- Dating is hard, especially in China, where there are about 33 million more men than women. Some Chinese men are looking outside of the country to fill the nation's gender gap, and possibly a space in their hearts.
We went to a matchmaking event in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai where eligible Chinese bachelors paid $880 to try to meet the woman of their dreams.
Many of the women came from Russia and Ukraine, nations home to women that some Chinese men consider "exotic." We spoke to them and their possible future wives about why they chose to date across the culture gap.

Russia definitely is a European country; they happen to have colonized and absorbed a large portion of Central Asia and all northern Asia(Siberia) hence 19% of their population being non-European.
Well when im in the North the people south of me are Southerners and when im in the West people East of me are Easterners... Not a very bright one i have gathered.

This seems like such an awkward event for Chinese men to meet Eastern European women.
