No current member of FFDP has ever been in the military. Now I will say Jason Hook their lead guitarist left the band in February after 12 years. Andy James from the UK took his place. Rock on Knuckle Heads(what FFDP fans are called)
The only member that is actually military affiliated is Zoltan. Zoltan is a CQC instructor for the military, he is also an active participant in MMA. You can search for some of his videos…
This is a vets band. We used to play this song when we went out on patrols in Fallujah. It's gets you pumped up and alive and alert to what's could be coming. Thanks FDP. YOU RULE.
Thanks for your service brother but I'll correct you, The band is not a band of vets, it's a band for vets, if you did some research the military gave their band a boost somehow, And the band raises money for PTSD awareness and links sites for help with PTSD They are not vets themselves but they are highly supportive of vets
None of 5FDP are veterans. BUT...Zoltan Bathory, founder & rhythm guitarist...that showed up in the Viper at the beginning...is one of very few civilians certified by the US Army as an L1 Modern Army Combatives Instructor in Close Quarter Combat. In other words, he trains special ops in hand to hand combat. Great reaction video. Liked it! If you want to get DEEP with these guys...watch their videos for "Wrong Side of Heaven" and "Gone Away"...Official videos for both. Have tissues handy, that's all I will say. Liked/Subbed
As a combat vet. FFDP has gotten me through some real dark times in my life. They aren't all veterans but they do have a few vets in their band. Thank you for highlighting them on your channel.
Gitana, thank you for introducing me to FFDP. I've heard the bands name but never listened to any of their music until this reaction. I'm definitely going to check them out.
I can remember back when I thought the same. Saw the name but thought, meh whatever. Then one day I decided, after years, to give them a listen. Hooked. Fan now and love their live shows. I had tickets to another show last year that got postponed and then cancelled because of COVID.
I went to one of their shows a few years ago and they are huge supporters of the military. They took a break to give a shout out to all the veterans at the show. Also there was a 10 year old boy who wanted to play the drums and they let him and a bunch of other kids up on stage while he played the drums. It was an amazing show will be a lifetime fan of this band.
FFDP are epic supports on military, policemen, firefighters, & basically all 1st responders. They truly appreciate & are grateful for their sacrifice so we can live in freedom
My late best friend reintroduced me to 5fdp... Last concert I went to of theirs was 5 years ago. With him, his wife and 2 people who i considered friends before his death. Idk if i will ever see them in concert again so it doesnt over shadow my last show with my best friend.
I seen them in Little Rock Arkansas and they put on a hell of a show! They brought kids on stage to sing with them and they brought a vet on stage and signed the american flag and presented to him. They r definitely badass and very appreciated of military and law enforcement and first responders. God bless them!
You always talk about how diverse your musical tastes is and I can tell. I'm the same way. I was lucky enough to be pulled up on stage at a 5 Finger Death Punch concert. Guitarist and band creator Zoltan Bathory was in the Hungarian army for awhile and then came to America. I THINK I read somewhere that lead singer Ivan Moody’s Dad was in the military. Probably the neatest thing they do is only hire vets to be their roadies. Please check out I Apologize, The Pride, Jeckyll and Hyde.
They're amazing with their fans and the veteran support is 💯. You said it right, that's exactly why I'm here, I'm a HUGE fan and FFDP just earned you a sub today 👊🏻🤘🏻
That's an interesting 'sound check' Gitana. They do care for and connect with the fans. there's video from about 5?6? years back. where Ivan the lead singer, stopped a show; because he saw someone in the mosh pit, picked a guy up, put him over his shoulder and slammed him to the ground like he was a sack of dirt he was carrying or something. Ivan was PISSED.
You're right about their support for the military. Don't know how true it is but I've heard Ivan saw a Veteran in the audience, called him on stage, then had the Vets ticket cost refunded. You should check out their video for When The Seasons Change, it's a Law Enforcement video!
I love this band so much! Ivan's voice... I love it! Their song inside out came out at the perfect time for me. I won't go in detail but it spoke volumes to me. I could listen to his voice 24/7
"Same thing on a different platter." Well yes, and each different genre brings out different emotions and aspects of it. That's another reason to listen to a variety of genres.
