According to the book Tom Baker was in full gear too - they could not find a single shop-window dispaying TV-sets set on Doctor Who, so he looked specifically for a home with children in it: bicycles on the lawn ment they were still up and so he asked if he might have a go on the show. The boys noticed the new visitor, sitting in Daddy's chair, but were too immersed in the show to give him much bother (only in the "boring bits", where the Doctor was not seen on screen, they checked on him - no videos and no reruns, you had to be very careful not to miss anything). Merch was out, so the team had to revisit the house a short time later to give all the kids something to remenber the Doctor's visit - drawing the attention of the press. And the boys could proove to their classmates that the encounter with the Doctor really had happened

Honestly the bit about the 8th doctor drinking lemonade should absolutely be canon and is actually very smart, because the doctor obviously always had that part inside him, he just did a very good job to hide it

That novel is an excellent adaptation of the episode. Confusing as heck to read (it's written from the Doctor's POV, but, it is never specified which Doctor which gets particularly confusing once the Doctors converge, plus the chapter numbers are random and chapter 7 is 'missing') but there are so many little things there.
For example; the Cushing Movies exist as movies in universe, and while all the incantations were present for the freezing Gallifrey scene, none of them only came once, there were dozens of each of them, flying around saving people before the freeze, which is why so many Daleks survived the Time War; a bunch of them ran off when an army of The Doctor showed up!

I think it makes sense for there to be some kind of Doctor Who convention in-universe, since there's canonically a group of people who know the Doctor exists and have been obsessively trying to track him throughout history. Perhaps in the Torchwood universe their version of the Doctor Who convention is more of a scholarly meeting where people compare research notes.

How about a companions' list, showcasing the companions who grew and evolved quite a bit after joining the Doctor. First two I can think of are Jo Grant and Rory Williams. Jo was something of a dingbat at first, but she was strong-willed (even the Master had to admit that, when he tried to mesmerize her) and loyal. Rory went from an unsure nurse to a bad-ass Roman centurion, husband and father!

The self-same Day of the Doctor novelisation also establishes that the Peter Cushing movies exist in the Doctor Who universe (based on stories of the 'real' Doctor) - and the Doctor loves them - so maybe Cardiff was doing an exhibition about them in-universe.

My husband and I took a trip especially to Cardiff before the Doctor Who experience closed, maybe weeks before. We got what tickets we could, and scheduled our trip from there. I do not regret it one bit. It was one of the best experiences I have had, besides a talking alien to me in 1980 Universal Studios tour of Battle Star Galactica, that part of the tram tour no longer exits. I think the guy was bored and when I looked left he just talked to me. Freaked me out, but he said do not worry. I missed the action going on being fascinated by this guy.

Great video Who Culture! In the series 3 episode The Lazarus Experiment there's a scene near the end of the episode where lazarus falls from the bell tower in the cathedral and finally dies. During the scene the tenth doctor closes lazarus' eyes and he goes from looking young to looking old again. They filmed david tennant closing his eyes first in the cathedral, but they had to film it again with lazarus in his old man prosthetics. So to save going back to the cathedral they found some stone flooring elsewhere that looked similar to the stone flooring in the cathedral. 😊😊

Of course her dad was there, he'd stopped off at home on the way to the wedding and of course the TARDIS took her there, it took her home & was actually accurate because the Doctor wasn't driving at the time.

"The Day of the Doctor" should have been Paul McGann playing The Doctor during the war. It definately could have started with the line from "The Night of the Doctor": "I'm a Doctor, but probably not the one you're expecting", but it should have brought Paul McGann back to make the terrible choice of how to end the time war and ended with his regeneration to Christopher Eccleston.

#7: Catherine Tate is a comedian and obviously nowhere near as dim as (the early) Donna. She was on a show where raising laughs was mostly the point. She'd already seen how the production of Doctor Who worked. Do you *really* think that she genuinely thought that the myriad Sontaran extras were all (what would have been hugely expensive) props?
Spoiler: that was rhetorical and - no - I don't think you *do* think that, really. Because you are doing what she was: spinning a story to fit the narrative. In her case: make a joke; in yours: hmmm, not sure, on this occasion.
Edit: all that said and done, it was a fun video - keep up the good work!

@@christinewhoyt It’s not an opinion, though; they are well-known to be a bigot, and have been constantly lying about the events of the JW era in order to force them to “prove” their false claims (the same thing Donald Trump has always done).
As a general rule of thumb, if your point can only be evidenced by distorting the truth to the point that the actual truth has been lost, then you’re basically self-proving your point to be wrong because reinstating the original facts clearly disprove it.

Unless, of course, you live in the real world, where precisely nothing you have ever said in your account’s history has any basis whatsoever in true facts.
