27:10 You know VR is awesome when Steve says, "I've just spotted the runway lights, right over there." And then proceeds to actually point at them as if they really _were_ there!
I’ve been looking forward to this release. In the 3000hrs I logged on type I got to see some very interesting places and have been wanting to recreate some of those trips. I have to say it looks and sounds good.
@@VRFlightSimGuy Just taken a first look and I’m very impressed. I used the TDi since that’s what we generally flew (We did have some early Austro engined aircraft, but no VI’s). Firstly, performance appears to be spot on, certainly using the parameters we flew. The attention to detail is very good. An example is the auxiliary fuel pumps only operate when the main tanks drop below 21gal. Love the fact that there’s staining from TKS fluid running back over the wings. I’m not necessarily in a position to critique the G1000. It works as I would expect, but it doesn’t entirely reflect the TDi as I knew it. That said it’s been 7 years since I last flew it and the G1000 will have moved on. Whether these upgrades have made it to older models, I couldn’t say. Overall, it looks really good and I’m certainly looking forward to making use of it!
I have to try that. I want to take this opportunity to thank you with all my heart. You made me jump into VR with the PIMAX CRYSTAL (previous vr experience were with the occulus rift sdk2 and the 1st occulus commercial product so I was shocked). I have a serious computer (4090 ti, i9 14900k..... ) so experience is butter smooth. Just love flying around in my next level racing.... I have a buttkicker gamer pro. Installed simhaptics yesterday instead of the buttkicker haptic software. Experience is even better ... like an all new level (though the thing is getting hot so I must do some tuning...3 new buttkicker gamer pro just arrived... might be over the top or not, wr will see).... thank you for sharing all thus knowledge. I can't believe how the pimax makes you feel like you are in the plane. So clear. Absolutely no regret. This was the only and only choice (and so easy to switch vr on and off with pimax xr and open xr ...)... again thank you for all that knowledge.
Your comment has made my day thankyou so much, we are so lucky to experience our hobby with such realism these days, to think it's only going to get better this year too! Best wishes.
I m glad I bought you some happiness .... 😊 yes... better soon... it's going so fast... the vr.. the haptics... motion ... fs2020..going to 24.... streamdeck.... man the hobby has evolved incredible well and fast....
I love the plane a lot. Just nose wheel issue that they also are stumped about and no solution found yet, must be an in sim plane conflict that I'll need to find. Learjet still works with nose wheel but other jets and planes show same issue what makes it even more bizar. Failures are in the DA42 already just keep let ECU test button pressed for +5sec to active it and state saving also with holding right ECU test button +5sec... Yaw damper makes the plane wiggle left and right non stop but will be fixed in next update. Love Boris Audio works engines sounds set what makes this bird extra special in most positive way. Nice video and try to behave on the road with your bike so you can get your license back mate ;-)
I love your chanel and your vr passion and i've planned for so many years to feel the same that you feel but there are some stones in my way and an y time i am close to do what you do i am get "surprised". But i cant stop to dream about it.
Hi. Maybe you can answer (or as an idea for a video). Im also a G2 user and its sad, that it is sentenced to death by Microsoft. At the moment there are only 2 Headsets on the market, which could be good ones for msfs. The quest 3 (consumer, very popular) and the Pimax. The bigscreen beyond has too many disadvantages (for me) to be a replacement candidate. I think you have the Quest3 and also the Pimax (this one for sure). Can you compare them in e.g. how to connect to msfs, fps inside vr, sound quality, comfort etc. Not only technical details (then the Pimax will win :-) ) and price ( point for Quest 3). I think this would be very helpful for all the G2 users who are checking what wil be next after the 24H2 update of Win11. (for me its very important). Thank you
Since I discovered you, I love your videos which are fascinating and teach me a lot about many areas and in particular of course about VR, and on this subject I would like to know if VR headsets and glasses are possible or necessary. Does he wear prescription lenses...?
Thankyou I'm so glad my videos have been helping and I appreciate the kind words. I personally don't wear glasses, but I still use lens inserts for the blue light filter and it also helps protect the lenses. Best wishes.
Great channel great video great DA42 but it’s not working with my Brunner yoke due to issue with VLARS which I do not understand. Waiting for feedback from Brunner …☹️
You don’t have an issue with the seating position? In vr the da42 pilot position is way too far forward and I have to lean forward and to the left, and recenter, to get it right. I wonder what I’m doing different. Fun bird though.
I have the same issue. Try opening camerasettings from the hotbar (press TAB key) and select “Pilot” all the way at the bottom. That made it a lot better for me, except it being a little too fat backeards this time.
Perhaps because I always tend to adjust my position when I jump in the cockpit so that motion comp is calibrated, but I didn't personally notice an issue with my preview build.
It’s a bonny looking plane, but a bit to contemporary for my taste. I’m not a fan of just following a purple line, I’m a bit old school when it comes to avionics, buuuut I do love a ga twin
I also have a Crystal and do some streaming. Yet I haven't figured out, how to actually stream a single image (or combined image of both eyes). Are you using SteamVR? Or what is the trick to do it? Thank you in advance! Greetings, Otmar
Great review once again Steve, it looks like I'm going to have to buy the plane and airfield. Just out out curious how to you move the view into the rear of the plane whilst in VR? I've never got the hang of going into the back seat.
Cheer Michael :) I use the 'VR translation;' key binding for my hat switch, as you can see, I use them a lot as it makes me feel very free in the cockpit :)
Hey Steve, thanks for another great vid! Question: what settings are you running in this video? Both open xr toolkit as well as in game settings for vr? I know, its a lot to ask for, but it would be greatly appreciated 🙏🙏 print screen more than enough! Thanks 🤙👋
Many thanks! That's an easy question this time, as I'm running everything on ultra for this flight apart from LOD. I say this in the video towards the end. As for Open XR, I'm using a resolution of 3500x4142 (I think) with eye tracked foveated rendering (using TAA mode). Cheers.
Always enjoy your content. Question-what stick do you use/recommend for aircraft such as this? I fly a Bristell LSA in real life and also the Vision Jet in the sim often. Looking for a good stick for left hand flying.
Do you ever use a VR controller to get that maximum immersion feeling? I started and now i cant go without. I fly with either stick/yoke paired with the same honeycomb throttle.
Only thing that is bad us the tightening bolt in the back of your head.... can't rest head on headrest. Have you found a way to solve this (bought the thing from new Zealand for weight repartition you recommended before I saw pimax now make their own)... and I look forward more horizontal FOV (BE it with the crystal and the new lenses that are nowhere to be found or the 12k that I fear will require next generation computers )
Ditching is a little extreme, I love my Beyond, but I prefer the Crystal as image quality has always been my number one priority. For others, it's comfort. I'll have a new Beyond video out next weekend. The MicroOLED tech is really astonishing.
@@VRFlightSimGuy ya after watching your video about the reverb being bricked I gotta start shopping. I’m with you I want the best quality for my flight sim. But I also don’t want hassles, looking for the easiest plug in and go
My man, change to a flight stick when flying aircraft with a flight stick. :) I could never fly an Airbus with a yoke, or 737 with a stick, it's a blasphemy from my POV. :)
@VRFlightSimGuy oh boy. My comment ended having a completely different meaning. Instead of "My man, change to a flight stick...", I wanted to say "You are my man, always changing from yoke to a flight stick if needed." I do that every time. Last night I was flying A2A with a Honeycomb, then removed it, bought COWS DA-42, plugged in my VKB Gladiator NXT, and did a flight. Instant fav after the first flight, amazing addon in every sense of the word, and I don’t say that lightly for anything MSFS related.
