This woman is triumph not just her voice but also her story she should go on and do a Jazz album back in the 80s that's what she wanted to do but her label wouldn't let her but of course nowadays there is room to do pretty much any genre of music I hope she does

We had a lot of sound/technical issues, when we got on stage but we powered through it... Miki doesn't sound the same as she did 30 years ago but she is STILL a great vocalist, performer and entertainer. She is and will FOREVER be ICONIC/LEGENDARY...

To be fair her voice was permanently altered as a result of an assault. It must frustrate her to not have the same consistent control over her instrument but she is a survivor and continues to share her music and story with her adoring and loyal fans. Love you forever, Miki.
Miki is no longer in her prime, and unfortunately, this performance represents her sound these days. She has no breathe control, no power, no attention to melody, and very pitchy. Her vocals are all over the place, at at times it sounds like she's gurgling or mumbling. There's still enough voice to reinvent herself as a singer, but she has to take better care of her instrument and develop more control over her notes. I still love her though. Many singers lose their original sound for various reasons; age, smoking, improper singing, etc.
Yes, she can do a lot better with her God-given instrument but she's still a walking miracle, who went from not even allowing cigarette smoke on her tour bus,to cocaine introduction to full blown crack head. The fact we still have her on earth is a miracle Not in the voice we would like but she looks good and healthy. We have to continue to give them their flowers while we still have her here on earth.

@@phillycheez6288 The main reason for that is because her nose was broken in two places during the course of her abusive relationships. Smoking may be a contributor. But assuming she's been smoke free for a good period of time, you can rehab much of that damage as Aretha did.

I love Miki Howard but this was a NO for me! I was tired listening to this!The only part that sounded good was when she did a snippet of "That's What Love Is" and "Good Morning Heartache" was ok! I was hoping to enjoy all the hits we know and love from her but was verrrrrrrry disappointed ☹️!
The woman's had a HARD, HARD LIFE. Thee entertainment industry, especially music is wicked & dark, that's why it's lit up by all the flashing lights & neon, but Miki unknowingly came into it broken as a young girl bcuz of the failures of her parents. She had to leave home & get started in thee industry young & she was unprotected, she didn't have sum1 who really loved & cared about her well being there to help, even if only as a watchful eye, sum1 to tip her off to where the snakes were hiding & disguising themselves as sum1 who really cared, like her bum ass ex-husband. With all that said, SHE'S STILL HERE, CLEAN, SOBER & HEALTHY BY THE GRACE OF GOD, so let's just applaud her & not kick her back in, she's a triumph story at this point & I for 1 am so proud of her.
