It JUST occurred to me that Dimentio rips Luigi from the party because his super jump would absolutely shred him with him having two damagable hitboxes.
Thank you guys for the beautiful production value! That intro was sick and the layout is super cute and I feel like that adds a lot to the experience ❤
the overlay is absolutely stunning. i love how the background changes to fit the gameplay, it's such a good detail. the overlay itself, and the intro, too, are all just... amazing. the production value is insane, massive props for putting this together!
If this is how fast a Human Theory TAS can beat the game then I can't even imagine what an actual TAS completion would look like. Insane stuff as always Ghost and everyone else.
@@Divergentdoody this TAS only uses techniques that viable for a human to pull off. So it follows the same route as human any%, but it just optimises the shit out of it

This is so great! Love all the extra touches that went into it. I hope other communities will make human theory tas videos, they are really useful and interesting to see.
Finally finished this after watching it over the past week. These commentated TAS videos are always such a joy to watch. The editing and commentary were on point once again and i can't wait for the next videos! Keep it up
Congrats guys on passing the million views on any% history ! I love your vids, such a nice production both visually and in terms of actual content. I'd love for the audio mixing to be a little bit gentler to the ear, but damn I love this game and channel
The production value in this was insane from the first two minutes and onward. And it was communal commentary with much camaraderie and input from several different runners? This was a joy to watch and listen to :)
I've been watching paper Mario for so long and only just begun to play TTYD, but I have a very vague memory of watching a friend play this game as a kid. I love this community and everyone that participates in it
Honestly i do need to watch a PM 64 tas at some point, most of my knowledge of 64 comes from the standard speedrun. As for ttyd, thats the one i have almost memorized. Speaking of, cant wait for SPM to encounter the ttyd effect where english ends up significantly faster due to them 'fixing' some of the glitches.
I'm so glad I get to watch another of these videos, the production value feels good like the assets building is such a nice touch. The disclaimer is hella ugly tho lol
If you assume mario dies at when your sent to chapter 7 that means that he went to hell if you assume overthrere is heaven qnd underwhere mario just gets yeeted to the bottom of hell with luigi. Maybe Mario is just so devilishly quick?
I think we all just meme that it's hell because it's hilarious to say "Mario gets yeeted into hell in this game", but the Underwhere takes more cues from Greek mythology - in particular Asphodel Meadows where most souls (besides the exceptionally good or evil) or those who lived more passive/mediocre lives were said to go after death. It's interesting stuff. Still, that begs the question of how Mario failed to get into Elysium given all the kingdom-saving he's done over the years...
This is fucking amazing, more TASes should have this level of quality holy shit Please make the disclaimer easier to read next time though. It’s very hard on the eyes
i have a suggestion for whoever did the overlay for next time: during the final boss, change luigi’s icon in the character section into a super dimentio icon
The fact that this was done in just 3 months it sounded like is absolutely insane. Good luck on the 100% TAS! I kind of want to see how much the extra exp and Dashell change up the speedrun.
Is that a freaking leapster sound effect at the start? Also 9:18 From here, and every time the world gets drawn in, this is literally the intro from Fosters home for imaginary friends, which was actually still airing when this game came out.
i wanted to say thank you for the video and i dont mean to offend when i say that the difference in audio levels between the people in the call kind of ruined it for me
I was literally watching this yesterday on Twitch but my internet died, so I waited for Ghost to upload and I watched it Oh well *Now I just gotta do it again baby* Also: is it just me, or did Mario move much faster than in the previous TAS? Not that it truly matters but it’s weird seeing him move that fast
At first I was quite confused by the item pickup animations, it looked like the items were being dropped from the inventory in-game and landing on the floor instead of being kept, and I wondered if it was some weird duping bug
how can the best mashers in the community input the 2 button at 20-25 hz? that's like. NES Tetris rolling technique levels of speed, and that only works for short bursts, not sustained mashing. for sustained mashing i'm used to seeing even the best cap at 14-17 hz, so if the paper mario community knows a technique i haven't seen before, i'm interested to hear about it
@@rarebeeph1783 I use to mash ~ 14 a second at peak now a days i can hit 12 if I break my arms, but yeah the 1 and 2 buttons make it so we can hit a button moving the controller up and down, its more wiggling the controller than it is pressing the buttons
@@rarebeeph1783 I'm late and this might not be the technique runners use, but raking (like in Clone Hero) should give you a consistently high speed without straining too much, I was using it on World 6 a couple days ago.

Right as I was in the middle of watching the first one 💀

Love this, can't wait to see the fully optimized tas
Simply amazing. Well done
This was super fun watching it live, the easter eggs were hilarious too
The way the Koopa Striker's feet are aligned, they look more like a TTYD sprite than an SPM. It's subtle though.
The work that has gone into this TAS is incredible... a true work of art for the ages
