I wish they would have included ‘group status ‘ as a variable. Lower ranking monkeys have less food, friends and comfort from peers. They also have more stress hormone in their bodies. ( that might be the cause of the twitching in the infant). Fascinating! I’d love to read and watch more of these!!

Informative and this is the type of experiment's and handling that is completely humane and wonderful for these monkeys. Drastically different from harlow experiments. Tho not not completely different the handling and treatment is by far better then any I've seen. Plus under stress monkeys will react duh. When u handle them accordingly most are very much more comfortable that being thrown around and tubs jammed down their throats and noses

These macaques are so different from the ones on the monkey channels from Cambodia. For one the adoptive mother is accepting of a foster baby more often than the Cambodian ones and I think food and human interferences are to blame, theres less food in the wild and even though these ones are in an experiment with doctors/scientists theres less negative things going on create and by the people and especially the VO'S,THE VIDEO OPERATORS,they purposefully set them up to fight,to get more views, they are terrible most of them. They do more than that, poisoning the mothers to steal the babies, hurt them to make more drama all for the $,sick people

there's z huge difference. those videos are full of abuse and once you know a little bit of history about those videos of little dressed up baby monkeys sucking a bottle or their thumb, it's easy to pick up. starved and tormented, neglected and abused, tortured and beaten into submission, and recently I've seen one demon molesting a little male monkey that was so drugged up it flopped like a wet rag at times. those do nothing but make those demons rich. as soon as the little animal gets out of the cutsie stage, there's either a million tears video or there's another little "abandoned or orphaned" baby. it's just a matter of time before the monkey is just gone. wash, rinse, repeat. making those monsters rich off the backs of the monkeys they exploit on social media networks for money. sorry, didn't mean to get on my soapbox, but it's sickening and needs to stop being allowed on the internet.

The adult monkey that is first let into the containment area with the infant monkey isn’t the same one that is shown to be the “foster mom” later in this video. I’m surprised nobody else has left the same comment. This doc looks like it was made in the 80s or early 90s - SUCH a huge improvement in this type of research compared to the Harlow ‘experiments’. Which I can only hope Mr. Harlow is still languishing in hell for conducting. Or if hell , as depicted in the Christian sense , doesn’t exist , then I’d hope he reincarnated as a lab monkey. Actually , no , as that would require my hoping that animals still be used in this way. And I’d give my life for the use of animals in laboratories to end.

Foster mother had to just had a baby herself to be able to breastfeed the Foster child ,that's why she's excepting the baby. She doesn't have milk with being pregnant. These are rehus macaque monkeys . Macaque pigtail baby's are worse, always whinning and hyper.

This may prove, as well, that these creatures, may NOT have souls, if they're, simply stuck, in a behavior pattern, their entire life. Merely, animated or mostly, programmed beings, running on instinct or drive, without, much free will, due to being stuck, in this behavior pattern.🤔🤷
