Helldivers 2 is easily my GOTY. I've put 425 hours into this game since launch and I can't recall another game I've put that much time into in less than a year.

@@SpeedyLex21 It's just a game that's made to be fun and enjoyed by the fans, even if it is a bit buggy and unpolished in some places. It feels like a game, not a product to be consumed like the majority of AAA games feel like nowadays. Indie to AA games is really where it's at nowadays.

The game also feels somewhat nostalgic to games I've played in my childhood. Like TFwfc+foc, Aliens Colonial Marines, AvP and Batman Arkam Origins Online. Litreally, just a game to pick up and have fun with.

it is a tragedy that this game wasnt even nominated for GOTY. if that doesnt tell you how useless the Game Awards are i dont know what will.

If it hadn't come out in the same year Black Myth: Wukong came out, it would have been. They couldn't release it next year either because of GTA. They should have released last year, or waited until 2026 to release it.

@@sourkoyoteMy dude .. they included a fkn dlc and balatro, a stupid mobile card game (just as dumb as including vampire survivors in any list. I have like 10 hours in vampire survivors and I couldn't even rate it because it's not an actual game, it's more of a time waster where it plays by itself).
Also wukong is such a broken gamenwith how many technical issues it has, literally playable only on PC. And even past those technical issues, I'd say it's an 8.5/10 at best..
This whole year is a mess for the awards. If FF7 rebirth doesn't win, I'm completely done with them. Last year is the last time I'm watching them live. If some other game wins, I'm not even gonna bother watching it at all, just the new game trailers. I'm still tilted about re4 remake not winning and from soft winning twice now for games that aren't even their best. Which is sad. Even Miyazaki is confused, not getting how sekiro would win and how elden ring is so beloved, just because it's open world.
Hopefully his next soulslike is more linear and more contained, with the quality being constant rather than having bad stuff for 90% of the game like elden ring
For the awards it did win, it was sweeping titles.
That ending was truly what it means to be a helldiver, bravo 👏
For those of us who’ve played since February, we know this is GOTY…we don’t need some BS nomination to validate what we’ve known all year.
The amount of pure FUN I’ve had playing this for the last 10 months is something I haven’t felt since Halo dropped.

I am old been playing games since atari. For the last couple years I have pretty much just collecting games until Helldivers 2. Been playing since like a week after launch. First game that made me want to make time to play. Even through all the BS nerfs. RUclips has made this game beyond good. I love getting galactic war updates and funny skits about chaos divers and shit. Definitely should have been game of the year.

My friend group still plays this a few times a week and nearly every weekend. Some of the super helldive missions can be legitimate bonding experiences 😂

The fact that helldivers wasn’t nominated for soundtrack of the year is diabolical that song entering the planet hits every time
This is the first game in recent years where i have enjoyed playing every day. Most games nowadays play like movies with long cinematic cutscenes and drawn-out parts that I'll never want to sit through/replay again. Helldivers 2 plays like Star Wars Battlefront 2 but without EA there to F everything up.

i got bored a month after release. you do the same thing over, and over, and over again. there is barely any variety in this game, its pathetic. gameplay is great but thats it

Can’t have games proving triple A titles wrong and be rewarded for it.
Mainly because of how many fumbles AH did, I mean how I play didn’t change much and that kinda shows how much they have done.
Wish people would understand that the game was a disaster at launch then when the masses caught wind of the game you couldn’t even get in cause of the player cap😂. Second they started nerfing stuff because they were upset we weren’t using other weapons that “they” thought were good… bots were op af. Y’all remember the creek? Remember when they got upset cause we didn’t want the mines so the kept pushing mo after mo for us to get it. Remember when everyone damn near stopped playing then they finally fixed the weapons. Good game but you can only dive and repeat so many times before it gets stale. It needs content. Way more content. Reason why other games did better cause they had depth and CONTENT😂. not trying to bash or upset anyone I’m a helldivers myself but this DID NOT deserve game of the year at all.
I sort of agree with most points but the game was not a disaster at launch. At least not on PS5. 2042 Is what I'd class a disaster and this was not on that level. @@Vader066
@@Vader066It certainly deserved to be nominated - very few games made the splash HD2 did this year, that massive population spike the first couple of months should be telling. And while HD2 has certainly had some issues, it definitely was not a disaster at launch.

This is one of the very FEW games that actually plays and has physics that feel like a modern game. I think what makes this game shine so much is it’s not just your typical ps3 style game with modern textures. Almost every single game that comes out now days has shitty animation based physics and honestly is just a reskinned ps3 era game

I play mostly bugs but the odd game on Bots always brings either immense thrill or utter tragedy. Superb stuff.
Nothing wrong with bugs but bots are the only time I've had literal heart-racing moments of sheer terror. Some of the most intense fun gameplay I've ever experienced.

@@dogemaester It's not a cover, it's one of the "full" soundtracks from the composer. I don't recall his name off the top of my head, but he's got the full OST on his channel. I'm sure you can find it by searching for Helldivers 2 OST or something like that!
Great vid, I’ve been playing Super Helldive for a bit, and the liberator penetrator is my go to against bots, good mag capacity and decent penetration against ‘em, pair that with a recoilless and you’re set!
We need another minimum 1 hr stream of this again with the team please!

Hah the greatest moments you have in this game are those last life mission saves where you somehow, against the odds and reason, manage to survive the hellstorm of las fire and dodge the horde of berserkers etc to get on the drop ship...with the samples😅👊🏼. Great content vid man - top work!

Love the anti-mat & jump pack combo. You can 1shot those pesky striders with a well placed anti-mat shot to the hip joint. And them hips don't lie
Once been rolling that, maybe swapping out the las cannon on cold planets. It's so good for getting into good firing positions - you don't get huge kill counts but the bots you do kill are the most problematic in a high level game - striders, devs, hulks, gunships.
This guy stream like 65 hours of stalker 2 and then played and edit helldivers... The dedication

Helldivers 2 has been insanely good since launch.
I enjoy fighting the bugs a lot, running and gunning and just dropping mags like a madman. However the bot front is literally my favorite shooter of all time at this point. Really excited for the Illuminate front whenever that opens up, or if its some kind of illuminate offshoot where they are humans like idolizing the illuminate or something like that.
It’s popular enough that some awesome folks put in a ton of effort and created a custom Helldivers game mode in Halo Infinite. That ought to count for something!

That was awesome to watch. I'm curious how this game would be for someone like me who only plays solo and have been unsure if this game is too intimidating for first timers. Looks fun though.
You start off slow with low level drops and get used to everything as you unlock more weapons and options. Playing with randoms usually works out too

Fairy tale creatures."(He sighs and

THE NEXT DAY
There is a line of fairy tale creatures. The head of the guard
sits at a table paying people for bringing the fairy tale creatures
to him. There are cages all around. Some of the people in line
are Peter Pan, who is carrying Tinkerbell in a cage, Gipetto
who's carrying Pinocchio, and a farmer who is carrying the three
little pigs.
GUARD
All right. This one's full. Take it
away! Move it along. Come on! Get up!
