I got a tdm I think it’s easier to ride than the varadero because of the size! Got ohlins suspension and front ohlins sprockets. The varadero is more of a touring bike if you want to travel across Europe for example. The tdm can tour as well comfortable enough but not as comfortable as the varadero.

You gonna miss it a couple of days,after that you will enjoy it more than your z1000. Excelent confort and protection to wind,long travel suspensions will feel you ride on air and many (bad) roads you didnt dare riding with z1000, they will be open.
You are a good rider mate,i would like to be able to ride my varadero like you. But my friend, on public roads you are taking a big risk. You can't rely on yourself alone...the cars and other people are there. Keep safe What tires are you using? Still the karoo street? I have the metzeler next but i don't like them that much
