  • "This is a very fond fly of mine. I remember catching my second steelhead ever on one of these. A good friend that guided on the Clearwater showed me how to tie them and I still have a great assortment of them in my box. There are tons of different variations on this fly; purple, blues, black, red, pink and so on. Plus, this fly has great movement and bling factor.
    This fly is more of a late-season sink tip fly. However, one could swing this fly early too for summer-run fish. I really love how the palmered marabou acts in the water, it takes very little for it to move and undulate. I have even crossed this fly over for smallmouth bass is some of our lakes with success and I imagine that a big rainbow or cutthroat will eat in in our local rivers. This fly really screams winter steelhead."
