Absolutely howling at the pretty pie look 😂😂 great vlog, we're travelling the whole of Route 66 in our British motorhome and picked up some great tips for when we hit Texas, many thanks Julia and Gary 🥰
First of all, I'm loving the freedom of this episode. But I can get over the barb wire guy. I grew up in Texas and that's exactly how my Dad says wire. Accents are amazing!
We just got back from a Rt 66 road trip. Man! You brought all those feelings to life! Thanks for such a great video and thanks for all y’all do for Texas!! Loving this channel!!
I live two blocks off of Route 66. If you get to Las Vegas, New Mexico, give a holler and I'll take the day to show you the local old 66 charm. Side note: it is not a good meal if you can not hear the crackle of the arteries hardening as you eat it.
I used to go to Beefmaster Steakhouse in Ballinger Texas and hit the breakfast buffet on the weekend. Fill a plate with biscuits, two sausage patties, 4 slices of bacon, scrambled eggs and top it off with gravy. I called it the "fat boy special" Oh yeah... dust it with plenty of black pepper. Yummy!
We stopped at the U-Drop Inn Cafe last year. The gift store next door was closed, but the cafe was open. We had sandwiches while sitting in the same corner booth Elvis sat in (supposedly)
I really enjoyed the video. I stopped in groom Tx and checked out the Cross in 2010. It is amazing. Had lunch at steak house (72oz) didn't try it though. I did have rattlesnake bites. And Rocky mountain oysters. And they were alright. My wife wasn't to happy though. Hahaha. Ohh yeah back in 1990 I gotta speeding ticket on Vega. Hahaha.
Amazing we're doing Route 66 now and my husband Gary might do the 72 oz steak challenge... we're doing it in reverse LA to Chicago in a British motorhome 🤩
@@davidames9098 It's great to be connected to history, I think! Thanks for sharing it. I'll look up bb shinn wire. Maybe it was his name. I'll find out :) Thanks!
May not be proper place for this but how about Alvin tx home of Nolan Ryan 2 museums general store that has been under same family since 1920 strawberry farm there in same family for almost as long. Couple of restaurants that have been in town for over 50 years check it out. 20-30 minutes from Houston South
Until I was 20, I really thought it was called Bob waaarrrr

Now I want some coconut cream pie & ☕️😋
Never a bad time for coconut cream pie.
Route 66 goes right smack dab in middle of winslow, az. Just feet from eagles standing on the corner statue😁😁
Maybe some day I'll drive the entire thing.
Oh we're in AZ now doing the Route 66, will look out for that in Winslow...thanks for the tip 🤩
Went to golden light last night and had the Waller burger and ice tea. DELICIOUS! Well worth the stop. Thanks
if a guy listens carefully, he could hear your ventricles slamming shut as you clamped your jaws over that secret breakfast

We've just started Route 66 but in Reverse LA to Chicago... it's absolutely awesome isn't it 🤩
The various statues around the Big Cross are "The Stations of the Cross", a Catholic Easter Tradition.
Cool episode.

Cafe wasn't open with food when we went. I hope they can keep it all open.

You a silly guy. The pie scene too funny! Thanks for all the laughs…
Yall should have given a shout out to the Route 66 show from the 60s. Those guys were in a Corvette also
I don't know that show. Good?
@@TheDaytripper greaat show from the 60s. Two twenty something guys travelling 66 in a Corvette convertible. On several seasons.
Great video!
In Virginia, it's Bob-Wahr.
One of the patented barbed wires was invented by my wife's great grandfather. It was called bb shinn wire.
Wow that's awesome 🤩
Does she get any royalties? And what does bb shinn wire mean or stand for? Thanks for sharing your history with us!
@CuriousEarthMan unfortunately no but we are just happy with the story

Forget how you say wire, you also said McLean wrong the entire time, they didnt tell you?
