    That's the most incredible Duster I have ever seen! Exceedingly cool look and stance.. The real mopar parts, and professional integration techniques exceed the actual Detroit process. The result is a much better car from the tires up ! What an awesome car! Shows us what the Duster could have been,...and maybe more can become! Makes we want to go out hunting for that body style!

      @@ScottieDTV ...my very first car was a 71 Duster 340 4 speed. I was almost 16 when I bought in 1976, my mom wouldn't let me drive it until I could pay the car insurance myself. It was a hell of car for a young man and I loved it!

    Man, what a nice car. I miss my Duster. Restored it back in the 90's and ended up selling it in 2001. Was moving from Alaska to the Carolina's. Shipping was just too much...Wife and a couple of kids happened and you know where all my disposable funds went. Now trying to find a good project Duster but people want too much money for rusted out junk. The search continues. Thanks for sharing this video. Love everything about the car. Only one problem if I owned it, I'd drive it too much...

      @jeffcraven7376 7 лет назад

      My first car was a '66 Malibu with manual everything, skip thru the years I inherited a '69, power everything, both drove better than modern cars. Now included is my monster '71 (340 Wedge) thru '76 body only '76 Duster attribute, and it's hard to handle, but I'm use to the good old days and respect the capabilities of an old Chrysler product muscle car, but I'm 60 y/o soon. For an everyday driver I've always preferred a Ford or Chevy, but for fun a Plymouth.

No 4 spd with a pistol grip shifter. Watched the video again and realized, it's his car, and it looks fabulous. Owner is very creative.

    Wow that is an awesome friggin car. I've never seen someone do a 6 barrel induction on a 340 Duster. They are so lightweight. That car must really haul ass with a 340/6. The AAR was my favorite Cuda. I had a 73 Duster 340-4 speed. It was the lower compression 340 but the 340 was still a screamer in 1972-73...especially in the ultra lightweight Duster/Demon. I loved that car. Maybe my favorite that I've ever owned. The 340 Duster/Demon was probably the fastest car you could still buy in 1972-73 other than a 73 Trans Am 455 Super Duty. Ford or Chevy didn't have anything as fast as a 340 Duster in 73

  • @mark006868
    @mark006868 9 лет назад +5

    I love the concept of this car but there are a few errors in the vid...He says that it's a "340 Six pack Motor that was a Trans Am Motor it's a 69 block"....so a "340 Six pack Motor" does not exist and never did.Plymouth offered a 340 Six Barrel intake and Dodge had the 340 Sixpak intake as a dear installed option or you could by it at your Chrysler dealer as part of the Scat Pack Pakage."Trans Am Motors" were only made and offered in the 1970 AAR Cuda and Challenger T/A's.The T/A motors were the only production triple carb 340's ever made.They had special TA blocks that were thicker and special thicker crankshaft caps that could accept four bolt mains as well as special heads with off set adjustable rockers that permitted porting the heads without going into the water jackets.....so in essence....his motor is a reg 69 340 with a Six Barrel intake....and not a Trams am motor....

    • @CocoLobo_
      @CocoLobo_ 5 лет назад +1

      I was confused with his block in there also. Thanks for clearing that up.

    • @70stunes71
      @70stunes71 5 лет назад +1

      FACT 😀 I see it in a lot of these videos, I owned and still own Mopars and especially six pack cars big block and small block since the 1970s. A lot of people do not know what they are talking about with these engines. Just like you stated the TA engine only came in the factory six pack cars and had Provisions for the 4 bolt Main, but none of them had it from the factory. The blocks were stamped accordingly to annotate a Trans Am block and of course they are rare enough today to come across and quite pricey. I am definitely all about accuracy when people speak of the cars I have owned for over four decades and more. Disinformation is no good to the sport, and to like you have seen, I have seen so many Mis statements concerning Mopar cars and engines

    I worship this guy. That is the most beautiful Duster, I mean DUSTARR. I went to high school with a guy that had a mother that just loved to spoil her son. She bought him a Duster, before that a 67 Camaro and before that a Triumph TR7. Problem was he wouldn't hold it to the floor on none of them. He was a wuss. He let me drive the Duster once and I slammed it in low and stomped it to the floor. He was screaming at me to let up, that I was going to blow the motor..LOL

    I've got a mishmash '71 thru '76 Duster; the best of everything awaiting some undetermined amount of bodywork and then total repainting. The car's worth it because it'll outrun anything also street legal. My poor old drag car, mechanically reborn .

    I owned a couple 72s with shark tooth grille. This car would look better without the front spoiler and road lamps. But very kewl!

      72s didn't come with the shark's grill only a 71 did, but it was common to swap the grill out because the 71 was the best looking one by far.

      @@jameshardin1100 ...I'm pretty sure the 1972 Duster never came off the production line with the Shark's grill. But like I said it was common to swap them out because it was the best looking grill and was a direct replacement.

      ScottieDTV I had a 1972 340 that look almost like yours , Like the fool I was back in 1976 I didn,t take any picture of her. I,ve told people that I believe in Herbie 'love bug" because my 340 had a mind of her own , any time a SS 396 pull up beside her , she would run wild. I was hoping one day to build me another 340 ,but I,ll never get a chance because of my health issues ,no money or time now. Hoping to run across some one with a 340 that would let me sit behind the wheel and let me go up the road and back , Thanks for your posting your car you made me a happy man, God bless

    Mine still has the riveted rear spoiler you mentioned, however I have no intentions of changing it to look like yours. You have done this to yours and that's okay but to say they look horrible on other cars? I'm not going to judge other cars like that especially since I own one with that original spoiler. The car looks awesome but I would ditch the front fog lights. They don't look right on there to me although I know that's why you put them on there because you are with the AAR theme. My car is set up for the 426 Hemi because it is a former drag car. However I am building a 440 six pack for my Duster. No matter how you decide to build your car, there will always be people that would have done something different. It's best not to say something looks terrible and that's why you changed it. Cars back in that time frame were rough fitting panels from the factory, and had spoilers of many different types on the various Automotive manufacturers. Most of the paint that came out of the factory back in the day had a certain amount of orange peel look to it. I see a lot of people and in fact most people doing basecoat and clearcoat jobs on their cars which makes them look perfectly smooth and beautiful. But this is not how they looked out of the factory LOL. Personal choice being what it is this particular duster with the AAR theme is a beautiful rendition of what Chrysler Corporation really should have manufactured. But I don't think they wanted the little small block in the duster with the six pack running down the Hemi cars at the strip, because it most certainly would have done it. Congratulations on building an amazing and gorgeous Duster
