There really is nothing like The Paramedic Coach's videos out there for aspiring paramedics or EMT's- especially not for free. Thank you so much for putting this content out in the world!
I am currently enrolled in an EMT course. I wish I would of seen these earlier. These are very informative videos and very helpful. Thank you so much for explaining it very simple! 👍
Ong I'm in school rn and they don't teach you at all if It wasn't for stuff like this 100% someone would die because of the lack of teaching they do in school
ICU RN here. Had a patient a while back who had received a liver transplant (NASH) who had a problem with the biliary duct anastomosis and was on CRRT due to kidney failure as well. I was still a new ICU RN at the time but he had gotten septic and was in 4 presser shock. Not only was he one 4 pressors, but we had put him on Methylene Blue which I’d never know was used in medicine. It was kinda interesting though in that it is used to to PREVENT vasodilation instead of working like a pressor. He didn’t make it. Even with all of these, his BP was still 70’s/30’s. It was sad though. Family still kept him as a FULL and had to run a code that went nowhere until he died.
Taking my National in a couple days and brushing up on a couple topics that had me mixed up. Now I can check types of shock off the list! I made easy notes and flashcards from your explanation. No excessive jargon like the books, no back and forth like the chapters, just clean cut. Thank you so much for taking the time to offer this to people. When I'm ready to go paramedic, you'll be on my list of resources 👍 🚑
I’m currently enrolled in emt class right now I wish I found your vid sooner. I’m struggling with my class and nervous about my tests. And just watching one vid of your I started understanding.
We learned that aswell as sepsis neurogenic and anaphylaxis that psychogenic is also part of Distributive shock and the best way I remembered the 4 is N.A.P.S
Thank you so much am really rusty on my EMT stuff your videos are great 👍 I have been a EMT since the 1980s now retired. Keep up the videos really helpful 👍😊 thanks again btw am a NREMT ⚕️😊👍🚑👨⚕️👩⚕️

So if a coronary artery bleeds, and the blood fills the pericardium, causing a cardiac tamponade. Is there going to be a cardiogenic, obstructive, or hypovolemic shock?
Sooo say someone was involved in a MVC and both of their lower extremities are deformed but there’s only small amounts of bleeding what type of shock could they be in if they had signs and symptoms of shock? Would it still be hypovolemic shock? I saw a question similar to this on my exam so just curious. Also I will be purchasing your program Monday because I failed my NREMT yesterday because of Trauma 😩 I will be retaking it as soon as possible but at least I know what to expect now
Yes! Evan! I really mean every single word I have said to you about all of what you are saying, trying to do for all of us, also all of your students. I really want to thank you for everything you have done for me now also in the start of my journey of first becoming a EMT first and then, finally a paramedic. Thanks again for everything you have done for not only for me but everyone else that is lost. how would you describe the difference between decompensated shock and compensated? i know bp is a big indicator but sometimes the symptoms are so similar
I need help understanding vitals with each type of shock. For some reason I cannot get my head around the vitals expected with each shock. BP, pulse, breathing rates, etc. Anyone have any tips??
I'm in emt rn and how they taught us is completely different from this I can understand this in school I have no idea what there talking about but at the same time they use a power point that they only say word for word and have been using for years
Really depends. If they’re in hypovolemic shock they could be unconscious supine. If they have some sort of septic or carcinogenic shock, they could be sitting awake and oriented but in a lot of pain. Anaphylactic shock vs obstructive vs everything looks very different. Important if you suspect shock, start shock management

My mom's gonna hate me, I'll be talking nonstop about shock for the next 24 hours haha. Can't wait to watch!
He's so fun to watch
EMS so important yet so under paid 😡
Pay would rise if workers quit
Overworked and underpaid sums up healthcare in general
@@Brd876 yeah blame the workers for their low pay
Security or police medical pays much higher
@justsomeordinarykid923 it's the bosses fault, that's why they hare salary discussions
I think salary should be public to ensure fair negotiations
In NREMT they teach 4 Distributive shocks now- SNAP: Septic, Nuerogenic, Anaphylactic, Psycogenic

“Taking notes” 📝
i usually read it in my book, look it up on paramedic coach and then right before test i put u on in the car omw to school and usually i do alright
can obstructive shock be like a blood clot or no?
There are 9 basic forms of shock. Not 4. Cardiogenic, anaphylactic, neurogenic, septic, hypovolemic, respiratory, insulin, metabolic, and psychogenic.
When a patient is in one of these shocks
What kind of position should they be in?
Really depends. If they’re in hypovolemic shock they could be unconscious supine. If they have some sort of septic or carcinogenic shock, they could be sitting awake and oriented but in a lot of pain. Anaphylactic shock vs obstructive vs everything looks very different.
