Austin Rodarte I read an article one time, where Steve Perry said he would never be a judge on idol or any of the other talent shows. Randy Jackson asked him several times to be a guest judge. Steve said he didn't have it in him to tell someone they aren't good enough for the business. Especially after being told no so many times himself. I think it would be amazing if he did though, or as a mentor

It's also true that the issues that come up when a woman tries to belt this song are somewhat different from what Steve experienced as a singer. Which she does, for an 18 year old. Steve Perry clearly think she killed it as well, so if you have nothing good to say, then don't say anything at all.
