Maybe you need to add more stitch density to hide the foam? Some of the cheap foams do not cut so well so try and find some which are denser. Use coloured foam that matches you thread.
So I use a .14 density to get a clean cut on the foam. Using Poly thread allows me to heat the logo with a shrink wrap heater and tighten up the column and shrink any foam pieces that stick out. If you can get 40 shore density foam, that works best. Retail available foam is too soft and does not hold up to this much column density.
I usually have one tie-off stitch because the machines add a couple by default. Check the small stitches setting in Wilcom to make sure that they are not being removed. Also check your machine control panel because most have a filter setting on there as well.
Dean, I am trying to embroid my logo on a hat but Lids is not making a good job with it stating that the machine cannot stich a certain way. Can i send you an email with an idea i have that might get me a better embroidery? Thank you.
Dean, I did that and the bling toolbar is not there. How do you add the bling without the toolbar? I’m saving up to take the course, trying to stay out of debt 😊
At what speed did you run your machine at for an efficient sew on the hat? Been running into a lot of bird nesting issues with my design and trying to find a solution for a couple of days now
Hey Alan, I run 750. If you get bird nesting try slowing the machine down or reducing the density along with using a coloured foam that matches the thread colour. Let us all know how you get on.
@@DeanRoscoe and by density you mean the spacing under the stitch values right? I actually have it set at 0.27mm right now, and have tried slowing it down to about 550-500 and still get the same problem, especially around the curved parts on characters as well
@@lilestaban5642 what brand of machine? Try experimenting backing of the density (reducing the stitches). If that works then you need to use coloured foam.
@@DeanRoscoeBarudan machine. and how would you do that? is there a specific way to do that? and we use the same coloured foam as the thread every time we run
@@lilestaban5642 In Wilcom you adjust the stitch spacing or auto spacing value. Try opening up the spacing to what you would use on regular satin embroidery and see if you still get birds nesting. This will allow you to check if it is a density problem or machine/tension/foam issue. I am assuming you have already done the obvious stuff.. change needle, try a new cone of thread, adjust machine tension?
I now feel like I’m hounding you. I reset the toolbar and it is still not there. Is there something else I need to purchase? I have Wilcom Elements 3 Wilcom EmbroideryStudio 3.0, Wilcom Design Explorer 3.0.
Is Corel installed and registered? I would suggest contacting support at Wilcom America who will be able to assist. I am in the U.K which is a different territory.
@Dean Roscoe I purchased the barudan machine and the software from a person selling because they no longer used it. I contacted Wilcom and Barudan. We already have CorelDraw 8 not 6 so, the program that came with the Wilcom is outdated since it is an earlier version. Would I be able to get the CorelDraw 8 and Wilcom to work together or should I even bother.
Hi there, how did you resolve the problem of the foam that comes out everytime on the side of the embroidery? I can't get a clean result after removing the foam, so i need to "pull it in" manually or with a heater, what is your opinion?
You could probably use Hatch to make these shapes manually. Just make sure to remove the automatic underlay. I believe the collum or "block" tool is the same and then he's just using a single stitch to lay down the straight lines. The numbers of 2mm are stitch length in this program but it could be called stitch density in a different program. It's just how close the stitches are together. You can find that in the object properties area. I use Bernina software and can do what he does here but the names of things are a little different. Bernina software and Hatch are very similar. They are domestic or home-based software for the average user and as a result are more automated and have less manual controls than industrial or Professional software like Wilcom E2.

GOOD

Hello! How lines automatically mimics the graphic?
Do you have a video showing how you stitched this hat on the machine with the foam?
I didn't video it but here is a picture being stitched www.screencast.com/t/8XoYycdin

Thanks Jessie. Good luck with your embroidery.
I am learning Wilcom Embroidery Studio e3.0 but, I do not have the toolbar Bling...how do I get this toolbar?
Right click onto the empty gray space near your other toolbars, this will popup a window with a list of toolbars that you can enable/disable.
Dean, I did that and the bling toolbar is not there. How do you add the bling without the toolbar? I’m saving up to take the course, trying to stay out of debt 😊
@@DJGASAP Try resetting the toolbars back to the factory setting. Open the bin folder and double click a file called ResetProfile.BAT
I did this exact setting and it has foam peaking out! Any suggestions? I did use a heat gun and you can still see it peaking out
First, change your needle and make sure your machine tension is set correctly. If that doesn't help then increase your stitch density.

thank you, I went there and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it !!
@Colby Deandre glad I could help :D
Hi , do they use polyester top thread for a better finish?
No, rayon thread works better for me
I wish wilcom hatch wasnt so expensive god damnit
It's an investment because it makes you money.

I have foam poking out of my 3d embroidery even with satin stitch set to 0.12mm. Any advice?
Something strange going on there. Try to use a foam colour that matches your thread, also use a heat gun to shrink the foam that is poking out.
Is there an easier way to do this?
Pay someone to do it for you ;)
Can this be done in Hatch? If so, how?
Hatch is domestic embroidery software. I only use industrial Wilcom embroidery software.
