    No sane human being would use washers on these bolts, unacceptable to carry those uphill.
    Love these videos!

    Embrace the vibe I say. Whenever you qualify the weightweenie life I remember where you live and the rides you do and think, fair enough. Loved the little comments at the end lol, never heard the term aeroweenie before but like it a lot. The Nero Show will pick it up hopefully 🙂

    CHASER Road Bike Disc Brake 160 Disc on Aliexpress will pull up the brake adaptors. I have their cnc alloy brake adaptors (not the printed ones) and then Chaser centerlock adaptors which are the lightest at 15g a piece. These two upgrades plus 160mm Quaxar 6 bolt rotors (obviously not using 6 bolts, similar to Aishima rotors) had immense weight savings. Afaik, this is the lightest alloy (probably even against Carbon Fiber) setup available.
    16g~ total for F/R brake adaptors
    30g total for both centerlock adaptors
    141g for 160mm F/R rotors.
    187g, 196g with hardware to bolt brake adaptors to fork/frame (Ti bolts cut to length, threads need to be cleaned after too)

      bought the chaser for the front 160, but haven't installed yet, agree with your research =)

    You'd save a lot of weight switching to nylon bolts. They might even work once before snapping off 😂

    How about hope RX4+ calipers, they're light and need no adapters for 160mm rotors.

    • @slayerofgrams
      @slayerofgrams  2 месяца назад +2

      But the 160 rotor will offset the weight saving of the adapter ;)

      @@slayerofgrams Oh you're using 140mm, I think the new + calipers have also a 140mm version. But sure having shimano brakes do have their advantages.

    I’d rather of have stayed in my ignorance of the specialty titanium parts 😂.
    I first replaced rear caliper bolts with the same length ti ones, there were barely any threads I had to go for longer ones. Buy that upgrade twice 😔

    Absurd that manufacturers are still using all this hardware when thru-bolt mounts exist. Just 2 holes in the fork just like the frame mount, eliminating thresded inserts, adapter, and 2 bolts altogether

    I don't get why the adapter couldn't be made of plastic. Lots of machine parts are made from UHMW and other hard plastics.