Great reaction! They are big military supporters and a lot of their songs have deeper meanings. Try "Wrong Side of Heaven", "Remember Everything", and "Gone Away". All three have some deep meanings and will get ya in your feels.

I am a big fan of FFDP, but I'm also a fan of yours. love the reaction video, glad you got back around to FFDP. Another song by five finger death Punch that you would probably like is actually a cover song it's called "Blue on Black". Oh yeah love the sound check from Donovan. Gitana: should we do a sound check... Donavon: (burps) Me:lol
I've had people tell me I look like Ivan Moody even though I'm 19. I have listened to them my whole life and every album gets better and better. My best friend and I were going to see them live back in October 2020 for his birthday, but they cancelled a week before the show cause of Covid :( Whenever I introduce someone to the band, I always go with ''I Apologize''. The lyrics are like no other, and they are relatable to almost everyone in a way. I'll be going to Paris to see them June 2022, and I can't wait. Rock on Knuckleheads!!
I've been a Metalhead since 1986. Started listening to Metal in Junior High at the height of the Hair Metal era. But quickly graduated to Thrash Metal a year later once I got into High School. From roughly 1986 to 1991 were the greatest years of 80s Metal. Yeah, sure it started a couple years earlier, but there were so few bands and albums out between say 1980 and 86. By 86 they had enough albums out that you could make a collection. But now, 40 years later, there is just a TON of bands and albums that it's almost an overload of stuff. It's ashame too because it's hard to get intimately familiar with each new album that comes out. It's almost like, listen to them once and move on. Back in the day though, with probably less than 200 rock or metal albums out in the world, it was easy to really get emotionally hooked to certain albums and in turn give a lot of repeat listens to them. That's why the 80s material for so many bands still is played to this day and for the most part still sounds fresh. That's why I love metal. You can listen to a song from the 80s and an untrained metal listener might think it might be a new song even. No other genre of music is like this, imo. You go back to the styles of 20th Century music before Rock n Roll and they only lasted 5 to 10 years, if that. Hell look at the Beatles...as influential as they supposedly were, how long were they together? Only 8 years (1962 to 1970). Because once 70s Rock hit, the Beatles were outdated. I wrote this anecdote because I wanted to address your point about metal not being everyone's cup of tea. Well, I could argue, early on, in the 80s, it might have been, because of the lack of sub genres and bands that could cater to just about any one's tastes, but today, after 40+ years of this great genre, there are countless styles and bands that appeal to just about everyone now. If someone can't get into some sort of metal nowadays, they are just close minded and short-sighted...or maybe just too old. 🤣 A lot of girls my age, late 40s, grew up in the Hair Metal days, so they most likely were in love with Bon Jovi, Europe, Whitesnake, Tesla, Def Leppard, and even Mötley Crüe. But I would also say that the musical and vocal talent of most metal bands far outweigh their pop music counterparts. There's a video on YT comparing Metal vocalists to Pop vocalists, and there's no comparison. You put Floor Jansen up against someone like Christina Aguilera or Gwen Stefani and Floor will literally wipe the floor with them.
Hello Half Pint & GITANO'S! Hope everyone is having AWESOME Friday! Not for me, glad you enjoyed it Half Pint! I couldn't make out what was being said! Much love & positivity always Half Pint & GITANO'S!!!💙💞💙

Hello fantastic reaction to my favorite band ffdp now they were the last live concert I saw before all this happened in the world and it was so fun when they first came out the mic didn't work so the mic guy came out fixed it then the lead singer ivan had the audience know this the mic guy Q and jokingly told them everyone say f you Q and the whole crowd did getting us all happy then in one song he saw little kids like 10 and younger in the crowd and changed one word in his song from mother fn to mother fluffing and then had all the young kids come on stage with him and sing the next song with them and it was a fantastic concert if you ever get the chance gitana you have to see them they fun. I got to hear my personal favorite song of theirs jekyll and hyde and little bit off they definitely fun band to listen to
I am not sure they are Vets, but they do so much for Vets. They have 3 or 4 songs they give all the Proceeds to Vet Causes including Police and other First responders
The real thing about FFDP is the lyrics Each song has a true life meaning Plus is slaps ur ass in the face U need to go see them live First time I saw them, my mind is still blown Yes all Vets & first responders They have even done Make a Wish too
Well my Princess G is back!!! Told you that you would like it. Next FFDP song should be Death Before Dishonor or The Bleeding Also Need some more In This Moment maybe Big Bad Wolf? Gun Show?
