Hey! I have the Sculpfun S9 and I am having the problem described in 3;00 , I tightened the belts but when there are quick and sharp movements a normally symetrical print turns unsymetrical - I do not know what to do :(
I'm having a Y axis issue where when I go to frame, it just goes left and right and seems to be stuck going up and down. It's like a shake when it tries to move. I tried tightening and loosening the belts
Is it only know moving in the Y direction when framing or the machine just will not move in the Y axis? If the laser is not moving in the Y axis, the first thing I would check is the cables. Check that the stepper motor cable both on the Y motor and Y connector of the board is seated properly.
That is a focus height gauge that came with this laser. You set the proper focus height by resting the gauge on your material, then lower the laser until it touches the top.
How do I adjust travel speed? What in referring to is speed of the laser when it's not firing. It's really annoying having the entire job go really slow cause I set the laser speed low. Is there a way to speed up the process so it slows down to firing speed only on areas that need engraved/cut.
Please help I don't know what happened? I've been practicing with my 20w xtool. All below 50% power. I decided to try the infrared for a little bit on some metal had to go to 100%. Now I plugged back in my 20w and the light is just really bright and big? When I use the fire button it's fine. When I go to engrave it changes? I have reset and unplugged what now? No updates on XCS or LB. I don't think I would have cracked my glass, I don't know how? Anybody have answers? 🤔😒
My diode laser has been stopping midway and resetting itself. This has really frustrated me. How do I ensure that the grounding is working. Or how can I detect where the exact problem is?
Do you by chance know why when I turn my laser controller off it still has power to the controller board. It will only power completely off if I remove the usb cable. I suspect a ground issue somewhere but do not know where it would be. The power supply is 3 pronged so I am grounded there and all connections are properly connected.
This is fairly normal depending on the controller. Many of them can be flashed over USB so the 5v from the cable will power on the controller. Usually it will just be the board though and not fans or the laser module.
My Device Settings for the Workspace setting for X & Y do not match the console output for $130 and $131. On the console it shows $130=432 and $131=406 like you have in this video. When I try to update in the console and type $130=430, enter it returns with "ok", but upon confirming with $$ it still shows $130=432. Is this a problem that there is a mismatch and if so, how do I update it?
It should be an issue unless you are trying to squeeze those last 2mm out of your work area. The stock firmware may have been updated to not make this something you can edit. The only reason I could think of would be a 2mm tolerance buffer.
I have a quick question about how the laser engraves, mine doing a grid will randomly engraves the squares but when the project completes it is what it was supposed to be. So if lasering a grid it works in a random pattern instead of cutting in rows and columns how do I fix that?
Hello, I just set up my Longer ray 5 10W laser with an air assist. When I hit the frame on LightBurn, my laser just goes to the left off of the small piece of wood. It sounds like your origin or start from mode is not correct. We have a video covering the different start from modes and how they work here: ruclips.net/video/aphiLTUWcjE/видео.htmlsi=cSRlQtpT1Pi2zZ5h
Is it connecting to LightBurn? Is there any error message being displayed in the console? We wont be able to give feedback on their app but it looks like it is running GRBL firmware so it should work with LightBurn.
Hello When I frame a object to engrave my laser head frame the same at different postions slithly left or right or up and down. Doest frame same position when I frame the same file more than once
Do you have your travel speeds set to high? If the motors are skipping steps that could cause this. I would lower speeds, and also check both belt tension as well as the set screws on the stepper motor idlers are tight.
Houston we have a problem. New machine, just yesterday I was doing piercing on stainless steel, everything was okay. Today there is no piercing. Same material and same settings. What do I have to do? Sculpfun s10 bought on AliExpress. Cleaned the laser, it turned out to be a torn gasket, replaced it, did not help. I don't know what to do. Maybe the lens is burned out? How can it be replaced?

I have the sculpfun s9 with lightburn. The laser moves very slowly during framing and cutting, but moves at a normal pace otherwise. We've adjusted the speed in lightburn, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
The framing speed and travel speed is set in the move window. The text box labeled speed between "distance" and "z-speed" is the one to adjust. The actual speed of the engrave (line or fill) will be set in the cuts/layers window.
I did the whole set up. My laser worked a good few minutes then stopped. Now it won't turn in. I jus bought the machine. I even did a reset. I don't understand what could possibly keep the laser from turning on. Any info would help.
When you flip the switch for power is there any LED indicator? On mine the red emergency power switch had been pushed down so check that. Otherwise, it could be faulty Power Supply, or an issue with the mainboard.
Has it connected successfully and can run frame commands? And just to confirm there is no power output at all? If you are still facing issues, contact our support team - support@lightburnsoftware.com
It could be an issue if the power source exceeds the laser's current consumption ?. For example, requirement is 12V at 4A, but my power source is 12V at 10A.

