I feel like that ending is where you do a massive workout and you're literally dying and holding on at the end just to keep the pedals moving, then after like 30 minutes you think back on it like "what's my problem I could've easily knocked out another 600-800 watts!" totally forgetting the feeling of complete death that was happening at the end.

So true like the cat 6s going out for a KOMs but once you put people around them attacking got to have control in the turns and strong kicks out of corners. They'll flounder when the just put under pressure. But racing isn't for everyone though a lot of time and dedication on the bike an lots of time driving on the road to races week in and out.

Wish we had these kinds of videos back in the late 80’s when I was learning to ride crits- I might have left a little less skin on the pavement.

Great race commentary enjoy all your video's! At the speed you guys are going I see a majority of the riders pedaling through the corners do you know if any of the riders or yourself drop down in crank length at all, meaning like 167.5mm or 165mm's? I started riding 165mm for crits a few years back and it made a big difference on pedaling though and quicker accelerations! I'm 56 now so I need all the help I can get! Again great job with the voice overs!

I watched a race where a couple guys crashed and one got like half their face torn off. The race was stopped for like 20 minutes because the ambulance took a while to get off the course. Anyway there was a break like 10 seconds up the road from the peloton that the one pro in the race had worked for like 20 minutes to bring back. The officials screwed up the timing and gave the break like 20 extra seconds, and shortened the race because it was going to get dark. The only pro, Ben Wolfe, put the pain on again and my teamate who was like 4th wheel said he was doing like 300watts just to stay in position. They never ended up catching the break and a bunch of people were pissed at the officials

Hey guys quick question: what power meter do you guys use and can you recommend a good cheap(ish) power meter.
I've just been going off my gps power meter which estimates my power based on barometric pressure, gradient, weight of me + bike, and rolling resistance but I have no idea how accurate it is. Cause it says I'm putting out 1,200w on a casual ride which I don't think is right unless my casual ride is less casual then I thought 😂
Also love your videos guys keep it up. Love the pov and tips you guys put in every video!

@@StuckOnAFireHydrant Honestly, RPE is not a bad way to go. It really puts you in touch with your body, and you'll be able to pace really well. Before I got into power, I only trained on HR/RPE - drove 4 hours to go on a massive ride in the mountains, and barely 2 miles into my ride my GPS froze and went on the fritz. I ended up riding up the mountain with no data but paced it just right because I was in tune with my body. If you asked me to do that now, after 8 months of training on power...I dunno.
Regarding the PM, though, don't cheap out. What's the point of a $300 PM that isn't accurate, and you can't trust the #? Save up until you can buy a proven one, which generally start around $400.

It’s very different doing those speeds in a European race that isn’t flat as a pancake on fresh new tarmac. Still, super cool video though. Thumbs up.

Can I ask not that i would ever get to this level but are these cyclists pro/paid cyclists? Is this a full time gig?

Andy Dalton i was a cat 4 back in the 90s and did races that averaged 30 for an hour . The power you can produce with the momentum of the pack is a world away from riding alone . That said you a;so have to have the head for riding at speed in the pack .
