Hi from The UK here! Ireally enjoyed your reaction this morning. Well done. My own personal preference would be that you react to the studio version first, as the live version invariably improves the original. Take care mein freunden. Kevin
This. Plus, as most would agree, short of MAYBE XXI Century Blood (which OMV is amazing) the live version is usually better than the studio. I'm afraid if you start with the live version, you'll be in for a bit of a letdown with the studio version coming immediately following. Start with studio, then blow you mind with the live version.
The opening bass riff is played with octave chords plucked with thumb and index finger, which gives it its power. Historically, Whole Lotta Love and Highway Star are played this way, but with picks.
The decision to listen to the live version first is the best, without a doubt. Great reaction from you and I'm excited to know that you will keep reacting to more of this power trio's material and they will soon be your favorite band too, inevitably!! That's for sure... It's The Warning!! Because as you get to know TW better you discover that their music is steeped in various rock styles but invariably it’s pure rock. And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very personal opinion that their structure, their cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, their endings... All of it is masterful. The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection, with sophistication predominating. There could always be other options, but the ones they choose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art. Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvements and with the feeling, sensitivity and passion of their blood, race and culture. Each of their pieces can be very different, but always with all the flavor of TW. It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits. They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time. This is the youngest veteran band in the world of rock!! Without forgetting that they are only three, yes, but three authentic geniuses in their specialization. Melodically they are the best, without a doubt, because they are the queens of the hook, the riff, the changes of tonality, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages. And this happens song after song… INCREDIBLE!! The new masters of rock: The Warning ⚡ Thank you and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️ .
@@gray6071 Oh, thank you so much for your kind words. That's an excellent idea and if I had free time I would think about doing something about it. Regards, my friend! 🤟😁✌️
Great reaction. I love that you are reacting to both the studio and live version. I do think reacting to the studio version first would give you a better experience to get to know the song a bit before seeing how it is performed. The song "Z" is about Gen Z's struggles-feeling lonely despite social media, mental health issues, and dealing with all the fake stuff online. It calls out how they’re pressured to fit in, but a lot of what they’re told isn’t even true. There’s a warning about blindly following trends or canceling people, and the chorus reminds them that it'll all catch up eventually. The ending’s basically saying they need to wake up and do something before it’s too late.
Thanks for the shout out! LOL. No need though. Just trying to make your life easier, while also letting The Warning Army have an idea of what to expect next, without feeling the need to send you tons of recommendations.! Keep going! Loving your reactions!
Having a great time with your reactions. I think most will agree that The Warning live is so much better than the studio- not that the studio is bad, but The Warning are just so engaging with their fans. When it comes to should you play the studio first and then the live version... Pau says it perfectly: I THINK THAT WE SHOULD!
Disciple is hard to beat, it's in my top 3 The Warning songs. But "Z" is a great opening song, it really gets the crowd going, they opened with Z in 2023 when I saw them in London, UK. But when I saw them in 2024 they opened with their song "Sick" and then played "Z" as their second song.
The Warning are very good at layering their music. They weave their voices and instruments in and out for emphasis and deemphasis. Ale and Pau can sizzle underneath Dany's vocal, or Ale and Pau can drop out while Dany sings and plays guitar, or... In reality, they have six instruments, three of them being their voices. They also occasionally run a track from their computer to add things they did in the studio as overdubs, or with guest artists. These ladies were raised on classical piano training before they took up guitar, drums, and bass. They took lots of lessons on their instruments from local teachers in Monterrey. They had recorded their first EP, just before they had six weeks of training at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, in 2015. They launched kickstarter style campaigns to finance their first and second albums. So really, their skills have been developing since they were very young girls, and music has been at the core of their lives. They are the real deal, as their producers will tell you. Lots of bands go into a studio and record with studio musicians, but The Warning write, compose, and play most of their own work. They did collaborate with outside writers on *Keep Me Fed,* and had some of those people play instrumental tracks for them, but they are in control. Many young artists get bound by contracts to perform what's handed to them and The Warning have carefully avoided that. They didn't sign with a label until they had their independent creative control. I'd suggest that if you want to react to both studio and live versions of songs, react to the studio version first (whether lyric video or official music video - use the OMV where available), and then react to a recommended live version from their channel. After doing a few like that, you will probably understand why most of us recommend the live versions. Fan cam (smartphone) videos are rarely very good. They can be interesting, but if I'm hearing a song for the first time, I want to hear a version that is professionally recorded and mixed, so I can really hear it. Most of the audio on The Warning's channel meets that pro standard, and then some!
I love your enthusiasm when you react to TW. You mimic exactly how we all feel. Mind blown! Next up: Evolve from the MTV VMA 2023! Got to watch it! It's a must!
