0:11 Remove the clips, screw and rubber and heat the headlight

2:35 Remove the projector from the holder, it's possible without removing the sensor. This will prevent problems with the alignment afterwards.
3:08 After the new projector is mounted, connect the ballasts to the bulb and mount the AFS projector unit again

@@mrmuhtish It's a DIY product and you need to open the headlight etc. so not 100% plug and play, but there is no wiring modification needed. With AFS systems it might be needed to let the AFS system be re-calibrated by the dealership (or other coding company).
On a facelift you don't have to remove the "carriage" in which the projector sits in. Unscrew the 4 screws and it will come out through the service port (the one which you use to change bulbs). It will fit the EVOX-R 2 100% plug'n play. Even the high beams' connector is the same. You do still have to remove the "lens" because you need to remove the shroud and a extra reflector.
This mainly applies to NON-ILS headlights
also extension leads are not needed D1S bulb fits as if its the original projector.
I didn't understand well, I'm from Croatia, can you please explain more? Do you think that the glass should not be removed, but that the projector can also be changed from the inside where the bulb is changed? and if the glass needs to be removed, what is the glass glued with and can it be glued with windshield glue?
@@aia6154 You have to remove the "glass" because the silver coloured shroud around the projector lens needs to be removed and behind that is a small metal reflector which also needs to be removed. The "glass" is sealed with a butyl seal which softens with heat. You don't necessarily need new sealant because there is a lot of it already. One heads up is that one of the screws that needs to be removed is under the sealant (I don't remember what it holds on). Also if it looks like the projector doesn't fit, most likely it's upside down.
@@aia6154 I'd recommend changing a new set of "glasses" while doing this if your originals were cloudy. The projector does come out of the service hole but like I stated in my other comment, there is hardware on the front side that needs to be uninstalled before the projector comes out.

how long and at what temperature did you set the heat gun? great video! 😀
We use a setting of 300 Degrees Celsius / 1st lowest setting for around 15 minutes.
I've done this swap on a pre-facelift, D2S with AFS. The bracket that holds the lens needs cutting on two points to fit onto the black plastic carrier. On the same bracket the center hole, where the axel goes thru to the bearing needs to be enlarged. Good to have a rotary tool with cutting-disc handy, like the Dremel and some steel cutting skills.
Now i'm curious how the Evox-r 1.0 will improve the view at night..
Back on track now, awesome improvement in lightning. The old original mirrors inside were toast. Recommended retrofit !

No, you don't need the extension cable. The D1S bulb can be directly mounted into the Evox-r 2.0 projector.

How about prelift w212 lamp ? How much would it cost to replace projector ? No need for ballast as its xenons. Bought it with replaced o/s lamp which noticed when buying but failed to check full beams and that isn't working within replaced lamp. I suspect broken flap for full beam or it not being adaptive bi xenon lamp ? But How else a full beam is achieved if not bi xenon, as there isn't space for another bulb ? 🤔 scratching my head over this..

I want to ask something, My friend. Something on my mind! In the headlights of the Mercedes W211, W220 they separated the low and high beam. But as such, when the low beam moves up, it has to move up along with the high beam. Otherwise the high beam will be below the low beam. Does this happen individually electronically? So, there is an engine in the high beam as well! Please can you answer? Thanks

@@pfoxhound the original igniter (the part that connects to the bulb) doesn't fit anymore with the new projectors, because the bulb holder is a bit different. So for a good connection/fitment, yes, advise is to add the extension cables.

Hi m8. Amazing work again. I wana ask a question to you. I installed a projector to my w203 2001 c200. It was halojen h7. I bought projectors from online. Before installiation i tested projectors they was working good. After installiation i released that the light is bending from sides and the cut side is blur.
Could this problem stem from the crystal headlight glass? My headlight glasses not clear nor transparent. They are old school iced glasses.
Thanks :-). Yes, even with clear/transparent light output can be a bit changed by the front glass. End with the glass with lines in them, it will be even more noticeable, so yes, this can be the cause.

Hi, can you advise me on something, please? I replaced my 2005 Opel Vectra C AFL lenses with the newer Hella evo xr lenses. For some reason, the driver side, left side, keeps building up steam inside the headlight, no matter if its cold or warm outside. It does it randomly but more often when cold. I get to a point when steam turns to water drops. It already burned me 3 ballasts. No matter how many times headlight has been resealed, same issue. Would you know why this is happening? What would you advice me to do? I ran out of ideas, like using silica gel bags, leaving on headlight cover off and so on. Please, if you can help me, it would be great. Maybe you had this type of issue in the past. Thank you!
When it's only one side, there is not much more than that it's not sealed properly (although it is resealed a lot of times). This can be the front or in a place like the back cover or the original ventilation holes. Or it's not ventilating properly, but when leaving the cover off even doesn't help...there is not much more to check. i did this to my rx8's headlight on the highbeams,but the positioning and angle of the light is not visible,night driving is hard seeing that the high beam projector doesn't focus on the road,is there any way to fix this?

I have a technical question..: I had recently bought a D2S Led light bulb..want to install it to replace my stock HID Xenon D1S bulb...is it possible or the wiring will not match with connector rather than the holder type of harness...as I had been to many forms ..confused that some w211 uses D2S and other use D1S apart from standard H7..can you please advice

What are the 2 silver modules on the bottom? One is a HID Ballast & the other??? My factory HID on my 2005 E55 AMG doesn't work. Igniter is good, bulb is good, so I'm thinking I need one of those two modules under the whole light @ 0:17

Did you had to bake the whole headlight to remove all the parts for retrofit?
I'm doing a retrofit on my 06 E350 from halogen to E55 bi-xenon projectors with Morimoto hid kit. I heard you have to remove all the possible parts from the headlight and bake it in the oven to loosen up the glue to remove the projectors? I don't see anything like that here.
Is there such an act or i can simply do the entire retrofit process without baking the thing? Baking the headlight just scares me a little...lol

Will the EVOX-R 2.0 fit the w211? I have the factory bi-xenon with afs.

raoul4one so you're saying you have a w211 and got the 2.0 projectors? Did they fit as is without modifying them?
The projectors are a little shorter than the original and the mounting for the shrouds are upside down. So won't fit easily. Do you have facelift or pre facelift headlights? I tried them today on the facelift but needs modification. Tomorrow I will open up a pre facelift and try it on there.
The mountingpoint of the lens to the mounting point of the shroud is 1 cm shorter. But the glass lens itself is longer making the total the same. It's just the shroud that will be 1cm deeper into the housing. But the silver shield between the shroud and the black frame won't properly fit making a little gap between shroud and the glass lens.
