@@MooseStacheFlyer I've had nothing but good experiences with them, and I'm only a scratch-builder (i.e., I haven't spent a ton of money with them). I'm hoping to make their open house in 2020. Not sure about Oshkosh or any other events yet. Been away from my project for a bit, but I'm getting back to it. Keep the videos coming, it'll be great to watch your progress. I'm 4 years into it but as a kit builder, you're likely to finish well before me.
Thanks for sharing your passion for aviation and about your dad. My dad was a bush pilot in Alaska and had me hooked on flying since I was 3 years old. Been flying since 18 years old and also building now. DM any time.
He meant Mexico, MO, not Missouri, Mexico. I've got the 750 STOL kit too. Sad to say it's been sitting idle for years. Originally that was because I needed build space and because I'm a world class procrastinator. Then I broke my back. But 5 years later I'm finally starting to be able to do things again. And just to make matters even that much better, we're in the process of building a house and hangar in an airpark in Tennessee. The guys at Zenith are absolutely fantastic, and they'll bend over backwards to support you. And it's not just the folks involved with sales. All the employees at Zenith are treated as integral parts of their efforts, they all take great pride in what they do, and any one of them will jump at the chance to help if needed. It's far more like a family than a business, and the builders are all welcome members of that family. Join Zenith Aircraft Builders and Flyers if you haven't already done so. And for anyone else even remotely considering a Zenith, I can't recommend highly enough that you attend a rudder workshop, preferably at the factory but anywhere will do. Once you've experienced the Zenith family, your decision making process will be much more informed than before.
I didn't mean to be critical. Just wanted to avoid possible confusion for others. I know how hard it can be to bring a video production together. That's why I don't do it. LOL! I still have everything to go except the rudder, which I may actually rebuild. I'm building in Tullahoma, and things will get going once the hangar is complete and we get moved in. Motivation not necessary. I may do some back and forth with you once I get started though. Are you on Zenith Builders and Flyers?
It's one of those things that get more comfortable as you get used to it. I'd say just do it when you feel comfortable and don't try to force it until then.
I settled on a 750 STOL as well. I am setting up shop and have bought tools. i will go to Mexico in the spring and am looking forward to that. I am involved in aviation because of My Dad as well. I hope to meet you soon!

Your experiences at 7:00 are similar to the experiences I also had and are part of the reasons why I chose to build a Cruzer. I had made up my mind to build a particular aircraft (I won't mention which one) but when I got a chance to visit their booth at Oskosh and interact with them, I was so turned off. Even the owner just gave me a cursory "Glad to meet you..." and walked off. Then I went to Zenith. NIGHT AND DAY. Talked directly with Sebastian and Robert. Did not feel rushed or like I was an inconvenience and was encouraged to sit in all of their aircraft and try them on for size. The rest is history.
