guys, the chess bot is a bot. not really an AI in the way you think it is. If you play a game exactly the same way twice, it will respond to each and every move in the exact same way. It has a certain way of figuring out how it should play and won't reallt deviate from it.
the fix is simple though just add a little random noise to the decision making? has chess.com really not discovered the arcane technology of randomly choosing between completely identical moves evaluation wise?
@@alexanderfriton3713 Doing that risks adding or subtracting from it's complexity I bet. Premoving an entire game even against martin without any tricks would still be hard because even martin can see mate in one. Look guys. I guess his strategy was he played him sometimes and wrote the moves on a paper and then just premoved. (Well that's my guess and I am not here to disrespect Jack.)
I mean the only way you would be able to premove an entire game is if you know the patterns very well, if he does a move that he's not able to predict then he wouldn't be able to premove that much because it wouldn't be possible. When gotham played himself you see him complain about making the same opening move 3 times in a row. Robots are more predictable than humans in that way. How many times did he play this bot before? It doesn't say it was his first time. You know what would blow everyone's minds? beating an IM with premoves. (e.g writes out all of his moves before the game even starts.)
Interesting. I expected the bot to employ some kind of markov model for the first couple of moves, maybe for certain identifiably similar circumstances as well. This also raises the question of wether they adjust the difficulty by playing the same blunders and how the system determines that it is in fact time to blunder. This is both fascinating to watch (and think about somebody actually did this) and making me curious about the chess.com bots' inner workings.
i think they have like several models for bots, (e.g. classical, aggressive, earlyqueen, solid etc), and they just plop a different elo on each one. As we can see the bots don't play with variation, as chess.com doesnt want to put the effort to make it deviate.