I don't think any are veterans but they are very involved with them. Zoltan bathory immigrated to the US when he was in his teens, Jeremy Spencer the drummer recently left the band along with James hook the lead guitar player and replaced with Andy James so the only original band members are Ivan moody and Zoltan bathory
I got a tat on my arm in 2017 and went to a concert of 2018. They do care about their fans and vets, but as far as I know they are not Veterans themselves. The people in Avenged Sevenfold are though.
Over the years all genres of music have had their haters. Metal has always had strong messages in their music. from Black Sabbath's After Forever to the 5FDP song here. If someone says metal is not music show them a Nightwish live video and that will clear that. Other genres have had messages as well but I am sticking to metal for this one.
I'm an old man, but I would see these guys because they make me feel alive, and the lyrical content is profound and relevant. Swearing is waaaaaayyy down on the list of sins, in my never to be humble opinion!!
Delightful as always, your right good metal (good music for that matter) always has something to say, and not everyone can or chooses to hear. FFDP "Wrong Side of Heaven" will hit you right in the feels. If you'd like something else give a listen to Blackberry Smoke "Everybody Knows She's Mine". Keep up the good work lovely lady.
Never heard them before-absolutely loved it. I'm of"a certain age"(the 70s is my era-the best). I was there . I'm just getting into some rap and I love all kinds of good music. Reggae is in my top 3 and some of those Filipino artists are amazing. Recently came across a combination of the two. His name is Bugoy Drilon and the 1st song is One Day(great); the2nd is Buwan (even better)IMAO. Would really love it if you could check him out. He also does "What's Up" which is even better, best!
FFDP are huge supporters to the military, and all first responders. They are truly amazing. You just can't go wrong listening to FFDP.
to add a little bit to this comment, not sure which ones but one off the guys I heard was a hand to hand combat instructor for the usmc...

A lot of progress has happened since Wrong Side of Heaven came out. They may have to do an update.
Thouroghly enjoyed the reaction!
You are right. The messages are all the same except rock is 26 chords and the truth! LOL
The guitarist Zoltan was in the Hungarian army as a sniper. Watch Quarrentine theater by 5FDP.
I am not sure they are Vets, but they do so much for Vets. They have 3 or 4 songs they give all the Proceeds to Vet Causes including Police and other First responders
The real thing about FFDP is the lyrics
Each song has a true life meaning
Plus is slaps ur ass in the face
U need to go see them live
First time I saw them, my mind is still blown
Yes all Vets & first responders
They have even done Make a Wish too
I first seen them perform while I was deployed I seen them in Kuwait
Five Flavored Fruit Punch!
A little Bicarb for Donovan.
lol that too funny
Well my Princess G is back!!! Told you that you would like it. Next FFDP song should be Death Before Dishonor or The Bleeding
Also Need some more In This Moment maybe Big Bad Wolf? Gun Show?
I love living the dream and the pride
Military Vet here. Here for 5 finger. No they are not vets. But they do alot for us
I don't think any are veterans but they are very involved with them. Zoltan bathory immigrated to the US when he was in his teens, Jeremy Spencer the drummer recently left the band along with James hook the lead guitar player and replaced with Andy James so the only original band members are Ivan moody and Zoltan bathory
Can you react to “Five finger death punch - Battle Born”
I got a tat on my arm in 2017 and went to a concert of 2018. They do care about their fans and vets, but as far as I know they are not Veterans themselves. The people in Avenged Sevenfold are though.
Over the years all genres of music have had their haters. Metal has always had strong messages in their music. from Black Sabbath's After Forever to the 5FDP song here. If someone says metal is not music show them a Nightwish live video and that will clear that. Other genres have had messages as well but I am sticking to metal for this one.
Great reaction vid!
Excellent reaction, would like to see you react to Under and Over It from this band. 😊
Saw you were reacting to this song and watched it
Never heard them before-absolutely loved it.
Seen my boys 5 times and they were all fuckin amazing
Love FFDP!!!
Same food, different chef!
Best band out of Las Vegas ever!
Hail to the troops all around the world and semper fi
