- Hello again :)
I have been very busy over the last couple of weeks, so not the longest video I have made, but I hope that you enjoy it. Here I make Charlies chop, which is very important in a birds diet. Veggies contain so many crucial nutrients, and I do go over what I have chosen very lightly, but here are the ingredients:
Carrots
Salad/lettuce/leafy greens
Red bell pepper
Chick peas
Pumpkin
Broccoli
Now I'm on a tight budget, so this chop only cost me around 6 dollars and will last for maybe 2 weeks, but go wild with your chops, variety is awesome.
Be careful with avocados and anything related to onions, as these are toxic to the birds. - Животные

Hello! My husband is from Denmark and we just got our first Pionus. In doing research on the species I came across your videos on YT! Very nice information, thank you!
How exciting!! Best of luck with your new fella :D
hi did you get a blue headed pionus? whats it like ? :)
You're great!
Lovely video
new place looks so cozy hehe
awww elsker!
Hey, im getting a Pionus in December and was wondering what cage do you have? It really like yours
Loved your video how much of the chop does Charlie get daily? And does she also eat pellets or just the chop as her food?
Hi Barbara!
She gets chop and also TOPS pellets, maybe a 70% chop and 30% pellets, where I normally give her chop with some pellets both in the morning and evening. Mostly because I noticed her poops being very watery with only chop, but with the combo they are tip top, and then she also gets the benefit of both :)
I like to view pellets as a little protein and fiber boost, but where the bird still gets it's main vitamins and minerals from the natural source of veggies and fruit (and nuts and seeds for that matter, but I use those for training).
Hope I answered the question!
@stellaandcharlie thank you so much for answering me back and for all the information I will definitely add it to my notes so when I get a Blue headed pionus, I will be prepared. Best of luck in vet school wish you the best!
Where did you get Charlie's cage from?
It's from a German parrot shop, I really like it!
