Thank you for your reaction, Dear! DQ's phenomenal 9-23-22 Almaty live performance of this composition and this MV are prophetic masterpieces of transcendental pro-planet/antiwar art activism & spiritual experiences wherein Dimash issues a sincere, passionate yet heartbreaking call to action to love one another & unite to stop all aggression & to save our Mother Earth, the sacred womb from which all life sprung! Let us shun our failing, self-serving Pied Piper leaders whose lunacy continues to lead us all to our mutual destruction by ignoring our species' fate & the "tightening noose" of climate change, hunger, poverty; by instead wasting time & resources & countless lives by choosing to "lead us to the slaughter" by engaging in these senseless, endless wars!
YES! Tons to unpack & dependent upon a person's frame of reference, their interpretation of the video & DQ's meaning will be colored by their own preconceptions & life experiences, etc. The verse that says "share the love, not shares" I believe can also be interpreted to mean "share the love" in real time in meaningful ways person-to-person caring for others & their needs, "not shares" such as empty social media virtual "shares." That's the way I took it anyway.
Did you get the verse that said "we have passed the moment of "Imagine?" That's clearly a reference to Lennon's iconic song about the utopia he dreamed of & I personally believe DQ further means that due to the damages we as a species have caused to the planet, we now are passed that moment of plenty & that the "world is [no longer] the feast" & now we must truly work very hard together to overcome our limited, finite resources or "Do we have to starve?" DQ asks us like "what's it going to take" for us to "WAKE UP?" People are actually dying from famine NOW. He proclaims THIS is OUR LAST CHANCE, we must immediately act as there's "not a moment to lose" before the Earth implodes! #TimesUp #ItsTimeToSaveTheEarth
We must awaken spiritually. We must raise our collective human consciousness, unite, be as ONE --- live and let live --- & understand our shared fate under our shared sky. "Can we balance on the edge of a fiery grave" with all these competing self-interests & is it even possible to save our future on this planet? To avert our own extinction & achieve that utopian peace we all desperately need to survive as a species so that we might enjoy peaceful, prosperous lifetimes for ourselves & future generations, DQ begs us to #ChooseLife UNITE!
Dimash is a empathetic, lyrical genius whose virtuosity serves as a conduit for the pure & wondrous light of Heaven as well as the pain & suffering of our human Hells-on-Earth (many of our own making); he is the most excellent ambassador for a peaceful planet & our survival we could ever envision. #WeAreChoosingLife ☸✡☪✝🕉☯☮ #SaveTheEarth 🌏🌍🌎#SaveAllChildren

In this reaction especially , but always with your reactions to Dimash, I feel your heart and soul just as I do when I hear and see Dimash. Thank you for being so open and sensitive, so genuine and real. It's a joy to watch you taking the music and the story into your being. I also feel privileged and honored to know Dimash through his music and efforts for peace, to have him in my life and you as well to share him with. While many people are mesmerized by his voice, talent and creativity and sense he is a gift from above, you are the only person to say what I believe as well, that the Creator of the Universe, has sent Dimash to be a world leader at this time to unite people and promote peace thru music and thru his personal example. People love HIM and are so inspired and uplifted by the sound of his voice and the immediate connection to his soul, their own soul, and to the souls of others as well. I will definitely start watching you and Dimash on your Facebook channel. I am Jewish and want to thank you for your comments and deep feelings about the Holocaust. All I could think of when I went to Auschwitz right after my mother died was how precious every person is. My heart breaks for every human being suffering from cruelty, war and oppression. You are truly a man of peace with a big heart, and I suspect you are in your position with your ability to reach people on purpose too Thanks for being one of the good guys. As you said, it's going to take all of us to do our part to bring about peace..🎶✌

War is a senseless, cruel thing. Nothing can be solved by war - it's only incredible losses of people, lives, happiness. Its victims are not only those who are attacked, but also those who attacked. It seems that the attacker does not understand what the greatest gift is Life. And it's very sad. I want to say that I was at this concert. When Dimash sang this song, for some reason I didn't look at him or at the screens. You can say that I felt this song with my whole body and soul and cried. And now, listening to this piece, I cry. Dimash, in my understanding, is the greatest person, a singer. Our happiness is that we are his contemporaries and we can see and hear Dimash in reality.

rewatched that new song of Dimash today one line stood out to me One of the most profound lines in The Story Of One Sky is the line "Learn to share the love, Not shares" Not shares meaning stop making money out of war rich people have many shares in companies that profit from weapon manufacturing making them richer while the innocent suffer sadly this is why war exists. MONEY and GREED.

Good to see someone spotted that. It comes just before the line "We have passed the moment of 'Imagine'' ". 'Imagine' is in quotes in the lyrics as it refers to the John Lennon song which was an anthem of peace.