In settings of lightburn these $parameters can be changed easily and saved on laser as well. Regarding your question - it takes 2 minutes to check by yourself. Would do it, but unfortunately will be back at home only after 3 months.
They should stick, but it also may depend on the way your contoller/firmware is configured. Easiest way to test would be to change the value and then power cycle your machine. Upon reconnecting enter $$ and see if it retained the $32=1 value.
LightBurn is saying its not compatible with windows? Are you running Window 32 bit or 64 bit? If 32 you'll need to download LightBurn 1.5.06 or older. If 64 bit make sure you downloaded the 64 bit version: Here is our documentation on installing: docs.lightburnsoftware.com/Installation.html If your still having issues please contact our support team - support@lightburnsoftware.com

If it is not moving up and down I would check the wiring for the y axis motor, the belts, and the motor pulley. Belts should be tight, motor pulley should be tight and not able to rotate on the motor shaft, and make sure the wire connectors are fully seated. If you are still having issues after that email our support support@lightburnsoftware.com
If it just started recently it is possible something happened with the laser itself on the hardware side. As soon as you unplug one of the motors or the laser then it powers on properly. It also losing connection to light burn if the laser power setting is too high. I really need help with this!
Thank you , enjoyed the Info
My longer ray 5 was working this morning. I shut it off and came back turned it on now my laser don't work. It moves but no laser. Can you help with that
Thank you so much for this video! Very helpful!
Glad to hear!
Hello! Great video! Can you help me? My laser cutter doesn't make circular or curve movements, when tracing, cutting or framing! Do you know how can I solve it? Salutes from México! Thanks!
It makes regular lines to trace curves. When framming, it does the same movement.

Hey! I have the Sculpfun S9 and I am having the problem described in 3;00 , I tightened the belts but when there are quick and sharp movements a normally symetrical print turns unsymetrical - I do not know what to do :(
Your a star! Fixed my issue with in the first minute 😅
Awesome! Happy to hear :)
I just got my Sculpfun S30 10w. Its giving error 5 - hominh cycle not enable in Grbl setting. How it can be fixed ? Please guide.
What is that silver thing when you adjust the laser? 4:58
I believe there is a setting to ignore white. I saw something about that on a Louisiana Hobby Guy video. Sorry, I don’t recall which one.
Creative video, keep it up, thanks for sharing :)
need help connecting my ATZER to my Mac, its not recognizing the cable or port...please help
I set the dimensions to the size of the test wood piece but it's just going to the left even when I hit start. Thank you for any help you can give. I am a beginner.
It sounds like your origin or start from mode is not correct. We have a video covering the different start from modes and how they work here: ruclips.net/video/aphiLTUWcjE/видео.htmlsi=cSRlQtpT1Pi2zZ5h
Thank you!@@lightburnsoftware7189 Just seeing this reply. Going to try this and see if it works.
Any idea on Wainlux jl7 start up, my fan runs nothing happens can’t see a laser and just get a clearing flash message on app??
Is it connecting to LightBurn? Is there any error message being displayed in the console? We wont be able to give feedback on their app but it looks like it is running GRBL firmware so it should work with LightBurn.
Hello
When I frame a object to engrave my laser head frame the same at different postions slithly left or right or up and down.
I would start by checking our grbl guide for output issues: docs.lightburnsoftware.com/Troubleshooting-Output.html#power-output-is-not-the-same-as-other-software-grbl
There are a couple of things to try in there. If you are still having issues and believe it may be hardware related, I would next contact the manufacturer.
I have one ,run normal in Lasergrbl ,but in Lightburn when engraver has error, with square it normal ,but with circle or image it chaos move .when move X axis the Y axis move little bit too.Can u help me ?
Send an email with your laser info (model and settings) and pictures of what you are seeing when engraving to our team - support@lightburnsoftware.com
Literally solved my problem in less than 10 seconds. Thank you!
Excellent 😊
tank you for the tip(s-value max) now i can cut material 4 times faster😀
I enter "$32=1". When I refresh with $$, it still says $32=0.
Do I have to somehow unlock the Console?
What machine are you using? Some manufacturers have it set in a way that resets the settings on each power cycle.

