@@izder Except you weren't there.
Imagine being 5 years old & having a color movie taken of you only to have to wait 60 years to watch color movies yourself.
60 years? The first commercially produced color film was released in 1908, five years after this footage was created. Dozens of color films were released in the 1920s.
Most televisions didn’t have color though
Still looks better than my pc graphics

No. It's a video of the film.
i think it's amazing that the first color film in the world is so psychedelic
that feels like some sort of message in itself
If I can wax for a moment:
We can imagine it as an enlightenment by its psychedelic visuals. We are seeing the world in a new light, especially when you consider how it changed the viewing of media. It takes time to adjust, and soon, it will all be clear and perfect.

That baby has a full life and lived through war and depression before your grandmother was born
And there’s a possibility that a relative of that kid is reading this…hi!
Yeah she is My grandmother's Grandma . She died recently back in 1998 .
That little girl swinging in there must have been older than my great grandmother.
That is very possible.
My great grandmother was born in 1901. Crazy to think as well that those little children were older than her.

@@tyl3r336 Mine were born in the 1870-80-90s. (I'm 34). So they were either kids or adults by this time.
This is not the first color video. This is the first color film. Video was invented many years later.
Christopher Thorkon this is the earliest we have discovered
BUT IT'S NOT ON VIDEO TAPE!
Whats the different between video and film? Before you answer this question, ask yourself if it really matters!
Footage Factory originally, film was a bunch of different photos condensed down to resemble a video, but nowadays it pretty much is just another word for video.
@@dillydilly3680 you clearly didn't understand their comment
1900s kids: This is not an experience until you project this onto a wall and a historian to give live context.
Here is an explanation to how they did this: They used aniline dyes dissolved in water and alcohol. Artists used four main colors: magenta, bright yellow, orange and blue-green. By mixing them in various combinations, they could produce more than 20 unique colors and hues.
It brings me so many memories...
You have seven days to live after watching this film.
XDD
Nice horror
Ok kill me. Fufill your destiny

Nuh uh
And the first color photography was taken on 1861
Yep. Crazy to think about when the first color photo was taken in 1861 and this was recorded in 1902
it crazy to know i can't remember this in years only 1999 born kids will remember this because they do it
What was bro tryin to say 💀💀

???
Edward turner filmed these, died the next year. The girl is his daughter agnus turner (1896-1920) also died young. But besides that he used primary color filters to film this in color
Actually they didn't use color filters we have today: They used aniline dyes dissolved in water and alcohol. Artists used four main colors: magenta, bright yellow, orange and blue-green. By mixing them in various combinations, they could produce more than 20 unique colors and hues.
P.S/Oh and/By the way (Whichever you prefer) looks like Agnus turner has been dead for 103 years and Edward turner has been dead for 120 years
That scarlet macaw could easily have outlived all of them. I wonder what happened to it?
It is crazy how they invented in this YEAR i thought they made in like the 1920s or 30s
The person who created this film, Edward Raymond Turner was able to record in color, using green, red, and blue. The problem is, he was unable to display or project this film in color. Edward created a projector, but it did not work. Years later, it was discovered, and computers were used to bring the film back to life. No one knew this was the first color film until it was computerized, because it was unable to be projected at the time.
Just add creepy music and more static and people will think they got bad luck for the rest of their lives from watching this
This is so old but golden
This is a film movie not a video. Not only can you hear the projector in the background, but there were no videos.back then.

No joke this is creepily surreal.
I thought the first color film wasn't invented until the mid-1930s.
That's what most of the world thought until recently. This was discovered a couple of years ago in the UK. The guy who filmed it had no way of displaying it. He had a projector but it didn't work properly. For all these years we didn't know that this was the first color film until they reconstructed it using a computer, based on the way it would have been projected. It was filmed using three different colors that were combined together to make a color film.

Now that you mention it. It is a bit haunting, since everyone in this video (especially the goldfish and parrot) are all gone
Do you have any more info about where this was filmed?
This was filmed by Edward Raymond Turner in 1902, from his back garden of his house on Montague Road, in Hounslow in West London UK. At least, according to Wikipedia, which had a reference to the BBC, who released this footage to the public.
The sad truth is no one is alive among them today .

It was pretty experimental, the tech wasn't there. Its like in 1994, I could watch a "tiny" video on the internet, but "Why didn't we have RUclips?" Want to wait 10-15 minutes for the postage stamp sized video to cache and play? The early color movies took insanely bright, hot lights and special cameras as well.
