Love the spike hunting. And I totally agree, don't like numbers. Give them names. Exciting times ahead with all those spikes! Looking forward to the haul video from Lansbergen .😉
Wow...exiting time in your grow room, lovely to see all your Phal.orchid with new spikes for this season. It should be fantastic show of 🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼 on the "Phalaenopsis wall "😁. My own collection of 13 Phals has 6 🌱in spike at the moment.....always a great fun to see them with new roots or 🍃 or brand new spike developing 😍. Enjoy your day, Eelke and Thank you for sharing 🌺. Take care. 🤗
Absolutely, it makes me very excited! I think there will be a few more that will start spiking, but they are a bit later… Maby you will have a few more as well, who knows. It is always fun to have some Phals blooming!
Yes, I think it is the weather that is different this year than last year. Funny how much influence has even though I do grow them in a green house. Thank you so much for watching and your gift! Highly appreciated :D
@@TheOrchidSaGaI’ve been transitioning into pumice. So far, so good but I’m wondering if you change anything about the reservoir. I know you reduce fertilizer but do you reduce the amount of water or let the pumice dry for a while?
EJ The Spike Hunter. I love it. Phals are my favorite genus, and I don't think I could ever give them numbers instead of names. 😊. I'm so excited to see them in bloom. A few of mine are in spike now. I live in the northeast of the United States, and our weather is up and down. Today, it's about 65 degrees, and I'm sure the phals are a bit confused.
LOL, I love making these video’s, it is so much fun! … And indeed the weather plays a big part in how the react, what they will do. I hope yours will start spiking soon too. I love Phals too. I really look forward to the blooms!
I counted, and I have 24 phals. Most are mini phals because I don't have much room. But almost all of them are in spike! It's my favorite thing about this time of year! I enjoyed the video. Thank you!
Hi EJ, I live in Amsterdam and I have 4 phals in my apartment. I’m a beginner and I have killed many phals before, but after watching enough orchid videos, 2 of my phals are in spike! I think part of it may be due to the nice autumn light we had in October. 3 of my phals are rescued orchids from the kringloopwinkel, so I don’t even know which color the flowers are going to be because I have never seen them in bloom before. I’m looking forward to seeing your wall in bloom in 2025!
I am glad they do well for you! I do have a few from secondhand shops too! So fun not knowing how the blooms look like. I must say must times they where white :P … It is also fun to see how they become strong, healthy plants again. Happy growing and thank you for watching! :D
Beautiful collection..nice to see the Noid and species. Yes my phals are spiking about 6 weeks early, Ontario 🇨🇦 . We are having a warmer than usual Autumn. The weather has just begun to drop at night ( closer to freezing ) Two of my Phals that im most excited about are my Bronze maiden (1 spike ) and my Schillariana 2 spikes that are 18 inches long. 😊
I think indeed it was a bit warmer this time of year… And funny I do have just the other way around. My Bronze maiden does have two spikes and the Schillariana has one. But not 18 inch long yet. Maybe this year? A spike that long must be such a good show! :D
......looking great EJ.....so many spikes ....should be a spectacular bloom.
Thank you Rick! I am looking forward to the blooms to come. Such a great time of year!
Oh wow, so exciting, looking forward to the moment they bloom
It is indeed, and me too! Thank you so much Fernanda!

They really deserve a proper name! … :D And yes, it is my upcoming video! :D We had so much fun!

Hey EJ 👋 yes! I love spike hunting! 😂We both have so many its alot of spikes!😂
And lots of fun! :D … I always hope that at least half will bloom LOL.. It would be a bit sad if just a few bloom on a wall with so many Phals....
Great tour, EJ. I’m in southern US and our chill is just starting so I think my spiking will be later.

@LizE2654 not for the Phals. The amount of water is the same. For the warmer growers like Cattleya en Dendrobium Phals I reduce the amount of water.
@ but there’s still a reservoir all the time? Also, just to confirm, I think you’ve said you don’t flush?

Yes, but we will save the best for last! :P It will be the grand finale. :P
Thanks!