Ok, I restarted the program. It’s working now.
Foxalien Vasto, by the way.
Thanks.
my laser dot is getting big even after normal focusing.......any help please
I did the whole set up. My laser worked a good few minutes then stopped. Now it won't turn in. I jus bought the machine. I even did a reset. I don't understand what could possibly keep the laser from turning on. Any info would help.
When you flip the switch for power is there any LED indicator? On mine the red emergency power switch had been pushed down so check that. Otherwise, it could be faulty Power Supply, or an issue with the mainboard.
I have a problem my tts-55 laser pro runs but does not engrave, any help ?
Has it connected successfully and can run frame commands? And just to confirm there is no power output at all?
If you are still facing issues, contact our support team - support@lightburnsoftware.com
@@lightburnsoftware7189 i fix it thanks
It could be an issue if the power source exceeds the laser's current consumption ?. For example, requirement is 12V at 4A, but my power source is 12V at 10A.
As long as the voltage is matching, the diode will not draw more current than it needs.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 Thanks !
Hello, im using ortur master 2
Just instaled a new 80 w laser
And it wont stop burning on travel nor when it finishis the job iz Just goes to zero and still working and burning the zero point. I have followed instructions and have cheked the $$ and it was already at 1 . Is there any other problem?
Was this an issue with the previous laser module? Run through the items listed under "Short Version" here:
github.com/LightBurnSoftware/Documentation/blob/master/CommonGrblSetups.md
ive been getting this problem where the power light keeps blinking on and off and the fan cant seem to stay on, and so i cant print anything
Is there any output in the console? If you are able to connect I would see if the laser is throwing an error.
I have an issue where the laser fires when moving (very little power maybe less than 1%) how can I solve this? I suspect it is a static build up
There are a number of issues that could be causing this.
Knowing what laser you are using will be helpful along with if it was always doing this or it is something that recently started.

Hi , my aufero laser keep flashing and don't reconnect within Lightburn. Is there any button for connecting Laser? Thank you
There is a lock on the Aufero when you first connect. Try clicking the stop button in LightBurn or typing $x into the console.

My sculpfun going not good,it suddenly moving but,no cut and just small power amount of laser going out even i put it in full 100% power, why ya?
I would check our guide under power output to see if the S-Value Max is correct or that constant power is set: docs.lightburnsoftware.com/Troubleshooting-Output.html
If it is not a hardware issue it is likely one of those two.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 dont really understand what it is,but i try to understand okay,tq for info,i will check
Quick question, why is it when i type "$$" nothing is popping up even though it says my laser is connected through USB???
@@jeffreyboucher344 - That would depend entirely on what kind of “my laser” you have. You didn’t specify.
@ WeCreat 40w, just seems like the laser isn’t able to fully cut all the way through in light burn, but when I use the “wecreat make it” app, it works fine.
@ - WeCreat isn’t “real” GRBL firmware. Are you using their latest firmware? There are a number of updates in it to Improve LightBurn compatibility, but you might have to specifically request it from them.

After entering $32=1 to switch to laser mode, is this permanent or I have to perform this switch to laser mode every time I power on the machine?
In settings of lightburn these $parameters can be changed easily and saved on laser as well. Regarding your question - it takes 2 minutes to check by yourself. Would do it, but unfortunately will be back at home only after 3 months.
They should stick, but it also may depend on the way your contoller/firmware is configured. Easiest way to test would be to change the value and then power cycle your machine. Upon reconnecting enter $$ and see if it retained the $32=1 value.
I have a laser that I’m trying to connect. I’m running light burn and it says it’s not compatible with windows.
LightBurn is saying its not compatible with windows? Are you running Window 32 bit or 64 bit? If 32 you'll need to download LightBurn 1.5.06 or older. If 64 bit make sure you downloaded the 64 bit version:

My laser starts off fine then stops moving up and down, how can I fix this?
If it is not moving up and down I would check the wiring for the y axis motor, the belts, and the motor pulley. Belts should be tight, motor pulley should be tight and not able to rotate on the motor shaft, and make sure the wire connectors are fully seated. If you are still having issues after that email our support support@lightburnsoftware.com
my laser is to weak to engrave anything, just started recently what is going on?
If it just started recently it is possible something happened with the laser itself on the hardware side. There are a couple of things to try in our documents on output: docs.lightburnsoftware.com/Troubleshooting-Output.html#power-output-is-not-the-same-as-other-software-grbl