I understand what you say and agree with the feelings, but I think it was a Dinglish. He adds an "s" by mistake at the end of words. He did that in SOS also, and if you didn't hear it in context, it would not be nice what he is saying. (According to a couple of French reactors.)
Share the love that is not being shared. I think it is supposed to be "shared".
I agree with your sentiments, though.

the film is based on a story written by Dimash with his own screenplay. (I worked on this piece for 3 years). Director Alina Veripya spoke about creating the music video for the new song: the clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. The main character, two friends linked by childhood stories and symbols of eternal friendship. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he drowns. However, there is already competition in these children's story, where the boys love one girl and she chooses one. The second goes through a kind of psychological The disintegration and transformation of children's problems into an adult world of totalitarianism and struggle. When he becomes a commander, the opponent carries the idea of saving the war: the young boy who presents the tokens of friendship he made will marry the girl (Dimash). She will give birth. A baby girl (murdered) and a mother waiting for another baby. Friends were scattered, and the third friend became an enemy, friends are enemies, because of the war, It is shocking how the cry of true helplessness of a father embracing his murdered daughter is practically coupled with the cries of a woman in labor who brings a child into the traumatized world of soldier (Dimash). That he was searching for his family and that he had found the dead body of his daughter and I think believing that his pregnant wife had also died, and felt the death of life, he decides, as the only way out in that moment of uncontrollable pain is revenge. He killed the evil embodied in his opponent, and then was killed by soldiers' bullets. ,and when Dimash died, his son was born, and the mother died during childbirth. But the boy is saved by his society of different religions and races, he wears his mother's talisman. He will surely grow up and become a messenger of peace on earth, like a worthy son of his father.A symbol of a future without evil, without wars, a world moving towards peaceful coexistence. The light of hope and peace on earth,In a world without walls, without unfair constraints, without differences or contempt for different ethnic groups or nations because the supreme value above all is: love and peace We are all human beings, we share the same planet Earth, and we owe each other as "brothers" the respect for life. In the end, he joined with people of different races and religions from another era that touches the present and the future In a world without walls, without unfair constraints, without differences or contempt for different ethnic groups or nations because the supreme value above all is: love and peace We are all human beings, we share the same planet Earth, and we owe each other as "brothers" the respect for life. ,Piper represents the force Totalitarian, oppressor who is not alien to us and who understands that war is the way to make people free (real nonsense).Piper (is the name of a soldier's opponent, a soldier who only hates, annihilates and destroys. What a paradox for a friend who, in his childhood, saves soldier Dimash from drowning. But life is like this, full of changes, good and bad, Evil, war and contempt happen when we lose love for one another, and our way to God and making peace and love in the world is not difficult but possible if we work together for love and peace and stop wars, hate and contempt. It is about calling for cooperation, to save lives, love, friendship and the land of our children. “Art is a sacred message in life, and these are the true artists.. And the earth needs these reformers in their precious, true and immortal work for the sake of love and peace on earth..Thank God for his gifts .

How can you not admire, respect, and love such a wholesome artist with a beautiful heart and soul? Dimash’s song, video, and message are so powerful and compelling.
We could feel his pain, passion, and desperation in his heavy metal like scream because he truly cares.
Dimash has found his calling as an artist: presenting his Kazakh culture to the world, but also spreading compassion, love, respect, and unity through his voice and music.
Indeed, in this short film (it’s more than a simple MV at this point!), Dimash is showing us that war is NOT the path to peace. War does not unite people like the antagonist preaches; but leads to “senseless horror”, destruction, grief, and death. At the end, he shows us the alternative to war by leading people from different faiths and cultures to the true path of peace and unity.
One should strive for understanding among different peoples, cultures, and religions so that there’s mutual respect in spite of our differences, hence the necessity of an open dialogue to solve any conflicts. I grew up in a multicultural environment, my parents being from different countries, ethnicities, and faiths… So yes, it’s possible to make this ideal a reality if each and every one of us raises our children to be open minded and respectful of others, regardless of their religious beliefs and backgrounds.
At last, I admire Dimash’s strong conviction, courage, and beautiful soul.
I hope that his powerful, heartfelt plea for peace and unity will be heard all across the world. Being a Dear is an honor and I’m so happy that you’re one yourself.
Thank you so much Olly for your genuine and deep appreciation of Dimash’s talent and wholesome personality; and also thank you for supporting him by sharing his heartfelt plea for peace. The Story of One Sky is such a compelling masterpiece! We’re choosing life… ☮️💟

Every time I watch a reaction to this song/video, I hear little snippets of different interpretations or questions. I love it. I thnk that's exactly what Dimash wants, for people to have to think about it and search their souls for what they believe. This is a true work of art and masterpiece. I am not an overly spiritual or emotional person, but I do believe there is something special about Dimash and that he has an amazing power to unite people. Having seen him in concert 3 times, I can attest that there is some kind of power or force that he exudes. All I can feel during his concerts is love. Love from him tot he audience and love from the audience to him. It is unbelievable and I sincerely hope you will get to see him in concert soon!

