They’re called Lego sets, and yes they are up to date sets. Quite a bit more expensive than the states. The Ferrari is 450 here, and 750 in your video.
Is the video slowed down? I had to put to 1.5 speed and then the voice and everything felt more normal. And when switching back to 1.0 speed, speaking felt suuper slow..
I recently moved to Russia, and was a fairly avid Lego collector back in Canada when I lived there. While I have found the selection in Russia to be quite good, the prices here are about twice the Canadian price for the same sets. That Titanic set for example is only $750 in Canada, but was listed at $1300 USD in the Russian stores. Clearly there is a middle man taking a big cut in the importing of the sets here.
Russell obviously went into a very expensive store where the margin is very high. In the OZON online store, the exact same Titanic set from Lego costs about $600-700.
@@alex-hk5wq That's encouraging, however I was also quoting the most expensive option in Canada, at the official Lego store. I also assume there would be cheaper options within Canada too, such as Amazon.
@@WoozyPolarBear Well, you also need to understand that Russell went to a shopping center in the very center of Moscow, where prices are insanely high, I think for an ordinary resident of Moscow this is an exorbitant price, I am sure that Lego was very expensive in this store even before the sanctions. There are Detsky Mir stores where prices for Lego are already lower, but there is less choice, but, as I said, an excellent choice and a low price on trading platforms on the Internet. So you can buy Lego in Russia at different prices :)

Well I would say it proves that the sanctions are there, they just do not work as intended. The almost fully removal of the LEGO brand is most likely done in cooperation with LEGO's Russian partners/importer/distributor. LEGO still want to sell in Russia, so they try to make it look like you can't get LEGO in Russia by removing the branding, and the importing is done third party's countries.

Russell, great video! Thank you so much! Qiestion. Who is the owner of this shopping center now i wonder? Thank you!
Salaris, my local mall is owned by a Russian company. As for the Children's Mall, i don't know who owns it. I am sure its local as well.
Mold King sounds like a Batman villain :D
I've being on that famous street, it's absolutely gorgeous and the people are very civil and beautifully dressed. I miss Moscow and Russia dearly.
Amazing lego shop, please share and do more children's stores and lego shops. My wife is visiting soon with our little ones and I want her to take them here.
Is this the biggest Lego store in the world? It's absolutely incredible. Yes please go to Brickstar
FYI there are genuine Lego competitors out there, fascinating to see in the same shop
I wouldn't say its the biggest lego store in the world. Perhaps for Russia its the largest collection of stock. The Childrens mall is very impressive inside. Purely made for kids.
Hi Russell
Can you do a vid on the cinemas of Moscow so we can see what they are playing
Also if we can see inside the big screens of the oldest cinemas to see the style -art deco perhaps when no films are playing .
Any modern new multiplexes would be interesting .
I’ve heard that an exhibitor called Karo might be the biggest operator
Now we're waiting for "Paddington 3"🐻in 11.29.
Didnt they have that really cool lego store in moscow with the cosmonaut and the space dog?
Hmmm, I am not sure of that store? I don't know of on with that display.
Of course you can buy Lego in russsia. It just costs 10 percent more today than 2 weeks ago. 107.81 rr -1 usd.
The main point is that despite every brand saying they are leaving Russia, products are still on the shelves and still for sale.

Super !!!
In June 2021, the LEGO ART 31203 World Map was the biggest LEGO set ever released. It contains 11695 pieces (the most in LEGO art sets), enabling you and your children to create a significant and creative representation of the world map.
Wow, much bigger than the Titanic set them. Thanks.
So I live in the U.K and if a lone man walked into a shop specifically designed for kids and started filming then the security guard is gonna have a serious word with you mate Did have to get permission or anything before filming?
As he said before, filming in Russia in public places is allowed and unrestricted.
@@jimbotron70 Transparency in Russia is very valued. What goes on it public is free to be documented. Yes, that's right, real freedom in Russia...not so much in the UK I guess.

LEGO in Russia is unbelievable. I wonder if their youngest familiar with or love to play the Minecraft as well.
The games on phones they do. I see kids on public transport playing it all the time. I am sure in that first store there would be a Minecraft section if i looked closely.
I love that toy store Russell, it's so cool! I was wondering if you can find Barbie in Moscow? That might make an interesting vlog. Thanks Russell! A new subscriber from Indianapolis.
Thanks for this video report. Will encourage you to exercise frequently and regularly. Your labored breathing is very apparent from just mall walking. I hope for your health and your continued video blogging.
Thanks for the kind words and caring. Keep in mind how cold it is in Russia. Everyone is short of breath from time to time. Also when the camera is on and your walking and talking breathing is highlighted more. Especially with the microphones I use.
Dietski Mir's construction bricks centre has not only expensive Lego, but also several Chinese Brands which charge much less.
They have a lot of different brands in the store now. I think the "world of bricks" name works well.
Its the fact that some patents expired so competition will hurt Lego
Will be a sad christmas for russia this year. Nearly 800.000 ork dads are dead now. Numbers rising fast thanks to Putin.

