    I get all my denim tapered and hemmed to where I have a no break to partial break depending on my foot wear. I never really thought about how that looks more formal that stacked and/or cuffed denim. That was a great point you brought up!

    I always love your reviews, spot on and informative. I live in Bournemouth and am going up to Rivet and Hide next week for some new Flat Heads, I'll check out the Iron Hearts too although I think they could be a bit too heavy for me, 16 - 18oz is about my limit! Love the footage of a craftsman at work turning those up.

    Your video made me to buy this exact jeans and I loved it. In my 35 years I never had a selvedge jeans and after this I am not going back. I wish to see the two year review.

    Just ordered the IH-666-XHS 25oz slim straight pair. Can’t wait! Might need another light weight pair for the summer months.

    I bought some Pure Blue jeans from Rivet & Hide recently. Really good company to deal with . I enjoyed your film of the hem line being lifted as my purchase was online and I never got to see how it was done. Cheers !

    I love that the belt goes through the leather patch. I recently got a pair of
    666 14oz and the belt sits on top of the patch. As it’s fixed down on all sides. But I do love then and a big thanks to your self as I hadn’t herd of iron Heart before as I’m very new to RawDenim.

    Have you ever tried blackhorse lane denim jeans? They are my absolute favorites: They are modern cuts and great attention to detail. Best jeans I’ve ever tried and I’ve been through the usual selvedge brands!

    Great review. I have the 888S in the 21 oz. denim and I love them. Did you happen to catch what shirt that R&H employee was wearing? It was beautiful.

    • @DevonReviewer
      @DevonReviewer  6 лет назад

      No, I didn't, and I didn't pick up on the fantastic detailing on the shirt until I was editing, otherwise I probably would have asked; looks superb doesn't it! Give them a call I am sure they will let you know what it is!

    If you want a amazing pair of handmade boots to go with those good looking quality jeans I recommend a American company called Nicks custom boots, OR Franks custom boots, I have Two pairs of nicks boots, and not only is their ach support a lifesaver for your back and body posture, but they also wear for YEARS and look so good the more you wear them, the ware time between the boots and the iron hearts I have have been amazingly similar (except the actual boot regardless of what it fades into over time will last YEARS before you even need to resole them or rebuild them (which they also do at those two custom boot shops, they service your boot whenever you want to send them back to them to be fixed up) you can get any style with any kind of leather, between 7.5-8 oz, They are some of the best boots in the world and I strongly recommend them as a perfect addition to iron heart denim. I have both and im in love.

      how are your boots now?

    • @Skellanuts
      @Skellanuts 3 года назад +2

      @@RizetoPower almost no ware, they are bomb proof. Still haven’t needed a resole let alone a rebuild. The heal has a SLIGHT wear pattern. However that’s nothing in comparison to 2-3 years of weekly/daily use at my job and Bush rafting in the woods.

    It’s my goal to work my way through the selvedge up to iron hearts.

    • @DevonReviewer
      @DevonReviewer  6 лет назад +3

      The pricing on selvedge is strange.
      There are a few worthy $100 / £100 offerings that I would recommend. The Levi's 511 Selvedge (Eternal Day, or I think now called Rigid Urn!?) are excellent value.... Unbranded are also well respected, especially their 21oz, but i found the rise to low on the UB155 I had.
      Once you start investing a bit more pricing seem to leap right up to $250 / £250, with not much in between.... at this stage, my current opinion is just go for IH.... they make a stunning denim...

    • @caseyhassett2545
      @caseyhassett2545 6 лет назад +1

      DevonReviewer absolutely. That’s where I started, I just bought a pair of samurais, leaving me with Baldwin’s, unbranded, naked and famous, Samurais. I think iron hearts will be next.

    This may be a dumb question, but, does it make sense to undo the factory hem before cutting the piece off? I mean, it’s getting cut off anyway right?

    I got 634, 666, 777, 888 pairs of IH Jean's. Never had them hemmed. Showing the selvedge is the heart of vintage Jean's. I believe.

    • @wafieali
      @wafieali 5 лет назад

      My opinion, perhaps the jeans too long, so it will looks quite improper when to wear as smart casual. Just a little inch hemmed will make it looks nice, & still great to be cuffed then.

    Hi, great review. I got a pair in size 30 and I find the thighs to be a bit tight at 11.2". Do you find yours tight?

    • @DevonReviewer
      @DevonReviewer  4 года назад

      These are a slim leg, but a good fit for me, I would not go much tighter (especially with such heavy denim) but would like a little more taper to the cuff.

    why did you choose to buy a new pair when there was obviously so much life back in your other pair? they're even in the same ball park with being heavy weight. not a judgement just an honest question

  • @booster330

    G'day..Did you try on the size 33 and if you did were they too big? Reckon im around the same size as you .

    • @DevonReviewer
      @DevonReviewer  6 лет назад

      Hi Brian, I a 5'10 and weight around 74kg, I am coming to the conclusion that a waist measuring just below 34 (real measurement not tag size) is whats right for me. A particularly high rise may need a slightly more generous cut.
      I didnt try on the 33 and having broken these in now I think that would definitely have been too large, I think I could have gone down to the 32 tag on these but probably at the sacrifice of comfort and more likely blowouts later.
      Dont forget to check out the sizing charts for each IH model as they do vary... the 666 Ducks I have just picked up at completely different on the waist sizing a 34 tag measuring up at 33.5!

    • @booster330
      @booster330 6 лет назад

      Thanks for the reply. Tag size 32 measures 86.4cm/34 inches cm on the Iron Heart website chart and thats very large so its a little confusing. They have slightly different measurements on Rivit & Hide so it was probably best to talk to someone who owns a pair!

      Hi, I see what you mean, I have actually measured these myself and after a bit of wear the waist was around 34. Not sure why R&H and IH differ by an inch on the waist measurements for the same model. But if you seek a "real" 34 my observation would be that a 32 tag will do the trick either straight away or within a few wears.... also if you buy direct from IH you can ask for them to pick a more generous 32 as there are small variations in each due to the manual construction (I am sure R&H would do the same for you too if they have enough stock).