Their songwriting, musicianship, professionalism, talents, passion, charisma, and their extraordinary sibling dynamic, all blend their magic to make these young women a phenomenon that's going to rock the planet. Their interpolation of 'Enter Sandman' may be the best 'cover' of an epic rock song, ever!! Their entire discography, to date, is immaculately conceived! Heed 'The Warning'!! "The Best Hard Rock Power Trio of the 21st Century."🦉🤟⚡🍩👍⚠⚡💥
Another great reaction! So glad you enjoyed discovered the best rock band on the scene. I don’t think you’ll have any problem with every new song being your favorite. The Warning is just that good, always adding elements as each song g progresses to keep them fresh. As to studio and live, I would suggest studio first. That way, you’ll love the studio and then be amazed that live sounds even better!! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
When you start with the live performance, you rob yourself of that sweet moment of anticipation: "That was great! I wonder how they're gonna top this..." And then they do just that, live. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
I’ve started noticing something in some of their songs. It can be hard enough to get a full sound as a trio, but there are times, like in this song, that Dany isn’t playing her guitar, which leaves Ale and Pau playing as a power duo, managing to have a full sound backing up Dany’s singing.
Once again great and entertaining reaction! Yes, right choice with Live first and after concentrate more on the song with the studio version. Also: must see for "TW beginners" is the epic Live performance of “EVOLVE” at 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, you will love it!
I'm not sure there's a Warning song where the Ale isn't killing it on the bass. Haven't heard this live, but can confirm that Disciple live is freaking amazing, hits so hard.
Yes, DPA are really good at those little changes throughout the songs! Pau only plays the toms in the first verse and she adds the snare in the second, not to mention her wonderfully timed fills. This song also has one of Dany's infrequent solos. Keep on rocking and you've been warned!
DPA only do what is needed for a song. Dany has said the hardest part about writing is knowing when to stop. you can add all kinds of stuff in there but does it serve the song or distract from it. some of us TWA also support a new/young band from B.C. Canada called Freeze The Fall. FTF did a TW cover that got me to their channel and discovering their originals. a Cold Front formed and i slid down the rabbit hole. FTF are Quinn 17yo guitar/vocals, Aria 16yo bass/vocals and 16yo Jonah on drums and they would love it if you checked out Daughters Of Witches . be good to one another and ROCK ON !!
Live only is good., live plus studio after is also good. Since most people don’t do it the 2nd way, it might be good for you to adopt it to differentiate your channel from others. Due to this, I say do it this way.
always think you save the best for last, just a personal preference. As well, knowing the lyrics 1st helps when hearing the live as the audience will sing some parts and if you don't know them already, you lose three groove 😉
This song Z is fun with that great beat and Dany's guitar solo. I also like the section where Pau and Ale are singing together. For your future videos I think the studio version first may make sense so that you can focus on lyrics then you'll be prepared for the live version's performance and any differences between the two.
Good reaction. Amazing ladies. Love this band so much. ❤ Did see them live twice this year. Great live band. Try Studio first and then live. Maybe try another band called “LoveBites”. An all female Metal band. Try “The Hammer of Wrath” from “Knockin’ At Heaven’s Gate” on their own channel. Thanks for this reaction. Subscribed.
The original title of the song was "Gen Z" because they are all Gen Z but Pau, who wrote the song. decided she didn't like the Gen so changed it to just "Z". Basically, a song about Gen Z - Koolaid Kids. Dany's solo is superb.
Studio vs Live version order of play: Whatever works best for you and our followers, of course, but I think the other way around would be better. Live seems to always be better with The Warning, and doing live last should leave you with all the good feels.
The ladies themselves noted this (and I'm paraphrasing); most bands strive to re-create their studio sound when playing live. _The Warning_ does precisely the opposite... and until very recently, often fails. They are a "live band" first and foremost - what happens in the studio is almost an afterthought. Yes; it's easy to dismiss fans saying "live is better", because that often is not the case. However, as far as this group is concerned... it's absolutely the truth of the matter. Don't get me wrong - while it is true that "they don't write any bad songs" - they are _all_ at least listenable... there are a few I tend to flip past when hearing them for the 2000th time. For example, I'm not a huge fan of _Amore_ , and sometimes will even skip past _When I'm Alone_ (I know, blasphemy, right?!?). However, there's a big difference between skipping a track occasionally, and absolutely *loathing* a particular tune. Most every group I've generally enjoyed has a tune or two I can't even stand to listen to at all... not the case with these ladies. They compose carefully and thoughtfully, and will simply not bother publishing anything they don't think is up to their standards.
The usual complaint! Look at the size of the reviewer and the tiny screen for the artists. NOT watching this or subscribing! Get it the right way around FFS!