the lego store in NYC in Rockefeller Center is busier during the summer than this store seems to be during the holiday shopping season
Compared to Toys “R” Us in America but in Russia they have a different version of Toys “R” Us so it’s like almost like Toys “R” Us version of Russian
In your local toy shop there was Lego branding on display, at the beginning of the Lego section on a drop down banner on the side.
Thanks, perhaps I missed seeing it.
Amazing! Russia is just like Cuba before Castro or after Castro. $ is worth so much in rubels (1$=108 rubels), alcohol is cheap (for foreigners not Russians) and not only alcohol is cheap in Russia. Incredible country to exploit if you are foreigner, to have fun, to make videos. ❤ Passport Bros go there 😇.
At the next metro station in another shopping center there is a LEGO museum and on the next street there is a museum of Soviet slot machines. lol.))
The slot machine museum I know about. I didn't make a video, as i didn't grow up here in Moscow. So i wouldn't know the games too well. As for the Lego Museum, i am going to see where it is, and try to visit.
In terms of color, the fake kislux here looks more colorful, clear and clean! Anyway, I can't tell the difference, maybe I'm too stupid and will never buy it! Haha

That you have to ask that question says it all.
Exactly. It keeps coming up in news stories and social media posts.
There actually is some branding on the banner near the Lego Wall!
to continue the "children" topic, please make a video about a Castle of childhood kindergarten and more about Совхоз имени Ленина Грудинина, thank you

The lunar lander in Canada is 299$ Canadian. About $250 American so Russian prices are almost double
Lego is horribly expensive in Russia.
You know anyone in Kommunarka a southern suburb that’s going thru black out and lost hot water?
Russel doesn’t want to show that side of things. A massive swathe of the capital without heating or electricity, with temperatures below zero. But yeah the Lego shop is pretty. Why not show the other side too? I wonder.
@Tom5555 I thought it was just Kommunarka that lost some amenities in apartments
Yes, it’s a big area.
I see the Ruble fell 1.4pc today, meaning a dollar buys 105.5 roubles, wow that will be great for your exports (What Exports :-) however it is going to be pretty miserable for all the western goods you folks love to buy.
❤
Thanks.
In us we call them lego “sets”
Shouldve given the prices. Actually any store.
The supply chain is a big factor in the pricing now. How it gets to Russia, and through which route it takes.
@@alex-hk5wqI can go to the most expensive shopping centre in Sydney (one of the most expensive cities in the world) and the Lego technic Ferrari is $580 at Myer Lego section. The one shown here in Russia is over $1000.
Never really interested in Lego when I was young, I loved Meccano.
Is there some myth that you can't get Lego in Russia?
It's all down to the silly prices they pay, double the west but only 1/4 the wages.

@barhu.a.7419 Кузнецкий мост.
@@TravellingwithRussell
Actually, the correct word is "most" (bridge). The street "Kuznetsky Most" is so called because once there was a real bridge over the Neglinka river. But at the beginning of the 19th century the river was enclosed in an underground collector. The street level rose above the bridge and it was filled with soil, the space around it was built up with houses....
That lego technic Ferrari SP3 currently in Myer in Australia $580, this one in Russia over $1000aud!!
Australians earn way more than Russians.
I am sure the average salary of the person wanting the Ferrari is higher in Australia as well. I know my parents would never pay that kind of price for a model. I was lucky to get the $10 or $20 ones.
I could see the Jumpman logo (Jordan Brand from Nike) hanging up inside the shopping mall behind you.
However, there are no Nike stores in Russia since Nike had already left the country.
All the Nike shoes are in multi brand stores now. Rather than company stores. The brand is more than available.
You are wearing Kathmandu winter jacket. Have you been to Nepal ?
No. It's a clothing brands from Australia.
I love yr video’s man, but ehm, ..lego? Who cares about Lego?! Why would you even care if that’s in Russia. Of course it is! But remember Danes are hypocrites. LOL. Buy second hand if you can’t find the brand.
ALO ! Lego ?.. NOW you can get nock off Lego .. and if they are not better .. then they are the same quality !! Only like 5 time cheaper..
I think worldwide you have always been able to get Chinese made Lego its nothing new.
@TravellingwithRussell I know.. before it was not good quality.. now it is ..
Sou you just pay for Lego name.. If Russians care about that.. then they overpay products.. just like we in Norway.. :-)
Tanks for videos ! Real rapporter you are !!

The almost fully removal of the LEGO brand is most likely done in cooperation with LEGO's Russian partners/importer/distributor.
LEGO still want to sell in Russia, so they try to make it look like you can't get LEGO in Russia by removing the branding, and the importing is done third party's countries.
