I bought an all-black 2019 370Z sport coupe 6MT a few years ago and love the car. It often turns heads and gets nice compliments from people walking by.

Unlike many with desirable cars, Steve will not be discarding expensive tires simply because they've exceeded their date-coded shelf life. Keep the videos coming. Always enjoyable!

That 280 is GREAT, shame about the bumpers but at least its original

Really it's JUST Paint and Stickers!
At least Porsche would bump up the motor even a higher grade metal into the increase of power., To back up the paint and stickers.
Those bumpers would be on a shelf in the garage so fast......no Sports Car designer would allow , weight out side the wheel base !

I remember when the 240Z came out. That was cool stuff - a poor man's Corvette. Many years ago I read a magazine article about a 240Z that had a Chevrolet V-8 in it. That got my attention.

That was the "Scarab " converted Z cars to a V8 , sold at Dealers and warrantied.
      I'm pretty sure without Nissan's Blessing !
Back in the Old Dealership Days!

Great to see a 280 out there, and honestly the way it moved off the line looked pretty good to me. Thanks for sharing, I've never seen the 280 special edition before. Both look great in yellow 👍🏽

Steve, I am a Brit living in The Netherlands and a recent subscriber to your channel. I remain patriotic to the UK car industry, or what is left of it, and am very heartened by your apparent enthusiasm for classic British vehicles. I think the fact that so many F1 teams are based in the UK demonstrates that UK is a centre of technical excellence and innovation, as indeed it always has been. Such a pity that the industry strikes of the 70’s and 80’s led to a poor quality product and had a dramatic impact on car exports to the US - also the loss of the British brands such as Hillman, Singer, Riley, Morris, Austin, Wolseley, Triumph to name but a few. The real point of this communication is that we, or certainly I, know nothing about you. I would love to see a more ‘personal’ video about you, what you do and how you have managed to acquire such a collection of vehicles. If this has already been done, I apologize and will search for it amongst earlier videos. Keep up the good work. Kind regards, Bernard Westwell.

This is great! I never even knew about these two Editions. I've driven a 370z, and really liked the car. Two👍👍

Old Z beats new Z in my opinion.
In 1984 I had a TR7 in daytona yellow, but I would have swapped it in a heartbeat.

What a great treat again from you thank you! These are both cars I'd love to own. I had a 1984 300ZX for a few years (Non Turbo) and it was a nice pice of tech in it's day. But my heart has always been to one day own a 240 or 260 280Z from the early "Fair Lady" era. Am I correct in what I think I'm seeing that the 280Z doesn't have an LSD from factory? I thought they came with one. But I have only driven the 280ZX from 1982 as one of my friends older sisters had one from new when I was younger and she let me drive it. I wasn't impressed though as it was pretty watered down by that time and she had the automatic trans so that sucked too LOL.

    • @ThisWeekWithCars
      @ThisWeekWithCars  4 года назад +1

No LSD from factory, one reason people fit 280ZX differentials to these but it is not a bolt in swap unfortunately. It would sure make the car a lot more enjoyable.

My 300zx Slicktop TT would fit right in between your two cars. I changed its color to Smooth Yellow (boyd coddingtons sig. color) and black 10 years ago when I built the car.

Steve. Do you normally have donuts for breakfast !! These must be one of the few non - British cars in your collection. I prefer the original 240Z against the modern but then l'm old so l would! Don't think too many collectors would drive these with such gusto. Thankyou and take care and stay safe.

they were not that sold maybe because it was much slower compared to it´s older brother 300ZX, but from far not just a bit ,if you race them both , the younger starts faster but when the heavier and older 300ZX starts to run it gives no hope for the younger Z, it just leaves it behind

You know damn well the designers fought to the death, but the penny pinchers said no to a design , and yes to the cheapest solution.
It's actually we're Porsche distanced itself from the Z.
      Omissions, impact requirements.
Porsche redesigned and spent the money reinvesting in their Sports Car.
Nissan just took the money the Z made them and did not reinvest as Porsche did and this was the beginning of the end of the Z as a Sports Car.
Nissan went the very lazy way and kept trying to please more people that weren't Sports Car Drivers.
Turning the Z into a porky GT !

Not quite.....what compound tires were on the classic.
How many miles are on the classic motor.
What level of trim is on the 370 beside the paint.
Can you not take off those ugly bumpers and put them on a shelf for your collector value.
I had a Black Pearl Edition.
I hated the paint always looked dirty ,though I washed it lovingly , frequently.
The pin striping was like ,some body had no idea, when to stop , the striping followed EVERY SINGLE line, on the car , Every Single line.
One day I spent 5 hrs with a razor removing all, I sanded the paint and painted it BMW Black. I added clear headlight covers that car looked 1000 times better.
I'm currently resto modding a 78 and a 73. No fed bumpers allowed.
No pin stripes , no tri color paint!
