I left a comment that was deleted by this channel. Apparently New York Magazine doesn't want actual WOMEN to have an opinion about them abdicating the word "woman" in a discussion about pregnancy....which of course involves WOMEN. Unbelievable.

@@justynaledzka-tomar7335I assume you’re being facetious....If not, the use of the generic word ‘people’ in this context is a deliberately political decision, simply to please a tiny minority of men who want to be accepted as women. Feminists believe that the avoidance of using the word woman to define females will eventually lead to the erasure of women’s sex-based rights. So it matters. Only women can give birth.

@@FiReadsBooks I know the reason behind the use of these words, but I'm not sure why some people (women) are offended. Trans women can't give birth. Equally, some biological women can't give birth either due to various reasons. This doesn't make them any less of a woman. Also, what about people who are biological females, but choose to identify as males and decide to get pregnant and give birth? If it's their decision to call themselves men or trans, then why take it away from them?

@@justynaledzka-tomar7335 I thought you did, but you’re “not sure why...women are offended”? Again you’re being facetious and dishonest. The only people who are offended here about the use of the word ‘woman’ are men, because they’re not included in that discourse. This is just another form of patriarchy, and feminists recognise this.
It is particularly important for women’s education around healthcare (as in this article), that generic terms such as ‘people’ are avoided, to ensure that women everywhere are properly informed. I shouldn’t need to say this, but it is deeply offensive to women who have had miscarriages or are infertile to be referred to as people in this context. But you know that (I get the impression you are very young, uneducated, or are in fact male. Otherwise you would not use that argument). I notice it is always men (Transwomen) who are upset by the use of ‘women’. Articles written about the importance of men’s health, such as those about prostate cancer, don’t seem to attract criticism or objection from women (Transmen) who feel upset because they don’t feel included.
Trans is an ideology that doesn’t just try to neutralise language (for men’s feelings), but erase women’s rights. Women’s rights are based in law, have been fought long and hard for and are there to safeguard and protect women and children. You know this.
In addition, Trans ideology is homophobic and akin to gay conversion therapy. It is somehow more acceptable to homophobic parents when their teen declares themselves ‘born in the wrong body’ than their being sexually attracted to the same sex.
Gender, i.e., what ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ behaviours and preferences are, is a social construct. Liking the colour pink, wearing a dress, wearing makeup, having bits added to or removed from you body, etc do not transform a man into a woman. There are and have always been ‘boyish’ girls (tomboys) and girlish boys. Trans ideology suggests these children are ‘born in the wrong body’ and pushes the idea that the psychological condition known as ‘body dysmorphia’ is somehow evidence that they are Trans. This is insane and dangerous. There is now a massively disproportionate number of teenage girls who have been persuaded by this madness to undergo hormone therapy and puberty blockers under the auspices of this appalling movement - see Tavistock.
Declaring yourself a woman, if you are not in fact female, does not make you a woman. Just as declaring yourself black does not make you black if you are in fact white (see Rachel Dolezal). The Trans movement does not argue this, yet cannot see the very obvious parallel.
‘People’ can dress how they please, perform how they like, and be recognised for their existence, but women’s sex-based rights are for women only. We will not be erased.

@@FiReadsBooks I agree with most of the points. Personally I don't think that individuals should change sex pre-puberty. Of course gender is a social construct, but what has it got to do with the fact that women are also people? Just wanted to point to the fact that the term can be used interchangeably. To be honest, I felt a little offended, as your comment sounded more like "women are not people". Also don't feel like I have to prove to anyone that in fact I am a woman or that I have a university degree. To me, it just sounds strange and 'anti-feminist" that when somebody refers to women as 'people' would be seen as an affront.

„Those theoretical risks are very low“....really??? You are telling this to your patients when it never has been tested on pregnant women? What kind of doctor are you? This vaccine has hardly been tested on grown adults. That is highly irresponsible to give this woman screen time. I’m shocked !

After reading the asinine replies in this comment section, I understand why she spent 5 years of post graduate work in order to make informed decisions. Selluwud Selluwud I’m sure she has heard about previously approved medication that then turned out to be catastrophic for the health of the unborn child...Contergan/Thalidomide springs to mind. This vaccine has hardly been tested at all....and neither the manufacturers nor the governments want to be liable, if anything goes wrong🤷‍♀️

@@juliemar3 No, we live under a rock. Please, although not completely understood, the mechanics and chemistry of human biology has advanced exponentially many times since the days of thalidomide. That drug was the reason why we have all the testing protocols and safety reviews by the FDA in place today. Getting a drug through test trials and approval is a massive and expensive undertaking. The reason these vaccines are available so quickly are the result of the government pumping the kind of money into it that the pharmaceutical companies weren't able to do alone. I'd rather my daughter take the vaccine than catch covid and lose her baby.