Yes, action speaks louder than words. 👍👍👍💕💕💕🌷🌷🌷 I feel that great created products, be they books, paintings, music, movies, etc, always offer several layers of understanding. The storyline and the lyrics are just a starting point for the discussion and thoughts. Yes, it’s possible that childhood unresolved issues may lead to a twisted personality in someone who was obviously altruistic before. The other issue, which was subtly hinted at, was a race issue (taller, fairer vs shorter, darker). Then again, whether the girl married Dimash and whether the killed girl was his daughter are secondary to his anguish and despair at the loss of life. There’s a burning sign that says Waldenberg. It’s an allusion to the small German town of Waldenburg where the German made its last stand in WWII. The American army completely bombarded it, pretty much annihilating its inhabitants - the innocents pay the price of war. Dimash character : was he in the dictator’s army or the rebel army? According to the lyrics, - turning from wrong to right/ stop the trailing- he was probably fighting in the side of the oppression at first, but - from the point where he stops wearing a helmet- decides to stop following the dictator. However, if this is so, why is the insignia on his arm different from the one on the officers’ arms and caps? That symbol by the way, was explained by another reactor. It’s the piece in a mariner’s compass and sextant that helps you determine your location and find your direction. The dictator adopted it but removed the hole from the design, meaning he cannot use the sun (in the day) or the North Star (at night) to determine his position. I.e. he has lost his direction in life. Those pilgrims, or travelers, in my opinion, are the seekers of truth throughout history. They are usually religious people. At the end, yes, I believe it’s a smirk. As the Dimash character dies after choosing violence, he realizes it’s not the solution - does not defend himself, does not shoot others, does not try fleeing- and screams out that he should have chosen life. He then joins the band of travelers seeking light and truth. Yup, you fools still on earth and alive, did you figure that out yet?
The woman giving birth- that scene could be also more symbolic than real. When would you have a bunch of men witnessing a birth? Even for the birth of prophets or messiahs, men should get out. It’s possibly showing how humans are still waiting for the birth of a savior.
    Just my two cents’ worth.

Here are some of my takes on this
Definitely deserves an oscar for short film, and grammy for song. Dimash is without a doubt one in a billion. The voice alone is a gift. This music video is as raw and real as it gets. What got me most was all the cultures walking together towards peace, when the gentleman who I believe was representing Christianity(Jesus) falls and the others stop and go to the fallen man to all pray for him as one unit, as the people with Dimash's wife pray as she goes through a very difficult childbirth that will tragically be fatal for her as you can see in the back when they hold the newborn baby. She is not alive.
After Dimash's life ends, it begins again in his newborn son. Dimash is then reunited with his wife but as children. At the very end, Dimash, (you can see the light blood stains on his shirt) Takes the lead of the united culture walkers and walks on to what I believe is represented as Heaven(the light) and all cultures, religions walk together with him towards light and peace. It is no doubt one of the most flawlessly orchestrated production of a music video.
It's a difficult watch no doubt. That Dimash ends the life of the guy who saved his decades before. How a friend used the symbol from a gift to eventually become a dictator using that very symbol. Note the symbol of his Army was the same as the necklace pendant Dimash made with the symbols he found in the box by the boat. You can see the necklace lying on the podium at the beginning when his former friend is speaking. You can see the second necklace was transferred from his wife to the newborn, indicating she did die after giving birth. Finally you see the last necklace on Dimash. Truly a tragic and beautifully made short movie, accompanied with the most intense vocals I've ever heard.
    A complete and total masterpiece.

    • @Summer_nd
      @Summer_nd Год назад +5

Thank you for a great reaction! I think your analysis of this masterpiece is spot on. There is so much imagery and symbolism packed into this mini movie that it is hard to take it all in only watching it once. It needs to be watch several times to absorb everything Dimash is trying to portray. There is no doubt about what his message is though. We need peace, we need to stop following world leaders that are leading us into what could turn out to be a nuclear confrontation. I feel that we are closer to that becoming a reality than ever before. I also agree with you that Dimash is here at this time for a reason, to wake us up to what we ar doing to each other before it is too late. War is about power and control but I also believe it is about greed. War is big business and many of the people pushing us into war are personally profitting from the killing of innocent people.

