    I bought a Flowbee 15 years ago and never used it. I whipped it out this week and I couldn't believe how well it worked. I used to pay $20 for a 15 minute haircut and had to get an appointment because they won't do walk ins. I think I'll cut my own hair forever going forward. By the way, I never thought about stacking the attachments as I didn't read the instructions. You did a great job explaining everything. You were even entertaining. Great job!

      I'm glad to hear you pulled it out after that long and it worked just fine. I started just before Covid hit and it really was beneficial during Covid. My two sons even appreciated it and they care what they look like! Cuts in this area are about $25 with the tip. I still chuckle at the money I'm saving and no one can tell the difference. Thanks for the nice comment, Glen. -Tom

    With the coronavirus scare, the Flowbee might see an increase in sales in the future. In addition to the money you save, you don't have to waste half to three quarters of a day driving to a barber shop and sometimes having to wait reading a magazine till the barber can cut your hair. I've had a Flowbee for about two years, love it. Only complaint I have is I did not discover it sooner.

    Man, finding the right barber for me has been a constant struggle. The guy I went to for 10 years had hung it up when he was diagnosed with colon cancer. $10 plus tip. Struggled for years until I found a older lady barber locally who charged $7 per sit. I'd always give her $10 and was back every 2-3 weeks. She got into a serious car accident and had to retire.
    I tried the $35 trendy cooly shop who didn't do much better than the $7 cut. Hence, I haven't cut my hair since before Christmas. Wearing hats. This Flowbie might just be the solution. Good info here Tom. Thanks.

    I bought the FLOWBEE before the pandemic. The pandemic pushed me to used it instead of going into a crowded barbershop. I have been cutting my hair since then. Besides the feeling of independence and money saving I really am able to give myself a haircut I like. I was also able to give the men in my COVID bubble haircuts. Who would have thought that a haircut would create such community. Pandemics seem to haunt our horizon but with the FLOWBEE we can face them we’ll groomed and if we’re really smart build our circle of friends instead of avoiding them.

    I was an early adopter and got one at Costco when they first came out. I'd been doing an OK job with a "Hair Wiz".
    I told several people about it and all bought one and said it gave the best Haircut they'd ever had.
    Perfectly repeatable every time.
    Add interest to the money you've saved and it becomes a substantial amount of dough.
    Hey! they used them on the Space Shuttle! Can be used to trim your dog.
    During the current Virus thing used Flow-Bees are going for about $200 + shipping
    PS I also save money by getting my clothes and misc stuff at thrift stores and swap meets. so I'm a cheapskate.

    • @evolutionaryTom
      @evolutionaryTom  9 месяцев назад

      Mary, Each of the attachments has a little plastic clip at the top of them, about in the middle of the top rim of the attachment. That allows it to snap into the bottom of the next attachment. Squeeze the middle of the bottom attachment right were it joins the next attachment. Do that in the middle where it's most flexible and on both sides at once. Then try and pull them apart. After years of use mine are still tough sometimes. The longer spacers are easier because they are more flexible. The short ones can really be tough. Hope this helps. -Tom

    • @evolutionaryTom
      @evolutionaryTom  6 месяцев назад +1

      Great question, Ramon. You don't have to oil each blade. Once you turn it on after you put a couple drops of oil on it, the action of the blades and the heat it generates will disperse the oil over all the blades. I put a few drop on it and then let it run for about 30 seconds before I start my cut. I also make sure I don't put the oil on the same two blades each time I apply oil. Hope that helps. -Tom

    Why are people trying so hard to put barbers out of business?

    • @evolutionaryTom
      @evolutionaryTom  11 месяцев назад

      That's an excellent question. My primary issue was that a cut as simple as mine should not cost that much. The value wasn't there for me at $25. Kind of like people who don't like the restaurant prices so they cook at home more often. They aren't trying to put the restaurants out of business. And for many, according to the comments I get, it was the shutdown of barber shops during the pandemic. There was just no where to go and get it cut. Then, once you get used to doing it yourself, it's a no brainer. I miss going to the barber shop. I love the smell of the place and I love a straight razor on the back of the neck and around the ears, but I just can't pay that much every 2 weeks or so to keep it fresh. Again, great question. -Thanks, Tom
