Oh my goodness! I always say you are right on par with your videos. I literally just sat down from repotting my largest orchid, my Bc Morning Glory 😂 Which is now in full sphagnum moss 🙌🏾 it only took me almost two hours but so worth it. Yours looks absolutely stunning! Love the repot and as always, thank you for sharing!!

My most senior orchids are several years into my ownership, and I haven't repotted it other than the day I purchased them. I just despise repotting orchids so much, that I went full charcoal and terra cotta, and allowed nature to take its course. I may end up repotting eventually, but there's just something about taking an orchid and repotting it every two years (as most folks would advise), disturbing all of the roots, and coming in to repot all over again when the orchid had just finally become established. I understand that everyone has their own thing that works for them, but only when I finally left my orchids alone (leaving them out in the rain and dappled shade in the warm weathers, and not disturbing their roots) did I finally get an annual show of blooms that follow natural climate patterns in my region.

Hi! I have a question for you totally unrelated to this orchid. A couple of years ago you introduced us to Gemma LED light bulbs. I ordered 3 18 watt bulbs. I had one burn out yesterday and I wanted your opinion. Are they still the best bulb out there or are there other bulbs available now that are not quite as pricey but just as good?
Thank you so much for your help on this!

Hi Dani should I repot my cattleya's when it has new pseudo bulb growth or wait until I see new roots growing?

Hi Danni, I really enjoy your videos. I have started my own orchid collection recently and I learn a ton from you! I have a question: in this video you mention this orchid is almost specimen size. What do you mean by that?

She just means a large, mature and well developed plant that you would expect to see in a Botanical Garden or an exhibition

You are the expert. So, if you use bigger pots that you know will not kill the orchid, then people should keep their mouths shut. I use bigger pots as well and never had a problem as long as you know how to water the orchid. If you are an overwaterer, then yeah, you will have problems.

Hi Danny, great repotting video, thanks for sharing. I have one of those hybrid but mine though grow well, hasn't bloomed for me yet. Does it need lots of light to bloom? Any advice to get it to bloom is highly appreciated. 😊 Thanks and Happy growing.

Hi, I think more light would help yes, since the purpurata is a parent, I’d go for the brightest light you can provide without burning the leaves, even artificial light is ok :)

    Hi
I looked at one of my orchids lastnight and it had already bloomed when I bought it. I have a question I saw something green on the spike part of of it is dry aways above this green growth. It looks like a keiki and I'm not sure what to do. Can you give me some advice?

I only have two 36" wide x 6" deep window sills for my Phalaenopsis and just as I finished repotting my 6" Dancing Butterfly in to her new 8" pot, now my 6" Soft Cloud is growing out of it's pot, omg. It is very hard to water such a big pot as there are no decorative pots I can find that can accommodate them. It's a good problem to have, right?

No need to cut them when they are still green. However, there is nothing you could do wrong regarding the flower spikes so that you would end up killing the orchid anyway
