage door. Roll the window down and equip a metal pipe. Start hitting the garage door until you have high maintenance. 👍🏻
One of the best and the safest way to level up maintenance is by pushing a door while holding a weapon. Combined with the fast learner trait, you can quickly level up to level 2 maintenance in a single day
This is no longer viable because chipped stones have disappeared from the face of earth. I found a couple stones, but chipped stones I have yet to find one since the introduction of the new system.
Yeah you pretty much only find them on roads now due to the new foraging system. They briefly added a system that spawns chipped stones on the stone sprites in the forest which made it easy to find them again and then removed it the next patch.
There is a mod on the workshop called Chip A Stone. Pretty QOL mod so you dont lose your mind over having an abundance of regular stone but no luck with chipped stone
My understanding is when an item is used as a weapon and no durability is lost your character will gain maintainance xp, or when an item is used as a tool for an action that results in durability loss your character will gain xp.
30 seconds, no annoying intro, concise and to the point. Well done mate and thanks for the useful tip!
reminds me of Emerald Kings videos i really recommend his project zomboid vids
Also a bonus is the lack of the annoying "HELLO EVERYBODY" faux happiness youtuber voice. You know the one.
@@antipsychotic451 Who is it?!
No ill intentions, just asking genuinly, as I got into PZ recently and browsing certain channels now. :)
Agreed
For some reason this video is remarkably quiet for me. What the heck?
Short, sweet. To the point. Why can't all tips videos be like this. A+. 12/10

really ?
I hope this is real. I'm gonna try it thx.
And also btw my maintenance also increase when I push zombies.
@@Hero4fun77 That's an interesting mechanic, whenever you push a zombie with a weapon equipped it increases maintenance
Just remember, jetfuel hammers don't melt steel doors 😂
Instructions not clear!
>Took drugs
>Killed bear
In Russia, cocaine bear kill you

Short, sweet, and to the point. No intro longer than the video itself.
A+content more people need to be like you.
Awesome video- very concise and I learned a lot from it!
Great video! Randomly popped up in my feed. 😂
i found out that building wooden crates then destroying them with a metal bar does a very good job at lvling maintenance.

If you hold a weapon and stomp a zombie maitenance will also increase.
You'll also do increased stomp damage if you have levels in that weapon type.
Just fight zeds with a crowbar. Thank me later

@@Bailol That and the chancetolowercondition is a stupid high number. Seriously this thing vanilla comes more durable then an Axe
@@BurritooMafia by a long way. Crowbars are exactly half as likely to lose durability on attack than axes AND have twice as much total durability.
@@Bailol man good thing I found 4 crowbars in the riverside warehouse. I’m set for a few months now lol
Crowbars are the best weapon for grinding this! They have the lowest chance of losing durability.
Crowbars are one of the best weapons in te game, decent damage, and incredible durability, and blunt.
Nice tip. I'll have to work on this.
When I first started playing I thought that the maintenance skill I was gaining is because I kept washing my bloody weapons.
Whoa, that's actually excellent.

Legit I have power level this to level five in my current playthrough because of the sheer volume of zombies I have to wade through
Would love to see more of this ❤
is it possible to do for mechanics next? imo the hardest to lvl up

@@highadmiral613 oh wow I’ve just been doing the wheels and lights
Forage, make low dura stone axe, use them to chop tree = profit
great vid. optimal length. make your voice sound a bit louder plz. beside that 10/10

You level maintenance by pushing as well
So which is better? Spear user didn't have maintenance exp boost and logger had 2 initial levels giving a +100% boost.
Making a new video to reflect the changes to foraging. Unless you have a ton of axes on hand chopping trees isn't viable for maintenance grinding.
Great video but the volume feels too low to me, I had to put the volume at max on my phone to hear it.
Thank u
👍👍👍

That is not a catch 22?
The video is very quiet sir.

I am confused, you say you gain skill if no durability lost but cutting trees is extreme durability lost...
My understanding is when an item is used as a weapon and no durability is lost your character will gain maintainance xp, or when an item is used as a tool for an action that results in durability loss your character will gain xp.
@@MrKillerMichael thanks!
Argably.
I love choosing repairman as my occupation. The two levels in maintenance and the subsequent exp bonus is really nice.
Where is the volume ?
And only russian version provides to do it with pushing a door or tree barehanded😅😅
