  • This Movie wrecked me.
I have finals coming up and I couldn't get it OUT OF MY HEAD so here goes my attempt to get it out of my system.
Gosh where to start with this one...
This video might be the most confusing edit I've ever made but it's so not my fault. The movie is a little mind bending in the best ways possible.
I would LOVE to rewind time and relive the moment Banks says "who is this child" The only movie plot twist I did NOT see coming at allll. Completely blew my mind. I can't believe I've only seen it recently.
Jeremy is one of my FAV actors ever and he always blows me away with his acting. I didn't have particular strong feelings towards Amy Adams as an actress but she completely put my preconceived negative opinion about her to shame. She was absolutely amazing. She carried the movie on her back.
I know I promised a pride and prejudice edit but this edit just flowed so easily and would not be stopped so my dears Darcy and Elizabeth can wait.

    Explanation of the story:
So the story starts with aliens arriving on earth. They ask Louise to translate their language so that she can ask them why they're on earth and what they want. She meets Ian on the same day. Soon after, Louise starts getting flashbacks of herself and her daughter. In the flashbacks, you see that her daughter dies of a rare skin disease and she's separated from her husband. You assume that that is what happened to her in the past. However, at one point in the movie, you find out that Louise has no idea who the child is and why she keeps seeing her. The aliens tell her that because she learned their language, now she has a new perception of time. She can see the future and the flashbacks of the life she keeps seeing are actually her future. She now knows her entire life and even though she knows her daughter is going to die, she still chooses to have her. She does, however, change her relationship with her husband, who she soon realizes is Ian himself. Knowing that telling him their daughter's fate is what breaks their marriage, this time she doesn't tell him and her daughter actually grows up with a father. The contrast is shown by showing you a clip of her daughter asking why her father left her and then at the end her father reading her a bed time story. This shows the biggest difference in the future she was going to have and the one she ends up having after changing her decisions.
Personally, I don't think she should've had her daughter knowing that she was going to suffer and die an early death.

@@bluebell8557 but that’s also a part of what the movie is saying, can she change the future even if she knows about it ahead? Time is a close loop where what happened is doomed to happen, just the way she knows about her future, she can’t change the future, cuz if she did, she wouldn’t know about her future. Which is also why she said about she embrace her future, because that’s the only way she can stop the alien attack.

    • @bluebell8557

@@scuffedgary3995 hmmmm I’d agree with that if she didn’t actually change her relationship with Ian. In the original future, she tells Ian that their daughter is going to die and he leaves. In the new one, she doesn’t tell him and he stays. Time isn’t a closed loop thing here, on the contrary she has the ability to make new choices and change her future and that’s the entire point of “if you could see your whole life from start to finish, would you change things?”

I never watched the movie, but God this is beautiful. The song choice really touched my soul, and as it gets louder and louder you forget that you’re watching a movie clip. The way you cut the scenes and matched it with the music and story is beyond one can define as beautiful. I love this and I love your work, please keep editing. Give us the peace we need 🥺♥️

How this edit video doesn’t have a million views is beyond me. I think this is masterfully done. The 5:08 scene was the most moving and stuck with me so hard. Her dancing with the wine glass, Ian beginning his “head tilted up to the stars for as long as I can remember” monologue. Perfect video and job well done @bluebell8557

    Best couple I've ever seen
Far far better than some other popular couples who are too toxic just for the sake of a story
And far far better love story than any other typical romantic movies depicting only manipulation and promoting toxicity

What i don't understand is that, she cannot change the future because Louise(future louise) also know about the daughter or that Ian will leave her after she will tell him that their daughter will die, this means she doesn't have a choice, what's going to happen will happen.
Aliens told her about her future this means (future) louise knows about everything the decisions she will choose and she cannot change them, it's impossible
Note: My theory works only if future louise knows about this, i mean she of course does that's why she told him about Hannah.
Conclusion: She knows Ian will left her, she cannot change that.
Trust me my head is hurting right know thinking about this.

Yea, I've been wondering the same. And she chose to marry Ian even though she knew they would be divorced.
I don't want to be a party pooper but I know someone who committed suicide after she was divorced for the third time. Other divorcees that I know are unhappy, pessimistic people. So if this film intends to normalise divorce, I don't appreciate it.
However, if this film actually intends to send a message that we have the power to create our future (referring to General Shang's scene), then Louise had missed the message from the aliens.
