Hügelbeet bauen - Hugelculture (Sepp Holzer Style)

- Ausgehend vom Projekt „Essbare Gemeinde Übelbach" (Steiermark/Ö) entschloss sich Familie Kirchweger dazu in ihrem Garten ein Hügelbeet im Sepp Holzer Stil bauen zu lassen.
Herzlichen Dank an alle Beteiligten! Es war toll mit Euch zu arbeiten!

Nice, but I want to see the time lapse of several months after creating / planting.
Hättet Ihr gleich noch einen Biomeiler draus machen können und eine Rohrspirale zur Wärmeabfuhr reinbauen können ! Dann hättet Ihr glcih kostenloses waremes Wasser ! ;)
das systhem biomeiler ist super - hab ich schon mal in funktion gesehen _ beim sprungbrett Aspern unitedcreations.org/projekte-und-aktivitaeten/sprungbretter/aspern-playing-oekodorf.html - und als er dann ausgekühlt war wuchsen super fein die kürbisse :)

Was genau heißt kein frischer Baumschnitt? Wie lange sollte man den liegen lassen, bevor man ihn für ein Hügelbeet verwendet?
Fresh prunings of certain species will result in those species enveloping the whole bed. If prunings are left in the sun during summer, approximately 6 weeks. Scratch the outer layer of wood deeply and see if there's green. If wood is still green, wait longer. If cut in fall, usually can be safe in spring. This is all in regards to species of tree and shrub that self root from cuttings easily or often.

I hope my German is not too terrible to understand - I'm using a translation program, in both German and English.
This looks interesting. I'm trying to do something like this with some wood in a field by my place - which I hope to turn into a garden. Of course, mine is going to be very different, as I'm doing it all by hand, and I don't have any prior experience. Do you have any hints or tips?

Das sieht interessant aus. Ich versuche so etwas mit etwas Holz in einem Feld von meinem Platz zu machen - was ich hoffe, in einen Garten zu verwandeln. Natürlich wird mir mein ganz anders sein, da ich es alle von Hand mache, und ich habe keine vorherige Erfahrung. Haben Sie Hinweise oder Tipps?

che bel progetto! Unico dubbio...la paglia permetterà alle nuove piantine di germinare dato che di solito viene usata come pacciamatura per contenere le infestanti?

ein bagger wäre jetzt nicht wirklich nötig gewesen, aber sonst gutes projekt
+peter meter lieber peter freut mich wenn es gefällt - du hast natürlich recht es geht auch ohne bagger. es waren eigentlich ca 10 helfer eingeplant die sich zuerst gemeldet, und dann doch abgesagt haben - alles eine frage von resourcen in unserer hektischen zeit - ich hätte sonst auch nicht den ganzen prozess filmen können wenns länger als einen tag gedauert hätte. alles liebe

Because they fail. In this video there were so many mistakes already!
EdibleAcres has videos of his Hugelculture mounds! According to him, they are more productive after the first year, as the wood needs time to break down. He uses a cover crop the first year, and plants them with vegetables the second.
‘Plant Abundance’ has 3 Hügelkultur beds of varying age. He has a video reporting the results. His grow lots of food. I just watched it last night.
