THIS is the Infiniti I know and love. Products that were dripping with details and meticulously thought out….. that new app feature seems very cool also. Ever since Infiniti’s headquarters has returned back to Japan, it’s been seeming to course correct. Love it. 2018 q60AWD here. Very informative video I stumbled on.
So beautiful Infiniti Qx80, is one of my favorite cars. Good and reliable engine, good ans strong transmission, nice design, a strong and durable car as the well known Nissan Patrol. Excellent car and excellent review.
I have a 2020 QX80 Luxe. What “drove” me to this full-size vehicle was it being the luxury version of the body-on-frame Nissan Patrol with it’s strength and reliability…along with that is it’s unique style and relative value.
Honestly I like the touchscreen surrounded by the dashboard. Not a fan of touchscreens being exposed tablets. But they did update the technology a bit.
Very nice review and really the best I have seen on the 2022 QX80. Only problem i see and now on you, but this is an old SUV, been around since 2011 in the current form minus the front and rear facia. I own the 2006 QX56 and the 2018 QX80. Been waiting for a redesign since 2018. Both are very reliable except for the catalytic converters. I would recommend if you want a SUV that still is body on frame and old technology, plus not much luxury compared to the competition in todays market. No panoramic roof, no massaging seats, no options stereo other than Bose weak sounds), no undated USBC outlets and more importantly the cargo area is more on line with the Lexus 570/600. I wish Infiniti/Nissan wasn’t broke from bad leadership and investments. When the 2006 QX came out, it was on part with every other automaker but fail short after 2012.
Thank you for the kind words and the comment. All full size SUV's are slow to be redesigned. The Toyota Sequoia had an ignition key up until recently and why the Cadillac Escalade had a column shifter is because they are all truck based with body on frame design. That body on frame design is what gives its high tow capacity, which several of my clients utilize. Early QX80's did have catalytic converter issues but your 2018 shouldn't. I have heard that there could be a 2024 complete redesign for the 2022 QX80, nothing official though. Thank you for your continued support of the brand!
@@DanMikeWardInfiniti you are welcome Dan. My 2018 QX80 with 58k on it just had the catalytic converters replaced in warranty but I am okay with reliability. Hopefully the 2024 will be a hit. Thank you for letting me know.
proven plantform and spacious suv that can tow 8500lb. not so many choise there if you want a na v8 family suv that can go offroad and also drives well on the highway. only complain is the gas milage. however it has 2.7 tons so still resonable considering the wight.
I can't watch how Infiniti slowly dying :( i think in 2022 ppl need more options ambient lighting, projection and more driver assistance features. However Qx80 is a car of my heart :)
I 100% agree because the 2011-2014 QX56 was definitely ahead of its time compared to its competitors! By 2015 when GM and Ford caught up Infiniti fell back! Another down fall is the fact that the QX80 and the Armada are exactly alike beside the exterior design, that's a sign that the brand is flopping!
@@DanMikeWardInfiniti the point I’m making is normally you want to have a distinct difference between the Luxury and Non Luxury, somebody could literally get an Armada and won’t be missing out on much from the QX80 another great example is Land Cruiser and the LX yes same body and build but clearly there’s a difference Lexus offer way more than Toyota! The fact of the matter is the QX80 is falling behind in the full size luxury brand, hell when people mention full size luxury SUVs you barely hear about the QX80. Escalade, Navigator and the Grand Wagoneer are in the lead! Don’t get me wrong I love Infiniti but the biggest reason why the QX80 is selling is because of its reliability and the fact that it’s cheaper than it’s competitors.
I totally understand what you're saying. I wish there was a little more difference between the two models. However look at warranties between the two and the difference in service experience with an INFINITI dealership compared to a Nissan store. Also the Nissan Armada does not offer the Body Motion Control system which is a game changer.
Hey Dan. Love the new video. Keep up the good work. You should bring Mac n cheese on Friday.
Good idea!! Thank you for the kind words and encouragement AJ.

Thanks AK! I'm excited for the future of INFINITI. Check out the 2022 qx60 video I made, that vehicle gives me the most hope!
Higher priced Nissan Patrol. One of my dream cars.

Please check out the 2022 QX60, it's a complete redesign. Also, what driver assistance features are missing?

The Acura MDX and the Honda Pilot are on the same platform, is Honda failing too?

It seems to be INFINITI's way!
Is this the top trim?
It is! This is the Sensory.
how much this car and level
The QX80 starts at $72,700 for a rear wheel drive LUXE trim level.
NICE CAR NISSAN SUN JAPAN
Just needs a panoramic roof and Heads up display
I agree! We are expecting a complete redesign of the QX80 shortly, I can't imagine those features not being included. Thanks for watching!
