When it comes to tranquil surroundings, it doesn’t get much better than the Golden Sun Resort & Spa. Located in the laidback town of Kalamaki, with miles of sandy beach right on the doorstep, stay here and feel the stress just melt away.
If peace and quiet is top of your agenda, you’ll enjoy it here. The beach is a protected habitat for Loggerhead turtles to lay their eggs, so it's a well-kept and chilled spot. Have a relaxed swim in the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea or enjoy a picnic on the powder-soft sand. There’s plenty of R&R to be had back at the hotel, too. Indulge in a massage or treatment at the on-site spa or work on your tan by the pool. On top of that, each room comes with its own private pool or jacuzzi, so you won’t have to wander far for a morning dip.
Breakfast and dinner are served à la carte in the hotel restaurant, and the pool bar is open from early until late serving drinks and snacks. The centre of town is about 5 minutes’ walk away, where you’ll find cosy tavernas and restaurants serving up authentic Greek fare. If you’re lucky you might even get the full Greek experience - complete with a traditional fire dance and a shot of ouzo.