Wolf I congratulate you. You are one of the few who highlighted that moment where Piper holds in his hand the symbol of his childhood friendship and raises his tearful eyes to the height... is there still a chance of redemption for this man? Could there have been ANOTHER ending if Dimash decided NOT to kill...? We don't know. What we do know is that Dimash opens a door for us to another possibility. To break the chain of hate with our personal decision. As one day Gandhi, Mandela, Luther King, John Paul II did. Common men, like us, who one day decided to say ENOUGH to hate and violence. Sowers of peace, who like the young Dimash today, do an extraordinary good to all of our Humanity.

Thank you Wolf, I think we have many ambassadors on our beautiful earth right now but I also think everything aligned perfectly for Dimash to be born into a very beautiful family. This has helped to create the person he is and has become and will help him lead millions of people/souls towards the light. What an amazing composition and film, most of us are moved to tears when we watch and hear it but please be aware that many are not moved and respond with coldness, let's not forget that each of us has the capacity for good and evil. The difficulty with war, particularly invasion, is that defence has to be made. We should not allow crazy, power hungry leaders go unchecked, history is full of them and we have them still waging war today. I think all three characters lost their lives in this film but the baby lived to lead the united peoples towards the light. The character at the end could be the grown up baby or it could be the spirit of Dimash's character leading other souls towards the light, we will have to ask our beloved Dimash if we ever get the chance. This composition and film is so poignant right now, don't you think? Sending love, peace and unity to all, let's get together and move towards the light ❤🙏

I like the interpretation of another commenter I saw--that the people in the procession are the souls of victims of violence, from all different faiths and peoples, on a pilgrimage seeking the light and truth. The character that looks like Jesus (to me, anyway) who dies, reminds me that He was willing to give His life to guide us to the light and the truth. With that interpretation, the robed Dimash at the end would indeed be Dimash--he died by violence, after committing violence. But was the violence justified or not? That is a question I think we are supposed to ponder.
Dimash eventually, in pain and anger, in an act of retribution, kills the war leader, his previous friend--and then he turns to face the soldiers. He could have tried to shoot his way out or just shot randomly at them in a last act of violence, but instead he stands there and lets them shoot him. There is a definite element of self-sacrifice there. Is that a portrayal of passive resistance? Again, I'm Christian--Jesus led the way with that in his acceptance of his crucifixion. Gandhi is another I think of. Is that the way we should defend ourselves when we are under attack?
      So many questions here...

« This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.
Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people.
Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way.
The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war.
The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against?
The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. We must find better ways to keep evil in check. iowaculture.gov/history/education/educator-resources/primary-source-sets/world-war-ii/american-troops-move-through
The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffets the pilgrims and hinder progress. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby.
The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.”
Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect.
Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time.
We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Baraka Bashad. »

Dear Wolf, I am glad to see you again. I love watching you listen to Dimash's voice, and even sing along. I think I understood the story that Dimash made in this clip. Here she is:
// Childhood of friends. One boy saves another. It's a go. After all, he could not save - what is in the power of the child? Everyone is alive and happy. The rescued boy gave his friends homemade talismans, which were then on everyone's chest all their lives.
// Children have grown up. A boy rescuer from childhood became the one who gives orders, controls the fate of others and solves problems through war. The boy who was rescued became the one who follows orders, who in the war is an ordinary soldier. And before the war, the guy who was saved as a child married the same girl. They have a young daughter. In war, a soldier shoots, he is shot - attackers, defenders, and civilians are killed when they get in the way of the shooters.
// It's time for the soldier's wife to give birth. The little daughter was left unattended and became an innocent victim of the attacking enemies. Her father found her body. A terrible, inhuman cry of "for what?", "why?". And in parallel, the female cry that accompanies the birth of a new life.
// It's Time for Fierce Revenge. Former best friend stood up against former best friend. The machine gun burst without hesitation or hesitation, and the body of the commander fell on the table, where he had just pointed with his finger where to kill. The soldier outlived the former friend by a few minutes - he was shot dead by the commander's guards. The dead soldier didn't just fall to the floor. His body fell and his soul fell into the "water". But not just in the water, but as if it got into the amniotic fluid in the womb. Seven times we hear heartbreaking screams. «We’re choosing life-а-а-а…». They are heard in parallel with the cries of the woman in labor. And a child is born. The soul of the dead soldier was revived in a new life - on the baby's chest we see his talisman on a string.
// And the souls of the dead people and living refugees from the war of all times and peoples, all races and nationalities of the Earth, all religions go together away from all the wars of different times in different countries, but all go in the same direction. Somewhere there is the promised land, where the eternal desired peace for all. Dimash's soul is a guide to the bright future.

The final scene represents life after death. The birth of a child actually means the death of a person in the world.
