I won't lie but I teared up a bit when Ryan gave the kid some $$ to buy a card at his first show. Keep doing what you do man, the hobby needs more role models like yourself. Awesome content..
I love how Ryan introduces himself to people who know who he is but still says 'Hi I'm Ryan' as if his names been some well kept secret. Also, love how he walks over to kids, and gives great information about what they have and how they can get great cards.
Crazy how big trade night has become. When he handed that kid a hundo just cuz it was his first show...that was cool. So great for the hobby to give back. This man does it in spades.
Ryan what a great heart you have. In this day and age, it is so satisfying to see a young man show intelligence, communication, good will, wit and a sense of community. You make the hobby better, and we are all better for it. Good work certainly does pay off and you are a prime example of that. You deserve all the good things that have and will come to you. Makes us all proud.
Best RUclips content right here. I need to go to one of cardcollecter2’s trade night. I need an autograph and a picture. One of the best in the hobby, if not the best!
Never ceases to amaze me how mellow and genuine you are with the community at any event. You never rip people off and always let them know when they’re undervaluing things. Love the vids man.
only online will you see people hating on a special moment, i literally teared up seeing Ryan give the kid $100 to get a good card for his first show. $100 towards a card can go a long ways
Ryan the goat man, when Ryan gave the money to the kid was amazing. You have no clue how much that can change a kid’s experience at that place. Good stuff man. You will always be a legend in the community
The way these kids look up to u is so awesome and the way u treat all the kids really hits home with me. I’ve coached youth basketball for nearly 10 years and I do it cause I love seeing the kids have fun and learn the sport. Thank u Ryan
Job well done sir! You should be very proud of what you’ve accomplished with trade night. My first National was in 92 in Atlanta when I was 16 and I wish there was an experience like what you just put on. Keep up the great work!
I have to wonder what Ryan and that kid was talking about, right before Ryan gave him $100. If you notice, the video wasn't one clean take, but it was cut then resumed right at the point when Ryan gives him the money and says "go buy something nice". Because the gesture of whipping out a $100 bill and handing it to someone to buy something can be off-putting and egotistical depending on the situation and context. Yet, the same deed can be uplifting, motivational, and emotionally inspiring as is the case with this one. Hence is why I think the kid was probably sharing something personal, maybe how great the Show is, and maybe he hadn't really bought much stuff cus everything is expensive or maybe he just didn't have much money, but is till enjoying it and making the most out of the experience. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Class Act Ryan!
Bro what you have done for the hobby and me personally I cannot put into words the videos you and your team put out say it all. Thank you so much and Go Hoosiers!!!! And Buckeye's just this once.
as a fellow 30 yr old, I work full time 50-60 hours /week and card shows on weekends. I feel your pain ahaha. The big ones are killer on the body. 14-16 hour days lol but love it man! if you ever make it to Toronto sports card expo id love to meet ya Ryan!
16:00 - That was so kind Ryan .. This moment reminded me of a time as a young kid collecting so I wanted to share .. My first job ever was @ Diamond King Sports Cards in Greenland, NH back in '97. Sorting out early 90's upper deck and donruss baseball .. Just an endless amount of junk wax lol I got so good at it I was organizing 100 cards/avg in a min or 2 so I could organize a 600 card set numerically in about 10/15 mins .. Also helped out the customers whenever they were buying packs/boxes. Jeff Lisbon who still owns and runs the shop to this day, is one of the most respected guys in the hobby. He's always treated at the time a 14 yr old kid and today a 37 year old with the utmost respect .. Your videos and how you treat kids reminds me a lot of that and it's so great to see !! June '97 I remember clocking out after taking out all the cardboard from the day and was set in stone on buying a 1996-97 Fleer Metal Basketball box from my rather small paycheck at the time .. Good for a 14 yr old part time but I knew I could afford it so I bought one !! Before I walked out he said "Hey" and tossed me an extra box .. I still have all the base MJ's from that night but what really brought it home was the 'Molten Metal' MJ #18 of 30 .. I can still remember the excitement and thrill of pulling that card .. It was upside down middle pack and I can remember seeing the red and white from the Jordan 12s as the first thing .. I was ecstatic lol : ) In a nutshell as I did get sidetracked lol What you do for the hobby and the younger kids is such a great thing !! I've been handing out packs to some of the younger kids in my neighborhood .. Just so they can at the least have the experience of opening up some cards and maybe getting some of there fav players .. I usually put a bunch of Prizm base from all years as I have so much but then I put in some very decent cards in there i.e. Marcus Smart autos / Trae Young Playoff RC's / Wiggins and Embiid JSY cards / even some nice Gold Standard Auto's .. One kid even rode his bike back to me and said he had to pay me .. I did put a Aaron Gordon Gold Standard card in one of the packs .. I told him, "My friend all these cards are all yours all free and you don't owe me a cent." I think they all deserve that fun of opening a pack and having that thrill .. We all did and look at where the hobby is now !! Gotta keep it moving !!
This remind me back my childhood trading days back in 90s just trading cards at checking cards of people what NBA player cards they got. New sub in here and thank you so much for your vids this means a lot to me especially your name is also my bestfriend name. Keep grinding and hunting!! Best of luck and more power to you Ryan and your team.
The one's who were in the hobby back then when no one else wanted to made out if they made the right choices and never sold off anything. I was starting a family so there was never any way I could stay in the hobby plus I didn't collect basketball.

Bro, this is why I love the hobby. End of the day is just cardboard, but the cardboard is what brings people together
Crazy seeing all the Card social media GOATS coming together.... Emotional stuff
