Sorry folks, it appears my autofocus didn't work in this video...I've looked over my new camera and fixed it...hopefully it wont be an issue in the future. Overall quality should improve vastly with the next bunch of videos.
I did get Warhammer Diskwars and have a second core set and two of each expansion ordered, I think that you really only need 2 copies of the core set and the upcoming expansions to really benefit from competitive customization. You can play with one set of each the core and upcoming expansions, but will likewise be limited in what you can field. I think that a third expansion is really hard to justify for the cost, when there are some places on Amazon that sell some of the individual armies, so if you have two core sets of Empire but really want that third Huntsman but don't see the need for the third high elves, demons, and orcs, that will save you money.
I really enjoy this game, though I haven't gotten to play it as much as I'd like. I went out and got some green felt (a little bigger than the recommended 3'x3' play area so there's space for tokens and such) since that will help keep the disks from sliding when being flipped.
Great review, Ryan. You are adept at presenting a game in a way that it is not told entirely from your preference, allowing the viewer to figure out if this is the kind of game for themselves based on the game play displayed.
I have to admit, I find the new camera angle disconcerting. It almost gives me vertigo. Thanks for the review though. Can someone advise me as to whether to get this, or X-Wing, as a two player skirmish game?
First let me say, looks like a cool game. I agree with you Ryan it's cheap to get into. I use to play mini games too and your right it's expensive. But here is the problem like all those games. You are going to get those Uber nerd gamers who will get into fights or severe arguments like "You moved your disc 1/2 a centimeter closer when turning it" "You can't attack me then" That's why I don't play that type of game anymore. Got tired of the idiots playing like that. I am a relaxed gamer and just want to have fun and laugh at them. That just gets them madder. Think I will go play Rampage with my daughter right now, a lot more fun. Thanks for the review Ryan.
The main problem with game is that from first round - all armies are far away from each other. When you move your unit? you can't make an attack after this. So you would not like to move your troops to opponent's range attack distance, because next turn - opponent will hit you. Same for your opponent. When first player moves troops to middle area out of range to any attacks, second player would not like to move troops closer because first player on 3rd turn will attack with range. And this loop will continue) And it is because after movement we can't make any actions... Please tell me if i do not understand something)
I know it's been 5 years already, but maybe you will read this regardless. ;) Moving first is not a problem at all. That's what you have your "cannon fodder" units for. To let the enemy attack them. When he does, you can attack his units with your other and/or more powerful units in the next round. And if your enemy doesn't attack your cheap units, they will attack him eventually. As you see, this is a non-issue. Also, dwarves for example field units that benefit from being attacked first.

Nice review. Clear, concise, and laid out at a good pace. Thanks!

I love miniatures games. Miniatures games are expensive. This is a miniature-like game. This is not expensive. I think I'll get it!
What is this draft variant you speak of at the end of the video?
I think this game is amazing. One of my all time favourites after only 3 plays
This game has actually better ruleset than any GW miniature game. Awesome design and pure joy to play!

X-Wing is an investment. The miniatures are not cheap. If that doesn't bother you, then I would go with that.

Anyone in Jax, FL up for a game?
This game is pure gold
This is just a silly cliche to put a box on a shelf to take it of the shelf during a review. And you even use the same spot every time :)
