ZooTampa at Lowry Park released plans Thursday to transform its facility over the course of the next 20 years at an estimated cost of $125 million. The expansion would include a new South America-themed exhibit with jaguars, sea lions, and giant river otters, an improved and renovated manatee rescue center and river otter exhibit with new jellyfish exhibit, and an expansion for africa to add lions, and over night stays for the zoo

Not to mention Improved Asia exhibits with an Orangutan line going overhead and Tiger Overpasses. And an African exhibit where it's in three Layers, ground level for the Red River Hogs, Middle for Gorillas, and a Canopy for Monkeys like Guenons.

I grew up in Tampa, it is interesting how more things were put into place from when we saw them in 2000. Thank you for your info it's a great job you have done with it.

Such a colorfull zoo. Awesome to see! Some of the inspiration highlights for me are the African Wild Dogs, Okapi, Manatee and Orangutan exhibits.

I want to say that snake you focused on is a timber rattlesnake. I've seen them a few times out in the wild.

I use to own a couple of Conure Parakeets a sun Parakeet and a Jandaya parakeet and I loved them to bits unfortunately they passed away in either 2018 or 2019 but I don' regret owning them one bit they brought a lot of joy to my life

As someone who used to work at this zoo for a few years it was fun to see your perspective. The Florida section had a a big revamp it seems. And I have never seen vultures all over like that so they must've learned the feeding times to steal a snack off the animals, lol. The gharial's were off exhibit if the water was that low, but at least many animals were out and active in the video. Neighboring Busch Gardens has a very impressive tiger, gorilla, and African safari as well.

We got to see so many of the animals! What did you do when you worked there?

Retail. Not very exciting but it was still fun to see and learn about zoo operations and be around the animals!

This made me nostalgic from when I went to Parque das Aves. It's so nice to see another zoo so invested in animal conservation efforts! Poor cougar, though. The phalanges which support the feet of cats is made to bear the weight of the animal, but if they are lost, the cat will have to walk on the phalange which connect to it, which is bare, vascularized bone and it hurts horribly to walk like that. Declawed house cats face that issue and are hesitant to walk. I hope this isn't the case with cougars, but again, carnivores don't typically show signs of pain or distress unless they're terribly sick or suffering from unbearable pain. In any case, I'm glad this kitty is being looked after, :)

Thanks for posting this great walkthrough! I'm a Planet Zoo amateur and I'm currently trying to build the Tampa Zoo in franchise mode as my first project. Tampa is my home town so I thought it would be a fun challenge with some nostalgia.

They have a TV series. They show the manatees coming in injured? They also tell the story of the Florida panthers. They are losing their land space ☹.

Awww, Walter the injured panther. I remember him from fall 2019, but he wasn't very active that day. It's interesting to watch you go through and recognize things. I have to say I am disappointed I didn't know I could've fed lorikeets. Ah well, next time!

Zoo Tampa is a pretty good zoo. Some really outdated areas like the Tiger habitat is incredibly small, but overall I've seen worse. Busch Gardens and Zoo Miami are the better zoos in Florida
