Mickey Rourke was fresh off Barfly at the time of this interview and you can see it in his mannerisms. He was still method acting Henry Chinaski

THANK YOU! It´s great and tragic watching him in this period of his lyfe. He was the Marlon Brando and James Dean of his time. In ANGEL HEART he proved that he was as good or better than a thrilling Robert de Niro. Rourke was not about technic but guts. After the movie that was a sensation, he seemed more fucked up than ever, from that point he choosed films that were honest but not very good, altought his acting was great. He refused all the big hits from Hollywood, I thin PLATOON would have been a great chance for him. But knowing how depressed and angry he was ... We are watching here the beggining of the end. But anyway he´s afighter and he would reborn again. Mickey is the fuckin´man

Agree with all you have said here.....sad that the inner demons nearly destroyed him for a long time. What a talent...what a waste. He has a courageous soul........sometimes he is misguided.........I wish he would give up smoking though.....it has changed his lovely soft speaking voice, which was full of character............especially since his younger brother died of cancer........his breathing at times sounds very laboured. I'm alwasy team Mickey still !!!

Mickey had three films released in '87 - this, Barfly, and A Prayer for the Dying. All great and vastly different performances.

Не мог ,видимо,решить быть актёром или боксером( характер драчуна)Жаль, посвяти он себя только актерству ,мог бы достичь небывалых высот,но взрывной характер и умение портить отношения со всеми,режиссерами,сценаристами,актёрами и т.д. итог -- изувеченное лицо и выбитые зубы,а затем пластические операции,прямо какая- то зависимость от них у него😢😢😢
